Yea, I've more or less given up. Game was a waste of money. If a team doesn't even have basic infrastructure in place to allow people to play it, how much does that say about if they care about their work? Just a money grab

I don't think SE predicted the great demand this game was going to get, despite preorder numbers. The only thing you should hate are the RMT bots clogging the servers and the people who are AFK that are too afraid of logging off and not being able to log on again.

Yea, I'm a little confused. I had trouble logging in this morning, and even when I got in queue (56 people in queue)...and my fiance logs in first try...while I'm still in queue?!
I got home 2 hours ago and all I'm getting is "unable to obtain the world list" but my friend is online.
What's going on?

Yes, it must have been pretty tough to predict what with all of the people who preordered, had existing accounts (legacy or not), who applied for the beta, and who participated in the beta (where these same issues occurred).

I made a backup character on a japan server, since they didn't seem to be having a lot of the issues we were, and I come home just to see now I can't even log into the japan server. ugh...

Getting kicked out or dc result me a back into line and turned out world is already full.. Just.. ughhhh noo noo no.. I just played for only 10 minutes and get tossed out? rly mon.. come on...

4-5 hours downtime during primetime, wtf are these people doing!

Make a new server and allow free xfers to help spread the load or something.

I dont think its going to happen, unfortunally I got jilted by a massive lag spike and then havent been even able to see na/eu servers since then, I am really upset at this point because I have been looking forward to my 4 day weekend all week long

It's ok guys I mean SE is a new gaming company and they've never launched an mmo before so having problems like this are common place. I mean, its not like the company has been around for 30+ years and has launched multiple mmos in the past or anything. Why should we expect them to be able to handle there own infrastructure.

I was playing and then kicked, then said NA/EU servers were not on list. I waited they said they were fixing it, they just posted a message saying everything is up and better and then I tried to get back on and it's still just JP servers won't even show mine. I am in Cactaur. I don't care about having to wait to get in or to keep trying to get in but, they posted it was better and it takes like days to get through by ticket which says most get tossed anyway because there is too much volume. :( I just lvled my thurmaturge to 15 and was ready to get smn. Very disgruntled.......

Your comment says more about you than anything about SE.

Also, last time I checked most companies don't recreate failed games for a quick money grab. If anything, Yoshi and SE wanted to give the current players what they deserved and bring their company image back up, as stated in his live letters. Just like many of the skeptics and haters of 1.0-1.23, I doubt that even SE anticipated this much of a positive reaction and anticipation of the game. What does this mean? It means that Yoshi created a game better than he believed it to actually be and therefore underestimated the popularity of the game.

Slated release for the 27th, if you consider early access the 24th then. What is it today, the 31st? Been a whole week with log on issues. I don't believe ANY MMO has had any issues especially where the player cannot log on for going on a week now.

This whole thing about we didn't expect so many players to be on on Go time is so full of crap, it's really making me laugh. They had and known how many preorders were out. They should of made the appropriate preparations to make sure the 27th of August would be met with no limited access or restrictions AND should of had Servers put on stand by if there were a need to expand on the fly. I'm honestly thinking what the Managers at SE were thinking when none of this was planned out ahead.... why wait till RELEASE day to start shifting about with extra servers to each data center. Where is the contingency plan? Each day that this crap continues is really putting ALOT of your customers in a really bad spot with not much good to say about the final product. This is by no means a ready game, the 27th was the first day of your nightmare SE.

You guys are suppose to be Grade A+ company with massive experience. The preparation on your behalf is embarrassing to say this is SE's product. I hope the CEO is putting some fire on the Server Management team AND the team supposedly doing the analyst for what they thought was needed to ready this MMO for ALL the preorders that took place and then deciding that the current setup was sufficient when it isn't by any means.

Really Awesome Job.... really damn embarrassing this is coming from SE.

Haven't been able to play all day long due to the game being unable to locate the server lists. All day, it's been switching between being unable to find the JP lists, then being unable to find the NA/EU lists. I really, really, hope the Sept. 4th maint. will help alleviate all this. Thought escaping to a JP server would save me from this, but apparently not.

If you honestly believe everything written in a company letter I feel bad for you. He didn't make a BETTER game than believed, he MARKETED the game better. Your entire post just shows how you believe a company that has created great products in the past but has failed miserable in recent memory, can do no wrong. It may continue to be a profitable firm but in the end smart consumers shun weak products and move towards superior ones. If you're willing to settle for subpar, I won't stop you.

Actually the game is frickin sweet, one of the better mmo's out there without a doubt super super fun to play

The difference between being an adult and a child in concerns to something like this is that an adult would have just cancelled their account, threw the game in the trash and moved onto something else while SE goes bankrupt and is auctioned to the highest bidder.

It's children that keep discussing the issue regardless of what side of the issue they are on; being negative or positive.

Wrong, being an adult means not giving up. Despite what you might think, I love the FF line. So I WANT it to succeed, when people have an interest in something they get upset when it stumbles and want to see it go better. All I'm seeing is that you give up on everything that doesn't work out.

there is no spam: if you actually get a start button, then u have to contend with the wait for the world list, assuming it actually comes up it makes u wait to tell u the world u cannot access be it jp or na. At this point then u can begin your slot machine spin to win will u get in loading screen only to see... snake eyes u lose world is fulll 1017. The game is pretty good. Anybody who believes they remade the game for fan service must enjoy Christmas and when Santa comes over and eats the cookies you left him.

Final Fantasy is gigantic title. To have it fail monetarily would be a near fatal blow to the company. This HAD to be done. They needed the huge turnout PLUS need people to keep their subs for the next 2 years to cover what they probably spent dev'ing the entire project.

Yea, I'm an adult, and I haven't been able to log in all weekend. I wasn't able to log in a few times throughout the week, as well. But you know what? No big deal. I have other things to do and plenty of work to take care of in regards to my career. We're been promised compensation and so we will be compensated. Moving on ...

1.0 is part of the "entire" project and purpose of my post. The point is, leaving it how it was wasn't an option. They still have to cover those costs and all that's going on now.

They should make overflow servers that are parallel to the server clusters we play on. That way, even though the server we are on is full, we can still play our characters and progress and still be in queue to the real servers. Like GW2, I guess.

I know I made a joke about everyone moving over to the JPN servers and I actually questioned the validity of the idea, myself... but this is a good attitude and it's sad that so many people are crying over a few days. Out of the 10 years or so this game is going to be up, I'd rather the first 15 days / 3650 sucked(and don't even suck, the game is still fun). That is less than 1% of the time for this game. In fact... that is closer to 0.004% of the time. I think we'll be okay.

It could be worse for you. You could be lvl 49 one min and the next your starting at 0 because of a account issue that seems to be taking for ever to get fix, if it gets fixed, that the boat I'm in but my lvl was 33 summoner. Like I said you have to keep on keeping on.

I am unsure of where I wrote anything about believing everything a developer says. Just as you assumed that high server loads = quick cash grab, you again assume I am a naive white knight because I decided to give you an explanation to ease your pained mind.

As you responded, I guess if an emotional and tearful speech from Yoshi along with all of his passionate posts and live letters still give doubt that he is just in it for the money, I guess I won't stop you either from believing what you want. I am still unsure of how you were able to conclude that a company REMAKING a game is a wise choice to make a quick cash grab as it is very risky, but I guess you can still just believe that too. I agree w/ you on everything else and I am also slightly annoyed at the server problems, but I don't considering my choice to be content as settling for less, but an active skill where one learns to be satisfied with what isn't great so that what is great can be enjoyed.
