So forced-grouping starts at 15

Sad to discover so much non-core story content is gated by forced-grouping: Retainers and Mounts being the two most obvious.

I don't mind the story being forced-group, I can live without it but these other things have no business being locked behind it. :mad:

Complaining about needing to group with other people in an MMO... I think that Skyrim is more your style instead.

Silly OP. It's an MMO. Grouping should be a core part of the game's mechanics and story. If you could solo dungeons, what would be the point in even qualifying them to be dungeons?

Expect to play with other people in an MMORPG, if you don't want to severely limit yourself. Not sure what else to say given that... it's an MMORPG.

This is the kind of attitude I hate the most. People enjoy playing MMOs solo too, that's why jobs like Beastmaster existed in FFXI and is scheduled to be released for ARR. There should be no reason to lock essential components of the game to party dungeons. It's asinine and really goes against Square's promise to cater to all play styles.

Here's the problem, tho: 90% of the game *IS* accomplishable solo. Having to group up do to a Guildhest, Dungeon, etc once every few levels is hardly "not playing solo".

Beastmasters only went solo in FFXI because they ruined party XP (because their pet took a percentage of it). So they were almost always kicked from every party.

Nothing wrong with wanting to solo. It's a playstyle choice. MMO's are fun for everyone to play because there is an ever-expanding world. Offline gaming does not offer that.

This still doesn't address how major components designed to enrich the game experience are pulled away from people simply because, "You don't play like me, so you can't play like how you want at all." It's not game-breaking nor exploitation to play solo. Why must he/she be punished for that? It's a rather nasty oversight on the company's part to exclude people like this.

Only if the Pet was a Tough. Otherwise it only took a part of the beasasters XP, not the parties. It was misinformation like yours that got BST exiled from groups.

But you are Lv 50 Pugilist. What in the world do you do solo at end game? I'd really like to know because I like to solo when I can.
