Amadapor keep.
that one is too hard. People in duty finder are not ready for that. Don't wanna waste my time wiping with pug
I agree. I started running it with server groups because honestly, half the DPS that queue up for Amdapor Keep are full AF with some POS weapon and cant even kill adds fast enough on first boss much less do anything significant on the demon wall. Instead of gearing up in wanderer's palace, they think they can go straight for AK. There really should be an iLVL restriction on the keep, imo.
AK is too long to spend the entire time with a crappy PUG...especially if they don't know the rush method.
YEA! ILVL restriction is a good idea. SE come and read plz :D
If you just want the tombstones and no chance of other gear run the last storyline mission over and over.
How many do you get for AK anyways?
If you haven't capped on mythology for the week you should do amdapor regardless. You'll get a lot of people who don't know what to do, but if you're a little patient and explain the bosses to them, most of them will shape up and succeed eventually. Some won't, but... Eh, what can you do.
If you just want philosophy, meridianum is probably more efficient if you're solely doing duty finder.
My guess is that the average player on the DF is not as skilled as many and requiring higher ilevel gear can somewhat makeup for their subpar skills. But the issue is 1. you need to do this dung to unlock ilevel 55 GC weps, which is why you find alot of people do it in AF. It is not that hard for seasoned MMO players, but not all who will be doing this via DF are at that level, and this is why I prefer to do the dung with FC friends.
I did this this morning before work, and that was with me being groggy from lack of coffee and the DRG (I think I called him MNK during the fight. That was how out of it I was) half AFK because he was moving from his house/apt and the BLM in AF and being completely new and dying and a SCH as healer.
ilvl restrictions were never to weed people out, they were to allow groups to perform better even with bad players. That said, Keep is not hard. All you need to do is explain the fights to people and give them a chance to learn.
You're right though, people can and generally will suck. If they don't learn then no amount of ilvl will auto-correct their stupidity.
One of the things that Wipes my AK raids the most is just lack of DPS on the adds. On the first boss, those adds need to die quickly or else you can't DPS the boss. Same thing for the Demon Wall. When I run these AK raids on Summoner, at least I can have my Egi and ShadowFlare continue to DPS the boss while the Adds are handled, but other Melee and Black Mages don't have that option. Kill them adds yo!
Castrum gives 100 stones of Philosophy and it's by far the easiest to run. The last instance of the storyline Praetorium also gives 100 stones of Pholosophy. Maybe a little more for Praetorium, I only ran it for the storyline 1/2 asleep at 2am and I didn't pay attention to how many stones I got in total.
AK? not worth it for Philosophy stones.
How do you unlock Amdapor?
Wanderer's Palace is really fun, and relatively easy. You get 50 Tomestones per win.
Clear Main Story
Aurum Vale
AK.
Also, it's part of the GC promotion line so there's a quest with them that unlocks access.
Amadapor keep is by far the best option.
For me Castrum is hand down the best farm place to start at it gives 100 Allagan Phil stones and if you make a group yourself or get into a good group it can be done in around 30-40 mins. After that the easiest is probably Amdapor Keep which also gives you Allagan myth stones 40 of those and 60 Allagan phil stones and it takes around 20-30 mins to do.
My biggest concern at the moment is that to get the full set that needs AMS and this is only the armour pieces not including the belt it would take at the least 11 weeks to get since you at most are allowed to farm 300 per week and the total cost is 3135, 3510 with belt so 12 weeks if you want the belt aswell. Thats almost 3 months for a full set and my guess is that within 3 months or just a little more there will be better gear made available. Which gives the question will it be even worth it? :(
I'm certain the cap will be abolished when better gear is released and of course put on the new tokens :p
This is some good info!
