For 1.0 players, yes. I think people who purchased ARR are still on their 30 day free trial.
Let the real community begin! This is like a holiday to me lol, within a week things are going to calm down and we can realy play.
I wish billing has started for me so I can get all my goodies for 90 day sub...can't wait...we still have some time yet though for non- 1.0 ers.
I think it will be a good thing to get rid of a lot of the people who knew they weren't going to sub, but I will miss seeing so many people.
there is virtually no depth to this game, doesn't surprise me that people are jumping ship already. They should have delayed it 6 months, but whats done is done.
I'm planning on subbing again after my trip to Hawaii. Is it really dead? How bout Excalibur?
Id say 90% of legacy players billed today resubbed and paid today. Legacy players got SE's back! Hell I'd pay for this game monthly and not even play it. Its only 7.99 a month for legacy members if ya buy 6 month deal.....
On the 6-month plan. I'm covered in Crysta so no worries until March.
Hopefully the D-bag clown car has left the lot. Those guys seem to gravitate toward F2P, anyway.
I'm not worried about it there will be plenty of players still on. When they resume digital sails there will be another influx of players joining. People who are complaining about not enough end game content after a game being out 3ish weeks are hilarious. Its like they wanted SE to start everyone at 50 and only make end game content when tons of people arent even there yet.
Doesn't seem even close to dead to me, only legacy players billing started today, which is a much smaller portion of the player base honestly (compared to how many bought it). I think It's more the weekly mythology reset people busy trying to run AK instead of messing around on lower level jobs
what? :O i wasnt billed today come on xD im excited for the rewards
And it begins...the exodus..
Don't forget too, Grand Theft Auto 5 just came out today. While i'm not a fan of it, a lot of people were really, really looking forward to it, and are probably playing that, in addition to it being a Tuesday morning here.
For the record, i'm a 1.0 player, and subbed for 180 days, if that matters.
I noticed last night that there was hardly anyone around in town or in zones. On Masamune. (about 11pm central time) Even the area's that are normally packed such as the summoning bell in Uldah only boasted about 15 people compared to the normal. I don't really think this is a bad thing. However I will agree that it is due to a lack of depth. Most people have already obtained a level 50 job, ran several of the end game dungeons (what's available at this point) and obtained the best gear available. Most everything else in this game that I thought would attract more players has been pretty much made useless by the companies approach. Materia? Why bother? Crafting? Why bother? Getting the best gear available? Done and done.
I'll be staying and subscribing but honestly most of the things I did look forward to doing have been ruined by the "you shouldn't have to depend on this to progress" attitude adopted by the devs. Dungeon grinding and obtaining gear is old hat and boring as hell.
The games been out for a few weeks. I have no shortage of content to play through. The only people who are complaining about not having enough to do are the people who rush to 50 and only try farming for end game gear. They are playing this game to only do one thing yet they expect 90% of the game to be designed around them while a majority of players are out there leveling multiple jobs, crafting, and gathering.
I look forward to less unhappy legacy players lingering around... Hopefully a lot of things stabilize now.
Is it possible that RMT shouting will also reduce greatly??
I'm 50, I didn't rush. Why are people using this excuse? The game has been out for weeks now, I spend barely 10-15% of my time during the week playing and have a 50. I watched every cutscene, hell I read every dialogue box, even side quests.
I even had time to level mining to 40 and Armorer to 44. People are just inefficient with their playtime I guess.
Also likely the same people who rush to the end of any game's (including wow mind you) expansiont hen cry about how terrible it is compared to the last and not enough to do.
More annoyance SE refers to everything based around those characters and world as legacy, then there is legacy status which is different so everything uses the same name referring to something possibly different. I simply refer to everything 1.0 as legacy I don't see a need to differentiate them, there isn't anything different really.
Thank god. Maybe now I can finally participate in Odin or Behemoth on my server.
You disappoint me. I'll let you figure out which ones did the disappointing and when. But "crybabies" and "jumping ship" and "good riddance"? I may well be a crybaby, but I didn't jump no ship; I was thrown from that deck. I'd still be on there right now, mixing it up with all of you, if SquareEnix didn't unceremoniously boot us from the game and tell us we no longer had a valid account. And whatsmore, on top of that, they won't let many of us update any billing information. If I really honestly can't come back. Ok. Fine. Too much trouble anyway. But you all shouldn't be smuggin it up so much. This kind of service is going to come on you--on all of us. Maybe in some months you'll be mysteriously shut out too. Maybe 30 days, when your trials are up... I guess we'll wait and see.
There is plenty to do at 50, such as optimizing your 50 by getting the skills needed, DRG needs Mar 26 to be competitive, and arguably Pug 42 for some fights, professions help get income which you will turn around to spend on consumables for raiding.. all very standard in any Raid based MMO.
I am working hard towards Coil, which I doubt any of these people saying the game is too easy have completed.
As for quests, there are a limited number of them, but honestly for a game that just came out, 14 dungeons, 3 primal fights, 1 really hard raid, 19 classes to level to 50 on one character, a 24 man raid planned for November, plus new dailies, new quests and new primal fights, there is more content here than when a certain MMO giant first released. People often forget how much games start with before more is added.
GTA5 also came out today - I know several people who are taking a break to play that...I'm not one, so I'll be online after work - woot!
eta: woops - this has alreday been mentioned...that's what I get for not reading the whole thread. :)
I'd rather the game have 100-150K people actually playing than 500k+ people, half of who are just here to tell others not to enjoy the game.
I'm with Darico, I've spent the last 3 hours trying to get any of the available payment methods to work and none do. I contact customer support several days ago and never got a response, but when I looked up the support ticket it had already been closed out and they claimed to have sent an email to my registered address (which is true, if they meant only the generic auto-response "hey we got that you contacted us, someone should be with you within 2 business days" message <.< ).
Error 601 or 401 no matter what I try, and today I tried contacting customer support but the field to put in your user ID now limits you to 8 characters, and mine is 10 characters long! Chat and Phone support are also unavailable before completing the form, which you can't do without providing a valid user ID, which they have now made impossible! DAFUQ menz ;-;
Square needs to hurry up and take my money so I can get back to relaxing and playing the game! >.<
Got my 90 day rewards today. :D
He has a point. I know you're in full white knight mode, but this game could use more.. fluff.
I'm not saying I don't like it, I do and have already bought 90 days worth of Crysta, but it feels like we're lacking customization and ambiance.
But those issues are usually solved with time.
The AFK kicker cleaned up the streets faster than Wyatt Earp patrolling the streets of Dodge City, Kansas.
Sadly the best part of the game for me is the story, and since the story ended, there's really no point in subscribing for me, because everything else is average and it feels like I've played it so many times before.
