[LAG SPIKES] - Unplayable!

Dear SE,

I'm a patient man, but I have my limits. I never complained about the server congestions and the time it took to solve them. I never complained about an ill working queue system. I never complained about random disconnects and I never complained about all other issues this game has had since beta.

But this really is the last straw. The camel's back is broken guys.

The game is utterly unplayable now.

The game has extremely frequent lag spikes. Whenever I engage a mob everything suddenly stops moving for 5 to 60 seconds - as if your servers just stop sending information to my client. After the massive spike, the game tries to recuperate and the lost time happens in hyper speed. The direct result? Leveling has become frustrating, dungeons are UNPLAYABLE because the group keeps wiping due to my 5-60 second inactivity, FATES result in disconnects.

This is game breaking SE. This can and most likely will result in the loss of subscribers. You haven't replied to my ticket yet and it has been some time already. When you do I surely hope you have a lasting solution.

same hero bro and i live in Japan....even if i play in JP server its still desame im having so much lag its unplayble but when i try playing other games it works just fine T_T

I am also having the same problems. Lag spikes and freezes everywhere - unplayable.

same here, I won't (can't) play until they do something about it. It ruins the experience of playing this game, this is really game breaking.

Lag spikes and constant 90,000 errors. Quite frustrating when I have to restart a cutscene three times.

I'm glad i don't experience the lag issues, must be tied to certain servers that are way too over populated or over populated in certain zones.

I am getting the same issues, game is unplayable whit this shit going rampant, how am I supposed to progress in my story line if I cant even stay online long enough to get a que to pop in duty finder. I love this game but I wont be renewing my subscription if this is still going on when time to sub happens.

It sounds like the need to do a roll back because whatever they did for five minutes last night has just guttered everything up completely.

I was actually just about to post about this. I'm playing on a PS3 and my ISP is Verizon FiOS. Could this be the ISP issue i've read about? I have no issue doing anything on my internet, from Netflix to other games and multiple people on at the same time, but with ff14 it's nearly unplayable. I know PS3 has graphical issues displaying things all the time, but what I'm experiencing is straight up lag, 5-30 second loss of info.

I'll run my rotation twice before anything actually happens, and it all happens at once, then stops again. I'm a tank btw, so it makes it kinda tough to keep mobs on me when I pull and it takes up to 10 seconds for anything on my screen to react. At that point the mobs are already over everyone else, and I'm now struggling to bring em back to me.

Any fix in the works? Any acknowledgement of the problem? It only started on Launch day, Beta P4 and early access I had no issues whatsoever. I always switched servers from Cactuar to Siren to try to get on a lower populated one at the start of EA. Maybe I'll go back to Cactuar and see if it's happening there?

Only workaround is to use a vpn to get to the game servers using a route that doesn't screw up until they get their networking issues solved.

I feel your pain, I am on PS3 as well and dealing with these issues as a Paladin is unacceptable because you can do what you're supposed to do in group situations. I have been all but unsuccessful at completing the Garuda fight and other instanced dungeons because I lag too much to tank it properly or keep up with the mechanics. It sucks to have the game lag out when you have to run behind the rocks to avoid AOE or when you lag out and can't get hate on a group of mobs before they're running everywhere. I also have issues of the game not registering targets movement and have mobs frozen in position and I get a "target not in range" error. At first I thought it was just my Playstation, or my connection speed, or even my wifi, but these have never been an issue any other time.
