PS3 loading issues & FATEs have become unplayable

Version: PS3 (320GB Slim)
Server: Shiva
Character: Athelisia Lumi
Problem: FATE monsters not loading, other players not loading in during fates, environment pieces struggling to load in.

During Beta Phases 3, 4 and Early Access I had no issues with participating in FATEs. Everything would load in just as you'd expect and apart from the very occasional slow down from all the moves going on FATEs ran very smoothly on my PS3.

Since launch and more specifically since the maintenance on the 3rd, I have found FATEs near impossible to participate in. Players will disappear and monsters won't even show up. I've just standing still to see if this makes a difference and most of the time it doesn't fix the issue.

I've also noticed that there are issues with version bits of the environment loading in, when warping back to some cities big placeholder items like buildings and bridges have been missing. I've walked into rooms that look like giant halls that are populated by rooms, corridors and NPCs are a few seconds loading time.

This has only been effecting me since the games launch so it's very much an issue that isn't on my end seeing that the game ran perfectly prior to launch. It seems to get worse every day.

Sorry to tell you this but with the shear number of different things going on, the PS3 isn't capable of handling those things. I'm a PS3 user as well, so your just going to have to get used to it.

Yes, especially on the Fates with a big boss mob. Behemoth was impossible last night, I got killed over 10 times just trying to get the image to load up so I could attack it, I failed, and never got off one attack, so 0 exp when the Fate ended. Never saw the aoe or attack markers either, so no idea if Behemoth was going to attack or not in an area.

I'm not going to get used to it. I'm a paying customer (100 days on my account) and have posted my issue in the subsequent area of the forum. I'd rather you not tell people with issues to get used to them.

It's making my experience with the game frustrating. NPCs bearly load up when I'm participating in SOLO content. It worked perfectly during the EA period, first few days of launch (aside from the 1017s and 90ks) and Beta period. These times were also of high congestion. I've tried playing during quiet times on the server (where I get in with no que) and am still having issues.

This will mean it's impossible for me to participate in Behemoth. Part of the game. So it means I'm at a severe disadvantage.

It should get better once more people get through levels, it seems that people are in packs, I've been places and done fates where I may be alone or one of only three people attemptng it. Then you have the Dragonhead area it is just AWFUL! I was tanking Svara and every time she used her knockback she would disappear and I would lose target. Can they possibly introduce a player culling option? I don't need to see all 30 players attempting the fate I just want to load the mobs.

duceTRE: While it may be true that the PS3 isn't capable why did they bring it out for the PS3? There has to be a way to fix this, and if there isn't I want the option to switch my account over the PC. I have a PC but I really wanted to play the game on my big screen. During Beta I was able to play my PS3 character account on my PC, but now I can't. While grouping at 50 shouldn't be an issue since there are obvious player limits, what about world boss mobs? FFXI had some great world fights, in those situations PS3 players may not be able to participate.

Any information from DEVs/Tech support would be much appreciated on this issue..

EDIT: I forgot to add the graphic lag. Input works just fine if I watch my ability bar I see the abilities go off and I can even combo, but the graphics don't load for some time after.

I did do a search and that didn't come up. Just a bunch of older threads about the same issue in the General Discussion thread and not in this one.

Sadly I wish they were rendering at all for me :'(

Yea, it sucks. :( Especially those FATEs where all you have to do is kill x easy mobs, they die too quickly.
What I find funny is that when things don't load... as soon as they die, I see them all! hahahaha

At least for us PS3 players, this is server side... That doesn't mean the PS3 hardware doesn't contribute to the rendering issues, but---

Yea, it's horrible. Running to FATEs and waiting for the mobs to load (if they even load). FATEs where you gather items suck too, have to wait for the NPC to load so you can hand over the items. I hope they do fix this somehow. Guy who says to get used to it, fk that. Nobody has to get used to something that isn't working as intended. If no one reports these issues, how else will the developers know that something's wrong. Anyway, I'm sure the Devs are trying to find a solution.. it's horrendous the amount of lag/latency issues there are now, especially during FATEs.

I'm happy to wait for a solution but to just accept this is not good enough. Still only level 22 atm but I have still had a few instances where I lost out on exp because I couldn't attack the mob. It is annoying that the world seems so empty too.

I find the other issue is the terrible priority system.
This is for both loading and targeting.
I can't even access some NPCs due to the overwhelming number of carbuncles and minions my os3 deems much more important then a static portion of a game to progress the story or an enemy that's killing me!!

Fates suffer from my point of view as I can't even click a mob as i target carbuncle over and over again (why is it choosing to target some randoms pet over a mob?) as these fate groups smash a mob before I get a chance to land one attack.

Anyways that's my rant and 2c worth haha

Get used to it? Your ridiculous. In fact just stay out of this thread. If you pay for something, it should work end of story. Especially if there is a monthly charge. If this game could not be supported on PS3 then it should never have been released. But it was and now it's on SE to make it right. I never had these issues on PS2 with FFXI with 100 people in the zone doing any NM/HNMS. Defiance on 360/PS3 also has massive battles with tons of enemies and that runs great. This needs to get fixed.

PPL like Dulcetre are the ppl responsible for problems not being addressed with their " get used to it" / "suck it up" attitude. Why do they even let ppl like this respond to threads beats me. There is no reason why ppl should get used to not being able to play the game. It is inexcusable that players cant complete fates or other content just because the system cant handle it. If they thought this was going to be a concern they shouldn't have released the game for PS3. If this is going to be an ongoing issue then I want full refund from the company. I payed for this game so I expect to be able to play it. PPl are leaving this game as the weeks go by. The problem is that they made this game cross console, knowing the PS3 wouldnt be able to handle it. Only way to fix this is doing what DC Universe did: Phases.

Make sure you turn off all the animations, it certainly helps.
