Please Spay or Neuter Your Mining Bots -.-

These little bastards are out of control! I've been mining in various places at lvl 28, getting iron here, Bomb Ash there etc. I've seen bots in all areas, just outside Copperbell Mines on Hyperion server especially. I had 3 I reported roughly 4 days ago, and they aren't there anymore, but they've just moved on to further areas. Just now I reported one that was mining in Southern Thanalan, while I was gathering Bomb Ash...he displayed something that I had *heard* of, but never seen with my own eyes. This guy was coming up to a node, mining it, and then POOF, gone...onto the next node instantly. I don't understand how, once reported, these "characters" are surviving for 3-4+ days. I did find it fun to interrupt the miners at Copperbell with bombs though >.> but having them here isn't worth the entertainment value.

I agree. They are rampant everywhere. I report them all but they still keep going for hours. I was mining in drybone and encountered three bots with the "teleport hack" only there. Some guy was level 43 still in lv 15 mining gear.

SE is too busy nerfing speed runs instead of fixing the bot and shout/tell spam.

Lol, all mine are rockin the lvl 8 pickaxe and straw hat, and random lowbie gear. The Copperbell pricks went from 21-30, simply mining those for who knows how long. I don't know if SE is just swamped with reports, or if they simply don't give a damn currently, but I've stopped buying ores/ash off market cause who knows if I'm buying from those bastards :/ Thus, they effect the game in a huge way....and I'm honestly feeling discouraged that I can see them farming items almost a week straight with no penalty.

Edited to clarify: I'm not saying ME personally not buying is effecting the game in a huge way....but possibly others feel the same way, which could be effecting sales of an everyday person trying to make an honest gil :)

Not to mention it's killing the economy :(

I can understand that yeah, but the one's I've reported, and are mentioning now, are clearly bots. For them to be warp-hacking, and running the exact same path each time.....and also not responding to a single tell, all raise suspicions lol. Also, if I were blowing up the everyday miner with a bomb, I'm sure I would have gotten an ass-chewing xD. For those out there who ARE mining for Lumiinary, GL :D you're almost there! I just saw one today too.

At first, I wasn't paying too much attention. I was wondering how a guy on steal always got to the trees before I did. Wondered why they even used stealth in an area it was not needed. Then, I decided to watch him. He would just poof and appear at the next bush. :P

Please.....SE kill them and the gil spammers. ;_; That is all I ask.

We need an Eorzean-equivelant to the Goblin Bounty Hunters from FFXI to deal with these. ;)

Those things just became a pain for everyone lmao. Maybe once PvP comes around, they'll make it to where you challenge a person....and then a timer with yes/no pops up on that person's screen. Say, 20 seconds pass, no input, defaults to yes > murder the ever living hell out of the RMT....one can dream :)

Oh, that would be lovely. I so wish this would happen, even though I know it never will. It's a beautiful dream, for gil bots and gathering bots alike.

So true. Their priorities don't make any sense to me.

Has SE even acknowledged the bots/spammer problem yet? I'm sure there are enough bots and spammers that if SE removed them all they could probably open character creation back up on many of the servers.

Allowing some bots can be a good way to keep track of gold farmers. They can track where the gil they make is going and hopefully ban the mothership of gil instead of just one of the pawns.

I figured I'd come and drop my 0.02 in here;
I'm kinda worried about this; it's discouraging as a crafter and a gatherer to see the bots running rampant, and I too refuse to buy gathered mats on the auction house now because I don't want to risk buying something from an RMT.

I reported a botter on Hyperion about a week ago; Atira Swiftclaw. Walking from node to node, instant gathering, fully stealthed, 'random' jumps. (I say random because it looks like she's jumping without reason, but jumps at exactly the same points on her path). I checked every couple days, but she was still there, walking her path in the south shroud. :(

I hope SE steps it up soon, now we have groups of craft bots in the DoL guilds... I dread to think what it's going to be like in a month.

I'm concerned that SE is gonna nerf gathering to counter these bots -.- I'm sure it won't happen, but still lol. Like in XI, they nerfed bird blood, which was really a great way to farm (aside from the mass RMT competing for leeches), then they nerfed angel skins which I *really* loved to farm, then came blinkers. So far any action they've taken has had a negative impact on more than just the RMT :/ I could *almost* see them instating some type of delay to gathering, or limiting it to so many gathers...almost like Fishing Fatigue in XI. Hope SE isn't reading and taking notes >.> if you are t(o.o)t

I reported 5 of them on Saturday right outside the Gates of Nald, all of them using the stealth skill and speed hacking/warping to the next node. Came back Sunday and all 5 were still at it. It's very discouraging, not to mention the glut of gathered items that get dumped onto the market.
