History Repeating (quest)

I was a little disaponted with this quest as you don't actually fight Siren in this quest just trash mobs that are being controlled by Siren.

to my understanding Siren is a Primal.

when i heard that Siren was going to be in FFXIV i was hoping for a fight like Ifrit, Titan or Garuda

if I was to take a guess she would be summoned by the Lamiae? (yes I know this beastmen tribe is not in the game at the moment)

Yeah, same, was pretty disappointed when she was just stood off in the distance. Although I did love the quest, music was pretty creepy and the whole setting was cool, would have been better if we actually faced her.

Is there any trick for the last part of this quest. Its proving to be a nail in my side here. I can clear the trash mobs just fine until the last boss guy. Its not really him or the mobs but the bubbles.

Im dragoon so kiting doesn't really work all that well, considering it seems if a bubble explodes and I was near it at one point, it will hit me no matter how far I am from it.

It almost feels like one of those quests where im not doing something right. Ive seen a youtube video where a dragoon fights the duty but hes level 50 in endgame gear....and even then it gives him a bit of trouble. Not sure if I should wait on this quest or what. Im level 43.

So is there anything im missing here. Tried kiting the boss guy tossing javelins at him to avoid the bubbles but they some how always manage to hit me

as I was trying to do this at level of the quest I did this quest as SMN with Titan tanking the mobs/boss.

Doing the quest on SMN I had no issues and did the quest on my 1st try.

it might be worth trying the quest on LNC and not DRG as at least you have access to cure and second wind

man keep going further before saying anything about questline.
once you hit 50 and enjoy the ENTIRE thing, you'll be mesmerized and I know it.

last dungeon in the storyline is kinda nuts. I mean 5 boss battles in 1 dungeon how nuts do you want it to go

After 3 deaths as Monk, I went as PUG + heal and protect(conj) instead and it was a piece of cake!!! :)

I'd like to know how you used Titan to tank cos for me, in the main storyline quests, Titan does not hold aggro. The mobs just go straight for me. Maybe I am bugged I dunno.

I had no issues with this.
I don't know if its a bug or not but pet initial hate goes to you and not to the pet.

I normal send in titan first before attacking using the SIC command

I took a break from the quest after 3 deaths. Funny cos the next time I tried it I breezed through it even though I was playing like a lunatic. Of course it helps if you don't run around like a scared little girl straight through all the bubbles :)

I enjoyed the fight, even if we didn't take out Siren herself. It was deceptively difficult the first time I went through the quest since I didn't take out the magic wielding skeletons who chipped away at quite a large chunk of my character's health. I'm glad we didn't kill Siren there, though - it leaves room for her to show up again in the future as a Primal battle of the same vein as Ifrit, Titan and Garuda.

That's what I am hopping for :-D

mind you including Siren there is about 4 potential Primal fights to be added to the game based on the storyline.
