Many of your questions are addressed in this interview.
Its long but if you really are looking for information then you will take the time to read it. They are working on it even if its not in huge bold letters at the top of every page.
Something else was brought to my attention. If you live in EU ther actually made a specific post that might be of interest to you. Its about prime time lag, throttling and ISP's thinking that FFXIV is a P2P transfer system. Give this a read as well. I hope some of the things I have posted will help with your issues.

I live in West Coast Canada and I play on a Legacy EU server and I do not have any of the issues you seem to be having (aside from the last two) but I know people in my FC did. This team has a ton of communication so to say that "they are not listening" is a misrepresentation, IMHO. You just need to look or ask the right questions. -

If not all game are designed to please everyone, your specific complaints appear superficial to me. Personally, this game feels really solid and functional to me, especially for a less-than-a-month-old MMO (official release date = August 27th). Is it a perfect game, of course not.
I can't say for your lag experience, but sometimes, your Internet provider could be the real culprit. I'm not from Europe, but I've played a few MMOs on European servers and lag didn't affect my gameplay enough to make me switch back to American servers just for that. Then again, I only writing about lags and not all of the other nasty things server related.
Bugged area of effects. The red area marker is on the ground until replaced by the creature attack animation. Even if you'd live next to the datacenter, if you wait until the attack is launch to get out, even if you beat the animation, the attack will damage you. You need to have left the zone before the creature's casting bar is filled. Considering Europe has a larger ping, you need to get out of the zone as soon as you see it (and NOT try to land a few more blows). You need to focus on: red = get out right away. Trying to get a few more damage points will only result in you getting hurt.
No right-click to block spammer is a game design. It was not intended to be needed and there is a lot of other things to work on before something so insignificant. It is possible to set filters though. Personally, I use other chat tabs when gil sellers annoys me. In these other tabs, I remove shout so I get ignore all of them at once.
For community manager, this is first and foremost a Japanese game and there is a HUGE amount of threads created in the English forums each day (and a hell lot of duplicates). Taking charge of all the whining on the forums takes superhuman skills. We do receive an official translation of the major announcement, so that should count.
For the one month and nothing, this is false. 2 weeks ago, there was a massive server overhaul. Now, they are working on server transfer. SE wants everyone to be able to play properly at this point, which is why digital sales were closed and no physical copies of the game were given outside Japan for a while.
For you to feel abandoned, I'm assuming you are new to MMOs. The key with MMOs is patience. People are working as hard as they can, but the human body has its limits (so does coffee). It is also good to know that what appears simple and quick, never is. Programming is a gamble. If I correct that bug, will that create another bug? If I change this line of code, will I mess up these other lines... The trick is to have fun. Focus on what you like and enjoy. If there is nothing you enjoy, I'm afraid there is unfortunately nothing that will change your mind.

There most definitely is a community manager and they've made posts almost every weekday on various subjects. What forum are you reading?
They can't fix every little thing the instant it happens... you are not abandoned, you just have to wait for the upcoming patch.
You don't seem to understand, they can't instantly patch every little issue that comes up. It is much less work and much more efficient if they complie all the fixes, changes and improvements into a larger patch. -

You feel abandoned because every time something bad happens to you, you expect them to immediately shut down the servers and fix it with maint right away. Get over yourself, please delete your character and quit the game so the game has 1 less child. -

Regarding lag, I have to say also that it might be your ISP.
We have a DSL connection, and are on a JP server. No Lag. The only time we've seen 'lag' is when we're in a really over-populated area.
We recently added a second internet connection, this time cable.
It sucks. Lag everywhere. I know many of you won't believe me, but it's true. One person, using the cable line, one person using the DSL, streaming Netflix on the DSL line, and the one using cable to play has LAG. ^^ -

I agree they should implemented the Right Click Option sooner and will be convenient, but it not game breaking. There will always be Cheater and Exploiters, but they already warned they will Banned people for it and try to fixed it when it happens. Lots of improvement also coming in 2.1, so far I'm enjoying the games. You shouldn't be so negative all the time, saying they didn't do anything is not entirely correct. -
