Remove login restrictions. Let everyone log in, let the servers crash. All the afkers will get booted. We can all play together, we can all wait through downtime together. Bring up the servers and keep them up as long as you can. Only letting a few people in, and leaving most of your customers trying to login ALL WEEKEND is an inferior approach.

amen I am 100% in agreement with this, this has gotten way out of control you told us next week we would be getting fixes well last i checked today is monday...how much longer is it going to be? I mean seriously how hard is it to code in an afk boot after 30 minutes and a login queue?

If they open the gates instances, dungeons, and duty finder will become broken again. I prefer the login restrictions. And although yeah it be nice to get rid of the afkers but you can't have everything, what can I say, that's life.

All the AFKers will get booted... but so will all the legitimate people too. There are far more legitimate players out playing the game than there are people AFKing somewhere. Just because you're bitter, don't be stupid and suggest something so childish like "SINCE I CAN'T PLAY, I DON'T THINK ANYBODY SHOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY!"

As Yoshi-P said, there were 120k people playing the open beta concurrently (aka: at one time). 120k is a LOT smaller than the people who have the game now, and are trying to log in and play. Far less than half, in fact (as the dev team said that if they took the number of people trying to connect and play across all time zones at once, it would be 300k+ people). If the game had only sold 120k copies and that's how many people would be trying to play, things would be fine. But it's not. They sold a larger number of copies than that, in addition to the 1.0 people coming back and playing, so that there are more than 200k+ people trying to play. Their servers can't handle that. Removing the login restrictions, booting the AFKers.. none of that would work to allow you to play this very second. If they did that, the game would be crashing. Constantly. Nobody would get to play.
Does that explain things better?

People AFKing are not the primary cause, but they have been identified by even the developers as a problem. I proposed an easy to implement idea that solves that problem. I don't claim its perfect, but I think that the aggregate playerbase would be happier with being able to login when the servers are up, than playing with a queueless log system in that realistically shouldn't have been a problem today or even in the last 5 years of modern software.

Yes it's a monday but in the US (and probably Canada), it is LABOR DAY meaning it's a holiday so only the minimum people are at the data center and NA support is closed for the day. I would also say crash the servers and reboot with a quene system in effect. in fact, they probably will do this on Wednesday to get everyone off.Quote:
