OMG please for the love of this game make a token system so I do not have to bash face anymore.
(EDIT) 48 ifrit kills and 13 garuda kills, no spear.
(EDIT) Did titan in an undergeared group for relic! Win... luckily they took me.

Primal fights are laughably horrible design and will drive away a great number of players, I fully agree.
The really sad part is me and a friend both got our Ifrit weapons on our first run. He got his Garuda weapon on his first run and I got mine on like my third. But then I know some people who run it multiple times per day who've never even seen their classes' weapon drop. Maybe drop 2? Why drop 1 item for 8 peoples' work? Clearly you can't have 8 drop, that'd be silly, but 1 is kinda sad.
most of time i see book for smn drop.....
As I said somewhere else... at the moment I'm at 60+ Ifrit runs and a dozen Garuda. Never seen a lance drop even once.
I'm not able to express of extremely tired and deeply nauseated I am by this.
This is terrible design.
Needs to be returned to the v1 drop system. Where every pops a chest and takes their chances for weapons and maybe totems (1-3) at least then ppl won't need to fight for drop and u can possibly just get more to me stones for totems.
I've done around 40 garudas and never have I seen a PLD, DRG, or MNK weapon drop.
40 garudas? is this even for real?
Took me 40ish garudas to get MNK weapon, and over 40 ifrits and 40 garudas for my Marauder friend to get his Garuda axe.
I like it this way :)
PS: We farm garudas at 6 per hour in my LS, it's more effective than AK, for both kinds of tomes
go do titan, get relic weapon and gg?
I got the spear on the very first HM Ifrit I ran. Drop rates are fine, RNG is RNG.
30+ ifrits here
20 books, pala/mage weapons, and 1 monks
It's 2013, stop relying on RNG for these endgame drops. Make a chest for each party member with a random reward inside. Otherwise do what Blizzard did with heroics and add tokens for the unlucky. It still takes time to get anything but it won't be handing the weapons out like candy.
The primal fights are really really great and ifrit and garuda are manageable with randoms.
I wish I could get into that many groups to run 47 + , I have trouble finding groups that will take someone WITHOUT a relic !!!!
Bad luck. The probability that after 47 your weapon still didn't drop is about 0.00188095537 %.
On Hyperion DDs starts to get denied for having no relic in CM/Petro speedruns, this trend is starting to get hilirious.
so lucky to acquire ifrit's bow in 4th run, it depends on the user's luck maybe. pray harder sir. hehehe
Completed ifrit 41 times so far and still haven't even see a bow drop. Countless times a weapon drops for a job nobody is on. 0.8% chance that I shouldn't have seen a bow by now if my math is right? RNG needs to better..clearly isn't working too well. On average I should've seen 4.5 or so bows by now?
Even more bad luck, updated original post to add even more runs that no spear has dropped.
Go for the relic. I know it sucks to hear, but RNG in this game is really bad atm, thankfully they've made relics at least remove part of the gear you need to roll the dice for.
No sword dropped in my case after around 30 odds runs but i've seen around 4 spears 3 fists 2 cudgels 3 bows 1 cane 4 axes and the rest being chiefly summoner/scholar weapons...
I do think that the drops are random and not getting one's loot can be attributed to just bad luck =\
I see this a lot in games that use RNG for loot distribution.
The problem here is not the system but people's understanding of statistics, and how probability isn't a certainty but rather an estimate, influenced by numerous variables (controlled or otherwise).
In a nutshell; the theory of the relative frequency of a probability (%) suggests that the probability (%) of a given event occurring (i.e. your loot dropping) is 'more likely' to occur the the more often said event is attempted.
In Laymens terms; it's random. The more you try the 'more likely' you are to see the event occur but there is by no means a guarantee. As some have pointed out this is why token systems have become the choice of more and more MMO's these days. It's guaranteed i.e. 100% likely you will get your loot.
And really there is nothing SE can do about it.
that stupid garuda bow dropped two times in a row with no bard in the group
Not really, but i dont cry because i dont get my weopons after 5 fights. I can wait and if i never get it how cares, maybe i will get titan weapon befor i get garuda.
But its always the same the game is 3 weeks old and you guys cry about loot allready, and if dont get it after 50 or 60 trys i will just craft a weapon or the could get the relict, because thats item is 100 % optainable.
But its easier to cry than work for your gear right? MMO's where smaller back than but the communities weren't little crybabies. If you dont like it just leave there are enough MMO's out there with token systems.
it's not like you're lock onto one job and will never have use of those weapon(unless everybody is stupid and just pass what's not for their current job).
It's fun how i capped my weekly myth tome repeating ifrit / garuda endless, and i saw the ifrit healer staff just ONE time, lost on a bad roll. I collected nearly all weapons except this one rofl :D
Yeah, unless you have a perfect group every time you run it, it is unfortunately counterproductive to run these fights repeatedly. I say if you don't get it after a few attempts move on and focus your efforts on AK runs (until 8 for the week) and CM runs. Do this while working toward the relic weapon. Even getting the first step of the relic weapon is likely to be a decent enough weapon to let you get through those other fights. If you have full darklight/af2 gear going for titan, minus a weapon, I am sure you will be fine. Kill it once and be done with it.
My beef with this system, you have shit RNG on the weapons, and the other option is run AK something like 65 times to get full darklight... So either it is a grind fest... or it is a grind fest... there is not happy middle. 65 times is just rediculous (imo). I am not at all suggesting they just hand everyone the loot, but if you have cleared the dungeon, making you clear is 64 more times does not make you a better player... it just means you have a TON of time on your hands.
Unlucky brah. Took me 22 Garuda kills to get my book.
Oh and by the way - I did it in AK armor and a green level 50 book (read: sucky gear). If people are raging and leaving because someone isn't geared, they suck. Garuda is easy and not a gear check.
Wrong. We did it as an FC last night and one shot it. Then continued to do it until everyone got their weapons. I was using a lvl 45 vendor book and the only DL i have is belt and 3 jewelry. The rest of the group has about the same gear, maybe a few AK pieces thrown in and some ifrit weapons. This is an easy mechanics fight to farm.
