Yoshi says there's not enough Tanks or Healers.

Why is that?

I ran Amdapor Keep well over 45 successful times and I haven't seen the Tank body, or head piece, ran Ifrit over 20+ times.

Everyone's weapons except PLD dropped. Multiple times.

Dragoon x 4
Black Mage x 4
White Mage x 1
Scholar x 2
Summoner x
Monk x 2
Paladin x 0
Hmmm look at those odds. Maybe if tank and or healer gear dropped more. Pre 50 gear was reasonable to find, but the sad part is they were just normal dungeons. Now I'm trying to progress farther into the relic story line.

My gear is mediocre and I can't get drops for my tank. How am I supposed to tank these hard battles ( for pick up groups) if I can't even get gear.

Just an idea but maybe dropping some gear for tanks and healers might be a good idea if you want people to play. I'm just asking for a fair healer/tank to DD Drop rate ratio.

DDs will always be there. That's why they're so popular. No matter what the cost, everyone plays them.

Everyone plays them because theres 5(?) DD classes and only 2 tank 2 healer classes.

Totally random, other people probably had the opposite.

Reason there is not enough Tanks/Healers are the exact same reasons as every other game, More dps classes, they get treat like crap at times, more difficult to play.

I don't think 45 runs is appropriately high enough to make a solid statistic

I can't wait to hit 50 and run this place forever and never get my weapon :D

... knowing my luck though i'll get it within the first 3 tries.

6/24 = 1/4. 25% seems good enough for me.

I'd be a tank if there more options. I'm not a fan of axes, nor am I a fan of white knights/paladins.

Oh the Warrior got 6 drops! That means a tank got 6 drops...your point? Ooooh this is a Paladin QQ thread...

Game either likes you or don't in most cases.

I always get tank/dps armors, but I play as a mage. Good for second job leveling or so I guess, but my main job would have enjoyed mage gear.

Maybe Yoshi needs to worry about how many E90000's there are in the server.

last 2 instances was 90% paladin drops...... so lameeee

Think i've done Ifrit HM with my Warrior for over 30 times alrdy.....random is random mate.

My first 4 or 5 dungeons the majority of gear that dropped was for tanks.. this thread is invalid.

RNG is RNG. The reason there's not many tanks is that we get yelled at even if we do well, very off-putting.

ITT: OP mistakes random distribution for conspiracy against Gladiators, other people make fun. More on this exciting story as it develops...

In all my dungeon runs I've seen nothing but heavy armor drop for tanking (which I might add, I'm not allowed to roll need on as Dragoon despite it saying I can use it).

Random numbers are random numbers; you already get instant queue time, you now want guaranteed gear as well?

Its all about luck, first time I did IFRIT HM my scholar weapon dropped. Since then I have been in IFRIT HM several times trying to help friends get their drop, with some getting lucky after a few runs and some who have done it to many times without getting any luck.

Same here, i am level 30 (dont know why this forum avatar wont refresh :s) and i did every low level dungeon twice, ive seen al lot of tank gear drop.

My char (archer) had about 5-6 drops on those 12 runs, were i won 4 of them.

Hmm im confused now, on my run ifrit didnt drop anything (normal)and i tought that was intended? Or is that only in the story part, were we first encounter him?

In all of my Ifrit, Garuda, Titan hardmoves I've ran, I've literally seen like 95% caster weapons, 80% being healing weapons.

you need hard mode for drop, that mean finish main story

ITT: ppl who are upset they are not fully geared from end-game content in an MMO after only 2weeks of it going live...

Nah~ That's just rotten luck on drops. ^^ The real reason I think is because people are fearful of being ridiculed for just about anything/no apparent reason (no matter if they're good, or just new) instead of being understand, or helpful to make the person into a better tank/healer. If I didn't have my family to play with I'd certainly be afraid of going into DF. lol >.> I mean if people didn't have their tight subligar ridding up their behinds, not bothering to pick it out, and be helpful and kind to others then there actually might be more tanks/healers. However that's just my opinion. lol ^^;

Maybe it's because the gameplay of Tanks/healers isn't "fun" for most people.

I know there are players that like the roles but there needs to be more then just being a meat shield that stands there doing puny damage and hitting aggro skills, more then a healer that sits there in back tossing on heals.

Warhammer even made healing more fun then most mmo's. As a shaman you actually needed/wanted to fight and do damage, as this built up a meter which in turn made your healing skills better and more useful. So as a healer you actually took part in combat and didn't just stand back hitting heal over and over, unless you wanted your healing to be less helpful.

Tank wise, this is where Moba games have took it ahead, it's just more fun (imo) to play tank roles in mobas, where tanks aren't merely a shield who does no damage. instead it's more about being able to disrupt/taunt, and you can still do decent damage, you don't feel "powerless" when it comes to having an impact on the battle.
