Please take the penalty for leaving a dungeon out...

We already wait 1hr+ just to get the group.. Then more often than not, the party just sucks... Tank not marking targets or using flash/enmity combo correctly, White mage not sleeping secondary targets, not using their cure > freecure proc > cure 2 rotation correctly. Or just spamming cure 2 and medica. Or the Dps being lost in transit. (Running around aimlessly) or targeting the wrong mobs, waking slept mobs, essentially taking aggro from the tank, and making the whm's life a pain, trying to cure everyone (This is why we mark mobs people, 2 comes after 1 and before 3) Basically, all I am saying is, Why should people be punished for other peoples faults. I'm not gonna sit in a dungeon full of mindless folks that don't know their role. Yes, I understand I take a risk of it when solo registering for a dungeon, but still... I have to suffer the time penalty even after waiting the rediculous amount of time it took to get in??

No, and here's why. I'm a Tank and a que up, get a group instantly, look at the DPS, determine there bad and should feel bad about queing with me, so I drop. Re-que instantly, get another instant group, check the DPS... you get the idea, and if you don't... sorry?

yup not going to happen. We have morons dropping group cause there is no penalty. So its not going to happen

So you are saying we should have to suffer the party even if they are horrible, wont listen to helpful advise, or just plain rude? We should have to suffer a repair bill and a headache if we stay. Or a Time penalty for leaving the group? Honestly that is just garbage. But on the other hand I understand people being able to abuse it if they take off the penalty. "Down the certain boss they need for the item they want then leave everyone hanging" type deal. I'm just at a loss of words really when it comes to dungeons and how they are set up. Maybe implement a voting system or something... idk

If you're consistently running into bad groups who do not listen to advise as you say, then man tough luck but you'll just have to roll with it. I have a feeling you're exaggerating though; most "bad" groups I've run into on DF are usually willing to learn, and come out better for it. You do get the occasional Gaston Gizmo, but those are usually few and far between.

Is that so much worse than the scenario we have now? A tank queues for a party, party is bad, tank goes AFK till ppl leave the run so he has no penalty.

well yes its worse - tank can INSTA queue instead of having to WAIT for ppl to leave =P

either way, its not going to be removed, since the servers would BLOW UP from ppl spamming them non-stop queuing...

have to have a timer of some sort to help keep server load in check...

general public doenst tend to think of technical aspects of things, they just QQ about stuff they dont like

I just got done with Haukke Manor, and had two tanks bail right after we got the first two keys (and two chests) they each basically came in to grab loot, then left our party. I say no, do not take away penalty, in fact it should be more harsh.

Yes, you have to suffer.

Thats the price you pay for using DF over a Free Company/Server LS Group. You dont get to pick who you grp with, and its where all the guild rejects go. (I use it myself sometimes, I just accept the grp and power through because any serious runs are done with my FC or a server LS grp.)

Well, duty finder was a horrible idea upon conception. It was exactly what people wanted; to be able to solo mode an MMO. I have take 2 jobs to level 50 w/ out doing one single event with any of my friends. YAY!! It's working as intended. Thank you whiners.

an mmorpg is a tool for meet people and communicate with people while doing something... but well people seems to forget it.

to the op, the communication is part of the challenge of the DF if something do go right explain it without begin to trash talk and normally 70% of the time you will succed.

Because the Duty finder does everything in it's power to make "Meeting people" Pointless right up to the point where you will never meet those people ever again. Huzzah!

Agreed that Df is ASSSININE to say the least.

Old WORKING MMO mechanics don't seem to be in nowadays though.

I really haven't had too many problems with people just dropping party, since my brother and I are tank and healer (so DPS can rage quit if they want, they're not exactly hurting us when they're easily replaced) but it has happened, and I'm of the mind if you're so impatient and biased about dungeon running then you shouldn't be doing them or should find friends to do them with.

Yes groups can suck sometimes. And some people are just unable to be taught. In those cases, sometimes it's better to just eat the 15 minute penalty and leave. But under no circumstances should that penalty be removed. It is there to discourage people from dropping, and it's somewhat effective, given the fact that so many people whine about it here on the boards. Too many people don't give the group a chance.

Just remember you are not required to sit in your inn and wait for the window to pop up. Craft, fish, gather, farm, Fates, leves, hunting logs. And if you don't like any of those things, you should really be playing a dungeon running game like Phantasy Star or something instead.

If you're going to leave over things as small as your healer not following an unnecessary rotation, you deserve to wait 15 minutes.

You're going to have to weigh the negatives. If the group is so bad that it's worth leaving and waiting 15 minutes, then leave. If It's not, then stick it out and deal with their imperfection.

If you play a tank or healer...or...you know...make some friends...have patience to do things with people (most don't, they just want theirs NOW, which is why duty finder appeals) - then you don't have long queues.

I tank, run with a healer and bard, and we have instant queues for everything. Easy.

Had a tank die and refuse to rez. Said "off to the store, suck it"

We had to take the penalty for leaving.
