It would be a nice option to have for some players, but I imagine it'd just make the whole "skip cutscenes or get left behind" mentality even more prevalent. If they could address that, then I don't see a reason this option couldn't be added in, even if all it would do is auto-skip cutscenes for you.
You're a bit lazy, aren't you? You have to press, like, two buttons to pass them.
especially in Castrum, that dungeon shows you a cutscene every 2 minutes.
Can't you just skip them manually with two buttons?
It's not being lazy, it's being annoyed by the same cut scenes that you been through 25 times already. As a healer, I'll be healing people then BAM cut scene pops, I quick get out so I can keep healing only to see both tanks still watching it and those who quickly got out get beat to death.
If you want to see them again just go to the Inn and watch them.
I did castrum yesterday and didn't see one area where CS' s popped up during a fight. Only when people ran ahead and didn't wait for those in CS' s.
That said. I think watching CS' s should be mandatory and unskippable for first timers while those who have been through it should have an option to turn them off.
This solves two problems.
First timers not being able to watch them because of jerks running ahead and screaming "wach @ enn n00b" while also giving actual speed run groups the ability to do just that. Speed run.
Yeah, I understood what you were asking for. I just meant that, even if all it did was auto-skip cutscenes, the option would still be appreciated by some players. Sorry about the lack of clarity.
I'm not sure how the cutscenes are implemented in the game, so it's hard to say how easy or hard it would be to actually allow players to just opt-out of watching them entirely.
After the first visit to Castrum and Praetorium cutscenes should just auto-skip for everyone.. they put an NPC into the Inn who can show you all the cutscenes again for a reason. I was really pissed too when I got constantly pestered and flamed when I wanted to watch the cutscenes during my first run through Praetorium, but only later learned the place is actually challenging and long enough for fresh 50s that you actually need all the time that the cutscenes waste (mainly for 3rd last boss), and even then we only beat it with about 3 minutes left.
As long as someone is watching cutscenes, at the very least the timer should stop.
I think this would be a great option to add. But it definitely needs to be optional and not just automatic. Some folks enjoy watching the scenes multiple times.
Let me know when you get to 50 and you've done at least a dozen CM runs. Currently, you have no idea what you're talking about.
Really, CM has the worst cut scene setup in the entire game. There are several that pop in mid fights, and a few that pop right as major AOEs startup around everyone.
I want an option to turn off these annoying cutscenes soooooooo bad...
Making it an option but not forcing players would seem like the best way to do it, but an option like that has got to be implemented nevertheless...
I don't mind if first timers watch the cutscenes when i solo queue, but when i'm doing premade speed runs, i'd like to avoid being forced into a cutscene y times in fast succession.
They should just implement an check box in the duty finder window saying if you want cutscenes or not. This way you'll be grouped with people who are looking to farm or with people who want to see the story.
