This isnt FFXI!

Guess the team didn't listen when people started spewing out leave ffxi in ffxi, this is ffxiv! Really? Shantoto?

It's not XIII either but that didn't stop them from shoving in Blandy McPinkhair for an event.

This isn't Dragon Quest or FFVII either - Face it, SE is actually smart to not listen to people like that.

This also isn't FFVI, or FFXII, or FFVII, or any other Final Fantasy title.

Fun fact: they meant gameplay mechanics from XI being left to XI.

Of course it's not FFXI. This game is actually good and has people playing it.

It should have been a Mithra.

I like the Shantotto reference, and a lot of players came from XI. I'm not sure why people would actively dislike it, I mean it's not like you're forced to participate in anything to do with her but I guess haters will hate.

Although I agree on some level cause I didn't really like Shantotto as a character, she more annoyed me. I'd prefer to see Lion turn up or something.

People in the XIV community largely hates XI and everything about/who played it, for whatever reason - I guess because some people would like to see elements of it back in ARR, especially the good ones but no one complains about ARR basically being FF graphics, WoW and GW2 thrown into a blender.

i don't know i already pretty much quit with still a lot of free time before it runs out i just don't like any of the classes available so not gonna sub cause all the classes i don't really like

I think it's that people want content relevant to Eorzea itself.

At first I thought it would be interesting to see if there's any small story to it, but then when I saw they would add a minion of someone like her, and I feel like they're stretching it. Not opposed to it though since there's actually plenty of people psyched about this, and it's definitely a memorable XI character, so, you know, it's a cute idea, but I don't think I'll take part on the event for the minion part, just to see if they explain how did she get here, lol.

XI had its faults, but it also did a few thing very right. ARR fixed a ton of what was wrong with XIV, but I wouldn't hate it if there was a little more XI here or there. That said, the OP's reaction to a name is.. stupid.

What's the explanation behind the Pointing Hand minion? That is not from the FFXIV world. Should I start a thread about it?

The golems from Dragon Quest is OK, but the FFXI taru dosnt fit with A Realm Reborn its total different graphics :/

It's called homage. Some people whine about ANYTHING.

Honestly who really cares it looks like its going to be a fate and trust me I wouldn't mind smacking Shantoto around just for her stupid laugh (too much of a Naga influence from slayers.... *shudders*) and you get a minion that all it does is follow you around. Not that its an awesome stat increasing item just a vanity pet *shrugs*

i can not describe how much i hate shantotto. the idea of that horrible excuse for a sapient being being permitted into another game sickens me.
If i were to give my honest opinion of shantotto, i would be forum banned for at least a week. I just wish horrible things on shantotto and her creators, and anyone who likes her. she is basically all of the abusive players you have ever met, melded together into one bile and vitriolfest

FFXIV:ARR is nothing like WoW, which is one of the reasons I'm enjoying the hell out of myself here.

Also remember... Yoshi worked on DQX......

Of course this isn't xi...the community is 10000x worse
