*Raise* Issues with animation time

Im ok with the cast time what is horrible is the amount of time it takes to get up and be able to move your character. Its atleast 5seconds or more and thats alot of time when trying ot not get hit by AOE on the ground.

Plus as a healer even when there name pops up if i heal to soon it wont hit them. I need to wait till they move be for i can cast

I totally agree, it's rather awful. Especially during the endgame content.

Few seconds of immunity would be nice. Especially during Ifrit HM.

I completely agree - there's been more than a few times where I've Raised someone/been Raised myself only to have them/me instantly die again because of the heal/movement delay.

+1, add my vote. Something must be done. It's horrible raising someone only to see them instantly die a moment later because my timing was off or the boss instantly agroed the raised.

You can choose when to accept the raise. Accept it during a safe period. All the bosses do things at regular intervals so it's pretty easy to determine when it would be safe to get up. It's part of the game, and it makes sense as there is no cap on how many combat resurrections can be cast in combat.

You're not suppose to be rewarded or treated special with a nice "immunity for a few seconds" after a raise. Be smart about how and when you send out raises and accept them. Making things easier isn't always the answer. There is hardly any death penalty as it is.

If the raise part was instant this would work but lets say its a safe part [ Healer has a chance to raise uses spell speed CD casts rez ] Other player waist for safe point to take rez.. Player takes rez it than takes 5-8 seconds to gain control of your character. this mean no heals no moving but you can take dmg. Plus rez costs ALOT of mp at lvl 44 its 600+ and i only ahve 2k mp so when it all goes to waste its a real bummer and a game changer.

Don't need immunity, healer just needs to be able to actually heal the targetted person while they are in the res animation.

FFXI raise all over again , getting raised only to die again with an AoE lol

we need tractor back!

had this happen to me earlier today, was resing the tank so he could go pull aggro off the healer (since me and the healer were the only ones alive at this point) got him resed, started to heal...AOE he died again. this happened twice...then i died...

So you never died in dungeons? genius.

Here's a solution. Level THM to 26 and get swiftcast. It takes the waiting out of casting raise. Lets you focus on where you can "drop" your raised player. I usually try to drop them in a safe spot and watch their animation until I can throw them a heal. But yes the lag between raise and when they can actually get their first heal is a bit much in those tough battles.

What point are you trying to make? I don't think he/she ever claimed not to die, only that if they died, they screwed up and accept their mistake. FFXIV is incredibly lenient on death. You can rez all day and it doesn't matter. Most MMOs either severely restrict in-combat resurrection or disallow it completely. Why? Because it's more challenging. It makes people have to play correctly and not screw up and thus get better.

I agree that placement and timing should be challenging players, but currently the feature is disappointing. Insta-raise make things better too, undoubtedly. But I think the point is that, as it stands, battle raise is pretty much useless, too random to be reliable. One can see it as a "very mild chance to actually be useful", and considering repair costs, one might as well not even try to raise (or not accept it). The point is that SE should either make battle raise actually usable or just disable the feature. Also the fact that you can take damage but not heals is rather frustrating, not to say outright illogical.

what if raise healed the target for 100% ? D: outside combat isnt OP and in combat ....to avoid dying again ><

2 raises and even if u are 100% healed u will die (-30% hp is a lot)

doesnt WHM have spell speed skill ? as for SCH I simply: Swiftcast->raise

otherwise the only solution I can use is SS myself first before raise as a WHM

issue is even while raising they cannot be healed while they can be hit and killed. Also, "not dying" as a solution is silly, you think people will all be running flawless raids?

The issue is not in the cast time but the time it takes after the dead person accepts said rez and had a 8 seconds wait before they can do anything but can be killed in the process.

oh that, sorry for the miss understand of the main topic

It is a pain in the ass Raising someone or getting raised yourself only to die again because you can't move to get healed for a second or two.

This right here is the issue. Also why I used a frypan earlier. When raised they are IMMUNE to all assistance however they are 150% open to attack. They can't move. They can't be healed. They can take AoE damage. They can be single targetted for range damage. I know this because I'm in the habit of watching arrows so I know who to start healing before they actually hit. When I see an arrow arc through the air right at the person I just raised...

I think animation isn't the issue, just more of how vulnerable you are.

I'd say throw in a temporary invincible time of 1 GCD unit at least after raise animation is complete, or make it so you can actually cast on people during their raise animation (such as Stoneskin... and that would be one of the FEW times it would be REALLY helpful).

Oh and AoE heals don't work, tried it.

+1. The raised one should be invulnerable untill he can move. The weakened status, the raise mp cost are enough penalty. And instarez has cooldown of 60 seconds, otherwise u rather die than finish rezzing.

I've not yet done later to end-game content where raises during take place, but is it possible for the person who gets the raise to wait to accept until a timer from the boss goes off? This, of course, only until a fix for this can be implemented.

Yeah, once someone casts Raise on you, a box pops up on-screen where you click a button to 'accept' the Raise. Once you click it, you're brought back to life. In the heat of battle, though, a lot of people just insta-click the Accept button without considering the upcoming AoEs and very frequently get killed again before they can move / before the healer can heal them.

So much butt hurt over my comment in this topic. People honestly walk into an MMO today and want everything gimped and striped down to easy mode. I've been playing MMOs for a long time, please understand where i come from. Players today really don't know how good they have the death situation in this game.

Reviving during a boss fight should not be a walk in the park. A good team of players can and should be able to get through things without death, ideally. My comment about not dying is a real solution to the problem, regardless of how obnoxious it was stated.

For the record I am all for being able to heal during the revive animation. In fact I find it odd that we cannot. But instantly getting up and having control just sounds to easy mode to me, and I feel the same in regards to any form of immunity from damage for a set time. In my opinion, leave the animation.

Raise is the most annoying spell! Makes angry every time. It becomes such a waste of MP because the person has died before you can heal them. If they can take damage they need to be able to receive healing!

Also the Raise from the healer LB 3 should raise at the casters location, not where they died because sometimes it has become a void zone.

Honestly, I'm just happy we can raise during combat at all... Yeah the animation time and whatnot can be annoying, but I gotta throw my vote in for raising with more forethought.
