Titan (Hard Mode)

The fight does not require two tanks, please replace the 2nd tank spot with another dps spot. It is already frustrating enough that the fight is ridiculously overtuned for PuG Duty Finder groups in comparison to Ifrit and Garuda. I have literally been stuck on this fight for 7 days now, and it is the only thing preventing me from completing my Relic weapon quest.

I find the difference in difficulty ridiculous, and it is INFURIATING that my Relic is being held back because of the lack of gear requirement to queue for this fight, and lacking enough dps to actually even kill Titan's heart, without first building a full limit break at the start of the fight.

Titan is fine. The difficulty is fine. Instead of joining pugs for 7 days you should have put together an 8 player group and practiced until you could kill it. Yoshida said that higher end dungeons shouldn't be done through DF (some, like coil can't be done through it). If you were to make your own group you could run 1 tank, 4 DPS and 3 healers or 1 tank, 5 dps and 2 healers.

Don't ask for content to be made easier so you can get a relic weapon for a dungeon that you won't be able to do because you couldn't handle titan.

He's saying that there needs to be a gear check requirement which is absolutely true. Trying to form a PUG by using /shout and having a gear check as a requirement to join gets you called an elitist scumbag by people in AF/White gear. Titan HM can be done through the DF if you get geared, knowledgeable players. One of the tanks being a WAR would help for DPS.

Dual PLD puts out pretty much the same DPS as WAR + PLD. The off tank PLD just has to swap to Sword Oath.

I'd just prefer the 2nd tank slot for a 3rd healer ;_;

I mean sure I could try and shout on my server but thats no more effective than using the dungeon finder most of the time. If they were in my fc and I could talk things through, make sure their gear is up to scratch ahead of time etc, itd be fine. But being only 3 weeks in, finding that many geared 50's that pay attention is kinda hard.

have your WAR become MAR so he can take extra DPS skills, they are actually fine on dps that way, just dont have much burst

At what point did he ask the fight to be easier? Work on your reading comprehension. He said the Duty Finder shouldn't be pulling in two tanks, as that completely wastes a spot.

Luckily they're also putting in a minimum ilvl check in 2.1 so that people who don't know any better can't queue and ruin a run by being severely undergeared.

Further, don't tell people to not use the Duty Finder. If they don't want the Duty Finder to be used, then it shouldn't be available for this content. Getting a group together of people who aren't braindead and are actually geared enough for this fight is a practice in monotony. Simply not having a second tank and having a minimum ilvl check would fix it. The fight itself is perfectly fine.

Going to be a long time until I beat this thing. Its usually a back line that can't avoid everything or some hick-up in the DPS.

I don't understand that whole stuff around AF gear, sure DL main pieces give more of your main stats but it won't make "the" difference if you don't get what's necessary. You mainly need chest legs and weapon to have a noticable increase in dps.

For instance I cleared AK with a guy in full AF and maximum lvl 40 jewelery, it was just fine. Not super ultra fast, simply slow & steady. If you know how to play your class you won't have a real problem with the gear part, this shitty excuse need to stop. Just came from TSW where people were usin the same argument and I could outdps pretty much everyone in 70% of the groups I went in without even havin purple gear ...

not suggested to do this through Duty Finder ... I think I learned that the hard way and a few others as well. Just get You and 7 others 1 Tank 3 healers 4 DPS - 1 DRG , 1 BRD, 2 BLM well geared and willing to learn the loops. Oh when you get to the heart just pray to god the DRG doesn't get locked up in the Granite Jail :P hitting the heart for 10k+ on limit break is needed :P

Titan performs an dotish aoe on everyone quite often. If you don't have around 3k4 HP it makes the healer job harder, and there's already a lot of AoE healing making the threat counter go all crazy. And there's also the part where a lot of party is too short in DPS to simply kill the damn heart.
No really, everything before Titan is a joke, Titan is the first real end game encounter and is the first place where you really want to have a decent gear (as DL is far from being great but is really easy to have), every bit of stat you can get is a blessing.

Me : I'm a warrior full darklight accs and +90 +60 armors have experience.
XXX : We are prefer the paladin for tanking. ( Demage mitigation)
Me : Okey then i'll come for Dps spot i have decent dps and know the tactics. (Evade attacks etc.)
XXX : We are looking real dps sorry

I'm just curious if we cannot do this with pugs and this fight just need one tank and all premades perefer the paladin. Now what we (Warriors) doing for the complete this Relic quest ?

Yup WAR are kinda screwed if you don't have friends to do it with. I assume that a lot of WAR with their bravura paid Coil party to run Titan sadly. Even if we're perfectly capable of tanking it.

I finally killed Titan HM with pugs.

If you can't put a party together and kill titan yourself, there's no reason for you to have a relic weapon. You certainly won't be doing coil.

If you do this in a premade, WAR can DPS or tank this. I've done this as 2 tank, 4 damage 2 healer, 1 tank 5 damage 2 healer and 1 tank 4 damage 3 healer. It's an easy fight, just need to break the heart and not stand in colors.

Sadly, warriors aren't that great right now. They are way too hard to heal to be MT and put out less single target damage than paladin. Hope they fix war but you mighthave it rough for a while.

We ran this last night
PLD MT
WAR dps (just put him in some DRG armor and he can pull about 150dps, totally fine)
DRG
BRDx2
MNK
SCH
WHM

first 2 wipes were to mega derps by the WHM (we love him anyway), and downed him on the third pull

Titan is much easier to just dps race him down as hard as you can rather than try to sustain through with 3 healers imo, the SCH needs to put up his sacred soil during stomps, and everyone should be gathered in the center to bait the weights so there is pleanty of room to dodge it to the outside.

Agree x100000, be social, talk to people. Add people to your friendlists that you know can actually do the fight well or join a solid FC. The Titan fight is perfectly tuned currently imo and a lot of the complaints are coming from DF not having a gear check and forcing 2 tanks. It would be ok if one of the tanks was always a War but you normally get 2 PLDs when using the DF.

The only changes I would be fine with SE making is lower the heart HP IF SE doesn't change the DF, not sure how much programming that would require just for 1 fight.

I think a lot of people are with me when I say this game shouldn't be 100% DF'able or have content toned down for DF groups. The AF weapon is a reward not a hand out like the AF armor.

You can easily kill the heart with the 4 dps setup the DF uses. Harder part, in my opinion, being 2 healers. Just from my experiences in pugging Titan, heal requirement is pretty high for a two healer setup with random ppl.

I'm finding it nearly impossible to dodge Weight of the Land. I sat there anticipating it, moved 2 AOE lengths out of the freaking thing and it STILL hit me. The only way for me to consistently dodge it, is to already be moving when it is cast. Which is kind of hard for a monk DPS.
