ALL relic quest progress lost...

I initiated my Summoner relic quest over a week ago. I completed all parts of the quest until titan. I fought and killed titan today as a summoner. When i returned to the quest giver the only option i had was to start the Relic Reborn quest again... It seems ALL my progress in the Relic quest was reset (not by me) my guess is as a result of maintenance. It is as if I had never even started the Relic Reborn quest. I have invested over a week of my life and most of my gil into getting to this point in the quest. I would be devastated if I had to lost all that hard work on this quest for reasons outside my control... I ask that you please help me with this as I should be at the point where titan is defeated in that chain of quests. I also have proof in the form of a Summoner's titan weapon ( I received it after the win)

I am not sure when exactly it was reset, but I first noticed it 9/12/13

I just wanted to reply to this thread because I had something similar happen myself. I was on the part of the quest to kill Hydra when I enrolled in the duty finder. After awhile I noticed that my quest log was completely empty. I attributed it to lag or something and went into the dungeon. After I exited my quest log was still empty, so I restarted the game but still nothing changed. I checked my inventory and saw that I still had my unfinished Gae Bolg. On the off chance I went and talked to the blacksmith NPC. Lo and behold he wanted me to start the entire quest chain over again.

I submitted a ticket to the help desk but the only responses I've received were about the repercussions of abandoning a quest and losing all progress. I've clearly stated to them that I in no way abandoned/canceled the quest. An actual response from someone instead of a generic reply would be most appreciated. It's comforting to know someone else experienced a similar problem. I feel for you.

Hello there, folks. I'm sorry to hear about the dropped progress, I know I'd be furious if that happened to me. This is an issue that has occurred and been reported quite a few times, and we're currently discussing how best to handle getting everyone resolved with the dev team. Please be patient with us while we work out the best solution, and once we've settled, I'll do whatever I can to make sure everyone who has been a victim of the issue is properly addressed. Until then, I'm going to go ahead and leave this thread open so that anyone who is affected by the same issue can put their information in, to make it easier for us to locate at a later time. 2/2 unable to complete hydra battle, "Duty complete" appears on screen but then we do not zone out of the dungeon. Relic quest is locked at this point in time and unable to proceed. i have a similar problem too but im not very sure if it was me being stupid or the bug. i was abandoning Lancer quest that i in my Log and im PRETTY PRETTY sure i didnt click on the Relic quest at all and then i realize that my relic quest is missing(up to chimera). went to get the quest from Gerolt..have to start all over again

I got my 2nd job (Bard) to Lv50 and was trying to do the Relic Weapon Quest for that job. The quest dialog told me that I have to abandon the current one to accept this quest for another job, so I did. End up lost both of my quest requested items just to find it all my progress were lost. It hinder me greatly and I can not afford another quest weapons for both of my jobs. I wouldn't mind redo the quest but at least I need my quest items back.

This happened to me on Chimera. I was doing the white mage relic and we failed Chimera and for some reason my quest lost all progress and I had to start over. I did place a call to support without any response. Considering that Chimera is the very first fight, I really only lost my weapon and materia so I just started over. However, someone who is at Garuda or completed Titan has invested A LOT of time in this. We play this game for fun and losing all of that hard work to start over is NOT fun. Please SE, do the right thing in this matter and restore these players' lost time and progress!

Adding myself to this list. Just lost my progress on my SCH relic today after the garuda hard mode fight.

It happened after my garuda hardmode duty failed, I left the duty through the duty finder, since everyone else did, (Yes, I'm sure I didn't click "abandon" under the journal by accident, as 25+ other people have pointed out to me.) I exited the duty, and standing there noticed my quest log on the right hand side didn't contain my relic quest. I opened my journal to confirm it was gone, and it was. I then went back to the NPC for the quest, and the only option available to me was to start the quest all over again.

I had made another post about this, but it seems to have been locked for "insufficient information", so I hope this is enough. I still haven't heard back from SE's customer support either.

Well then, seeing the subject of the email was "Template", I'll assume you didn't even read the original message I sent in saying the quest was dropped without me "accidently" doing it. I exited the garuda hard mode duty, the quest was gone. It's that simple.

Well the same thing happened to me after the major maintenance to add the additional servers. I had just finally beat titan after so many tries and i got my ore needed for the quest. Logged back in after the maintenance and it said i needed to kill titan again. i was so pissed i have not attempted titan again yet.

I and my party no one got alumina salts after we beat chimera at a relic reborn quest. We have won for 3 times but we all stuck in duty till time's up and duty was failed. I fought as white mage to get Thyrus.

It took me a LOT of gil to get the materia for the weapon they sold for 80k both.. I cannot afford that again..
It bothers me that the message for that hydra fight and that it requires 8 players is somehow only in the chat.. so easy missable..

Please Square Enix be good and fix this. A lot of people simply cannot afford the materia again. I do not mind doing the bosses over, but the gil is the problem.

Same thing happened to me, cost a lot to get the stuff.

had similar issue for my blm on cactuar server at around 530pm est 9/18/2013 ony my character polly prissypants after i zoned into ifrit hm for the start of the primal series for the quest. freaked me out at first then after I found out I had to start the chain all over (on top of having my teams running back get traded to the colts) I was a little bit more than frustrated. Im ok now but im going to have to sped time and money farming to get the sanguine sceptor made on top of getting groups formed for hydra and chimera( not hard fights I know) without queuing in duty finder on top of doing ifrit again. however, it could be worse if from what im hearing people are having the same issues after downing titan which makes ifrit laughable.

I was logged in for a good amount of time and got disconnected randomly, when I logged back in I joined a party to do Hydra battle then I noticed that the quest was gone.. not in tracker or log. I went back to the quest giver, Gerolt, and talked to him and now my whole quest line has started over!? I have the Unfinished Omnilex already and equiped (and beat Hydra because I didn't ditch the party, I already said I would go..) but now I have to do everything over again including buying the book and expensive materia again? This is ridiculous. My quest needs to be put back at least to where where it was at Hydra.

I was logged in while doing some shopping in Ul'dah. I randomly received a runtime error and the game closed. Upon logging back in i noticed that my relic quest was no longer on my quest tracker (Was on the part to obtain a hyperfused ore from Titan HM). I checked my Key Items and my White Hot Ember (Ifrit HM) and my Howling Gale (Garuda HM) were no longer in my inventory. I went to the quest starter Gerolt in Hyrstmill and sure enough he had the quest available but at the VERY start of the chain. This bug just kind of destroyed my ambition to play the end game now, having sunk so much time and gil into getting this far in the relic quest only to have a bug destroy all that progress made me not want to play anymore lol.

EDIT: I DID not abandon this quest, just to make sure that is 100% known by the Dev Team.

After initiating the duty to fight Hydra, I accidently zoned in to the fight solo. Being unable to get out, and unable to teleport home, I thought that I had to abandon the duty in order to exit without being killed by Hydra. At that point I realized I lost the entire quest, and after speaking to Gerolt I had lost ALL progress on the entire Relic Reborn quest chain, including the Champions Lance + melded x2 Savage Aim III Materia (as well as key items from each part of the quest chain up to Hydra). The only item left in my inventory is the Unfinished Gae Bolg relic weapon. I would never have abandoned this quest chain had I known this would happen, and have lost hours of time. If this can't be fixed I have no intention of redoing the chain or continuing to play the game.
