Which one would you prefer? Why did they just ditch the old OST like that anyway? It was way better than ARR OST.

I also miss this tune. Yes, there is a shittier version of it in ARR, but it can't beat the original.

Will admit I never played XIV 1.XX but I did buy all the soundtracks. I personally am loving ARR's OST much more than XIV's. I'm very happy though they kept Ifrit and Garuda's theme though :D Seeing as Garuda's song is my favorite!

Nope, I'm pretty okay with this soundtrack - I feel it works pretty well so far, and there's not a track I currently find myself not liking much.

I prefer the new. Some of the old is good, too, but for your particular example, definitely the new :)

Technically the last one is in the Limsa Lominsa opening sequence, but I know what you mean.

On top of that, they kept the exact same personal chocobo theme, and then threw out the old rental chocobo them and made them both the same in ARR, and I preferred the old rental chocobo theme over the personal one. Wish they could have at least 'tossed out' that one and made a new one for that too...

The second to last, I always associated with Thousand Maws, even though it was used for just about every dungeon in 1.0, so it was nice when it turns out they only kept the rendition for Thousand Maws, but the rendition was weak. The old tune was just fine for that setting, and didn't need to be "refreshed".

I like 2.0's music, but if they don't bring back the old raid music I swear to god--mark my words--I will probably keep playing as usual and listen to it on my own time.

I think music is so important in games. If done right, it can bring out different feelings and emotions of each area. 1.0 had great music. I guess a lot of us 1.0 players will miss music from it. But as I travel and explore ARR, I haven't had a music complaint yet. I think they did a great job. That's what makes soundtracks so amazing :) you can play 1.0 music while you play ARR and bring it all back :D

I like 2.0's music 10x more than 1.0's. The new music has so much more of an FF feel and much more flavor than the original.

There are a select few tracks from 1.0 I wish were around more in 2.0, Twilight over Thanalan for one.

That being said, as much as I enjoy Uematsu's work, I just wasn't feeling it on the original soundtrack. Soken has done an amazing job.

The last one I would like to see in the New it just songs really good.

Personally, I have many memories tied to the old OST and the pre-Calamity world. I think hearing the same music on new maps would just feel weird to me, and the new soundtrack is good as well. I'd just want the music to play more often, but they already stated they won't do it.

Heh, I liked how the old dungeon music would play all the time and change it's instruments to a more upbeat one when you enter battle, fading back seamlessly into the more quiet one once enemies were dead. That's something I miss, but then, it was always the same music no matter the dungeon which was boring. If they made an alternative theme for each dungeon that doesn't only play during the opening sequence, that would be great.

While there were a lot of great songs in the 1.0 soundtrack (especially the town themes), that doesn't mean the entire soundtrack was good.

I think that they should allow people to select which tracks in game are from which soundtrack. Or maybe make that a bonus for buying the Before Meteor soundtrack. I know I'd buy the OST if that was a bonus that came with it.

I like a lot of the new music, and I love a lot of 1.0's soundtrack. I wish they'd make more use of it, and mix in 1.0 tracks occasionally. I noticed there is a lot of 'dead air' between tracks in a lot of zones. Perfect opportunity to throw in one of the 1.0 songs.

Also, is it just me, or are all monsters (besides the bird wing flapping sound) insanely quiet? They hardly make any ambient noise at all. I'm actually distracted by the lack of natural sound coming from the environment at times.

ARR's music is better than 1.0's, I'm sorry to say. That battle music you linked? Yuck, seriously.

It doesn't need to be brought back. Nearly the entire original soundtrack is still part of the game. Only some of the zone music is not (some of it is, but is repurposed)

Ignore this post, it's the worst opinion in existence. Anyone who dislikes any of the leve or normal battle music of 1.0 is a heretic.

Seriously, I would vastly prefer if we got 1.0's battle music instead of the same song but different instruments music that we have now. I miss 1.0's music.

The last one is the only one that you posted that I care for, to be frank. :x

Would really like an option to loop the music, kinda crappy running dungeons with no music :(

Ya the i liked the 1.0 soundtrack as a listening on my iphone, In game it was so clashing with the atmosphere, nothing ever fit the area of the world we were in.... Now if we were Garlean Soldiers on conquest with our future tech fine it might of fit with all the techno guitar riffs of electronichood. The current music makes it feel like a FF world, now they can use the Uematsu electronica when we start pushing into Garlean Empire territory where futuristic tech is everywhere...
I know all picky and everything, I loved 1.0 soundtrack but when I was in the game like I said... it ruined it for me haha.

I never got a chance to play 1.0 but On windy meadows sounds stellar! Because lord knows I don't like Limsa Lominsa/La Noscea's music all that much, pretty much bottom tier along with Ul'dah/Thanalan's themes.

But that 1.0 leve one sounds like something I'll never grow to love.
Regarding 2.0's battle theme, I prefer that more than anything.

Actually, Soken retained Uematsu's original 1.0 rental chocobo theme (called 'Bo-down' on the Before Meteor album) when riding a rental chocobo in ARR as well (it's also used when riding a Chocoporter). Eorzea de Chocobo is likewise retained for personal chocobos as you know.

As for On Windy Meadows, which indeed was used when riding the ferry to Limsa Lominsa as a new character, the new Aleport theme is also a subtle remix of it if you listen even slightly closely to it, which made me squee with delight when I heard it. ;)

Both were (are) great. I just wish they would still use more of the 1.0 music in 2.0...all of that beauty... Wasted, unused.

I miss a lot of 1.0's themes. I just wish the music kept playing in ARR and didn't randomly stop all the time.

I love them both, but ARR's wins out if only for "that" boss music :O

Was proper gutted the end of an era song wasnt on the CE music disc!

I enjoyed all of those tracks. I will miss some of the tracks from 1.0, tracks like Navigator's Glory from LL.

I'm just glad they changed some music that felt out of place like the La Noscea battle music and the Guildleve music.
