How do you get the Black Mage Barding for your Chocobo?

How do you get the Black Mage Barding for your Chocobo? I can't find any info on it except that it exist.

I'm not sure if they've been implemented yet, just like housing, PvP, etc. Maybe in the first patch, around November-ish.

we only have 3 base classes for chocobo right now, Healer, Attacker, Tank. there isnt BLM/WHM/BRD/PLD/WAR/DRG for chocobo, since those were only concepts for future develpment that were shown in Live interview, they arent in game yet.

I think those are just costumes for chocobos. And there is no announcement about it yet.

A bit of necro here, but apparently, *some* of the mysterious BLM/WHM/PLD/DRG bardings are already available.

Stumbled upon this one near Bluefog, but since I thought it was a Sleipnir version at first, I forgot to write down the owner's name. According to the database, this one here is a PLD barding. Still no clue how to get one, though.

there are two possible explanations for that tank barding.

Possibility 1: The barding is for reaching rank 10 with your companion.
Possibility 2: They used the database exploit.

Ok this needs to be looked into, I really need that Paladin barding for my chocobo.

tried looking for any clues or hints or how to get the paladin barding but sadly theres just no info about it ryt now on the net or im just doing the wrong way.. grrr really want that!! haha i think its not called palading barding though.. mind sharing what database you used? all im saw was the black mage barding/gc ones slepnir and behe one

Blackmage, Sleepnir are in the lodestone official database. I thought the sleepnir was from the Odin Fate. I have no idea if SE puts things in the database before they are patched into the game but the only thing I heard about the job spec barding was in concept sketches during live letter so they are on their way if not in the game now.

I notice that the BLM barding is the only one that uses "Crafted" in the item description. But since they are unsellable and untradeable, it must just be coincidence.

the mantle reward from odin fate is used to get the sleipner barding in mor dhona, and the tank/paladin barding or whatsoever its name have a screenie by Xenobius

wish there were more info about that tank/paladin barding though

I found two more screenshots of that one in my folder (here and here), too bad I took both with interface off.
As for the name - that's from the model viewer.

Just the BLM, Sleipnir and Behemoth.

If you max Rank your Chocobo and you'll get one of these depending on the spec.

they are out at least the whitemage and pld bardings 100% someone posted screenies for the whitemage and the pld barding posted here.

XIV app/database has things that are yet implemented in the game. You can find final fantasy XIII weapons on it already. However I can honestly say I have seen a Blackmage barding in game. A maxed out barding does make sense though...if so then 8 more levels to get the White Mage barding.

if level 10 grants the barding, what happens if you built a hybrid chocobo? For instance, so far mine has mostly healer spec up til the +healing power talent, then up to the dot in attacker. will i get anything this way?

You need rank 10 Chocobo with the points all in one spec to get the bardings
DRG = All Attacker
PLD = All Tank
WHM = All Healer

How to get BLM barding is yet unknown. Hope that cleared it up for some people.

You do not gain anything from not staying true to one tree.

its a pain, my chocobo reached lvl 10 and i got nothing cause of 1 wrong allocated skillpoint in the early past -_-

I hope they'll implement a chocobo skillreset soon >_>

Oh cool I was wondering what an attacker choco would get.

from what i understand you get barding based on reaching the rank 10 on your chocobo. depending on the tree you chose. so TANK CHOCO - Paladin Barding, HEALER CHOCO - WHM barding ( i've seen this one ) and DPS choc - IDK.. i guess bLM

DPS should be the DRG barding, now that we know it is not the BLM barding

The Barding for PLD is from rank 10 all tank specs, DRG comes from all attacker, WHM is healer. I have seen the Black(classic blue) mage barding all over Famfrit. Heard rumor is is for subscription time purchsed.

Sucks that you have yo get your choco to rank ten to get the barding, but I guess its a good reward for being dedicated to leveling the flightless bugger..

Mine is rank 4 and I've been using it since launch :(.

Black Mage barding = 180 days subscribed
