Warriors UNITE! Lets find a use for HOLMGANG!

I think this skill is Gimacky at best, lets summarize what it does.

For Six seconds, it roots the tank and the target. 3 minute cooldown.

It adds no hate, and it also stops you from turning left or right so if you arent facing the target when you use it, you are stuck not being able to hit it.

SO, who actually likes this skill?

works great on general barovis when he fixates, can help to keep a mob near you if you are having trouble maintaining threat on it

but thats about it

Sounds like a good PvP skill maybe :P

That fight has nothing to do with threat. He targets someone then chases him, then you use HOLMGANG once if you need to.

It also stops the target from turning, so what I do is I stun, run behind and use holmgang.

^^ This is what it's for.

Basically 10 seconds of not being hit on single mob. (unless 360 AOE)

This.

It's great for add control, i.e. adds on HM Garuda. You keep them rooted in place without them being able to even hit you if done correctly.

I use this for Garuda's sister adds when I pick one up, if done properly it really helps hold it in place when they fly in and wont go to the rest of the party and rape them.

Demon Wall Knockbacks.

Also that slime thing that switches targets and wants to go after the WHM also get's frozen.

Pro tip, on Batraal in Dark hold if you Holmgang him it delays the time before he connects to a crystal, but I just use it when he spins around to take a pot shot at the healer becuase I am auto attack target so he cant do anything until the countdown is over as he is stuck in place.

Hmm interesting. What happens to you and the wall if use this on Demon Wall as it is about to Repel ?

You're rooted so you don't get knocked back.

Repel is just a DPS race hurdle to keep you from just hammering away at the boss. Me? I Holmgang and Carry On.

This. It's like a counter to gap openers like the DRG backflip.

Could you use this on the lunatic priest to stop him from summoning the Psycheflayer? :D

Probably not, he resists pretty much everything.

Firs,t you should be able to use it to anchor yourself before a knockback from a boss. Big PvE reason right there. Second, on a boss that fixates or become 'untankable' for a brief time, you can use it to buy a few seconds for your healer/dps to run away. And thirdly, the reason I have a cyber boner for this skill is, holmgang->brutal swing dance on your face mode when PvP comes out. Make it to the enemies healer holmgang them in place and scream BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! or WAAAAAAAAAGH! or FOR THE EMPEROR!

You would definitely have a lot of fans among the Coliseum audience in Ul'dah!
