Tired of Elitist? Just be patient

I only find that about 1 of every 5 player is an elitist and are usually never in for the long haul of the game. The best advice to give about this: Wait about 3-6 Months, They will drop like flies back to games like WoW or go to whatever new MMO comes out they think they can play to make themselves feel better about being better then the other 90% of the community at content.

We can only hope, but it seems that they may a have won a bit this time around.

Not that #2 is horrible or anything, but it might further drive the elitism to a higher lvl...

Blame SE for the item level requirement thing. Try doing titan hm with people still in whites and not having enough HP getting one shot from titans unavoidable aoe mechanics.

For primal fights, I think the Req is acceptable, but anything before that isn't all that necessary.

Party recruitment window is a great welcome. It be nice to know people on your server who you could actually go do dungeons with.

Yea a server party recruitment is very welcome so that we may easier make friends with those we want to instance with more :) Found some nice ppl in DF only to find out they are not on same server so unlikely to see them again.

This has nothing to do with elitism, This is to stop parasites in level 28 gear from joining your level 50 content trying to get you to carry them so they don't have to work for their gear.

I like the way u think, when i remember how hard it was on FFXI to get a party together and how u actually ended up making a new friend after every party u went to, makes me think DF is actually a brutal error in game. People seems to just want fast runs , won't be long until they start complaining that u should watch youtube videos about all fights in a dungeon before doing it.

I actually think that the item level requirements for the dungeons will be way, WAY lower than what people are asking right now.

Can't wait for it... will be fun to see that they'll have no excuse anymore.

As people say it's to stop the fate grinders to show up in AF and rest level 20 white rings/belts/etc and try to get carried.

I'm so glad sub started for 1.0 and soon for new players....we need to ween them out this is getting ridiculous in the dungeons.....see ya later not gonna miss you

Most the time it has nothing to do with someone being an "elitist" but rather someone who wants to complete a fight and can not because others think they can bypass the grinding of gear and get carried by the ones who spent the time to get it. I admit it is very frustrating to do a fight with people who are not geared for the fight, I also admit to being part of that problem when i wanted to rush my relic weapon and then i realized it was not my parties fault but my own for not having the gear to complete the fight. I changed that I have been grinding and grinding and was able now to complete Garuda with ease and can run AK in my sleep. Everyone wants to throw around the word "elitist" when 9 times out of 10 its not elitism its frustration.

I am the farthest you can get from elitism and will be glad when a lot of that calms down. However, I am very happy about the new requirements and I have not even done the higher dungeons yet. Personally I waited until I was much higher level than required for Bray, Cutter, Qarn (and worked to get better gear - GC and materia enhanced - in the meantime) so I could be better prepared and not be a burden to my team. I have ground my levels and won't even attempt to play the other dungeons until I feel I am ready. Titan was no problem for me and I am coming up on Garuda. I will now feel that I am ready when the time comes. I would not have been before.

I don't understand the mentality of racing ahead through levels (or BUYING them) without learning to actually play. What benefit is there?

I would like to know what an "elitist" is, and I would like to see the info you used to make the first claim (1/5 players).
Also please share your method to see the future, it could help a lot of people.

The bigger problem is people showing up to dungeons and raids in AF and Lv30 accessories.

Which DF dungeon requires gear better than AF?

I'm kind of annoyed with people assuming AF = shit player. Had a guy early-ragequit Garuda HM the other day because I was in WHM AF head, body, and legs... despite me having the damn Garuda Wile (WHM weapon.) Anything before Titan HM can be done in AF, GC weapon, and AH accessories as long as folks know what to do or are keen on learning as they go along.

Look, if I want to do a fast AK speed run I have a list of requirements I know we need. I know what my DPS is and what my healing throughput is. If you don't meet those requirements, you don't come with me - end of story. I don't want to hear whining about "elitism". What it really is are people that want to be carried quickly through content. They want good gear fast and they aren't willing to do what I did to learn the dungeons and constantly improve my clear time. Sorry, I won't accommodate those players and you shouldn't either.

I'm equally ticked with players that use solo queues for speed runs. Ummm, no. The DF is for people learning the dungeon.

While I am not anywhere close to a endgame level on my characters and won't be for a bit, I am what you call an elitist.
Before I attempt certain things I want to have myself built to maximum potential.
Meaning all of the abilities and gear available to me, which also includes properly leveled "subs" and the best gear that is available to me at that point.
And guess what, I expect the same from you!

While I won't call people out in public for being leeches, gimps or morons; If you're the cause of a screwup you can expect me to tell my friends to avoid you at all costs.

And I for one certainly welcome the iLevel requirement with open arms, now the game can tell you you are not ready to do certain content.
So I don't have to.

I am actually really glad for the gear requirements. I am not one to get upset with someone quickly and will even try to accommodate them, but when you queue up for AK and you have a level 45 weapon, half of your accessories are level 39 or less and the only "decent" gear you have is the AF gear... then you are really holding the group back. Maybe if I had more gear on my BLM I could have better carried the guy, but I myself am just barely over the threshold of gear requirements so it just doesn't work.

We had the AOE going off on the rock golems in the first boss (you should be able to kill them before that).
We had the bees staying up until well after the first knockback (they should be dead before you get pushed back).
And the last boss we hit the hard enrage... (ran out of time to see how much more we could improve). I didn't even know there was a hard enrage on the last boss until this run...

Nothing against the DPS pug with us, he seemed like a good player... he just lacked gear that no amount of skill can make up for. Because of this we wiped 1 time on the first boss, 6 times on the second, and 2 times on the last (before we ran out of time). Nevermind the trash pulls being... difficult... because of slow DPS.

There is NO reason to be running that dungeon with less than all 45+ gear... they hand it all to you in quests while leveling. And specifically, nothing less than a 49 white weapon since again... they hand it to you in a quest. If this is your second 50, then you should already have unlocked your GC level to be able to BUY the level 50 GC weapon. Please, do your group a favor and go get this stuff because you are keeping people from clearing the content.

Its not how you say it, its who hears you say it. Most people who are the type of person to show up to a HM primal fight wearing whites are the same people who are going to make any excuse in order to feel better about what they do. I was doing a HM Ifrit we had a Scholar who had a total HP of 2076 and MP of 2260. He was not wearing any rings had 2 Ilevel 28 pieces (neck and bracelet- Both white) Even if we killed all the nails he would get 1 shot. His heals were not potent enough to negate any damage and when the other healer started telling him to focus on casting his shield he started freaking out.

After 3 solid attempts with him dying we decided to call it, I very kindly told him he should try running Wanderers or AK to get a few pieces and get his HP up to the point where he would live... his response was "Fucking elitest Melo, you think you're so good but you clearly suck or we could kill this guy"... thankfully our tank just called him a troll and left for us.

This happens all the time and something simple like a gear level requirement would make a huge difference in guaranteeing the people who try to join the fight at least have enough hp to survive the big nukes.

you have to clear AK o get lvl 50 GC weaps. If you have already cleared it then yes people should know what is expected of them

which is why if you read the sentence before that I said there is a level 49 from a quest and a level 45 green from the GC. I mentioned this (the second 50) since I was anticipating people trying to say "well I already did the quest on one class so I can't do it again, dur hur". Go clear AK once on your FIRST class (shouldn't be hard, since you should have the correct gear) then you can get the gear from your GC for that class or any additional classes.

Elitism: the attitude or behavior of a person or group who regard themselves as belonging to an elite.


Elitism is NOT: wanting your group to be properly geared and for everyone to have a fucking clue.
