Can i have all your things?
Oh wait, you're level 14, lel.
Sorry they try to fix things for you guys.
Why bother creating an entire thread? If you want a refund all the information is there in the manual.
Have fun with that endeavor.
Were it not of this thread, I would not have known where to look either for a refund. It should be a sticky if you ask me.
Edit : @OP I don't think it's worth asking that question in a Final Fantasy Forum, you will most likely get flamed.
I purchased my copy from Square Enix, so I went on hxxps://www.findmyorder.com/sstore?Action=DisplayHomePage&SiteID=findmyor&Locale=en_US. Find your order and at the bottom of the page click "Request a return"
You know what we won't refund? Their lost honor. And the Japanese treasure that.
wow. Have you ever played a popular MMO on launch? I hate to bring WoW up, but it's apparently the most popular of all. Even they were plagued with a months worth of issues like this before it settled. So, calm down. Go live a life you actually have. Your first 30 days is free. They did this anticipating issues. You want a refund? GO DO IT. We don't need to hear about how your expectations were shattered.

Actually NOBODY could even log into WoW at launch logins servers or the actual servers were down 9/10 for the first few weeks. And after all this time they still break servers on patch days.
Games up and running what annoys me is the random dc after instances or what not and not haveing your place held for a few minutes so you can log back in after spending ages trying to log in in the first place
You're actually comparing a game that launched in 2004 with one that is launching in 2013, and saying it's okay that the more recently launched game is having the same problems? Really?
A smart man learns from his own mistakes. A wise man learns from the mistakes of others.
In business, making the same, stupid mistake that somebody else made TEN YEARS AGO is indefensible.
I agree papa. No excuse. They should have been more thorough in the beta. I played for months and it was nothing but NDAs and hidden secrets. They should have done a more open beta to actually stress test the servers before the date on the calendar everyone has been salivating for arrives and people are let down. I would assume legacy accounts + pre order would have given them some idea of the scope. It seems like they are not even close to prepared. I turn on the game to see a 1017 error that the world is full for the CHARACTER SELECT screen! Then if you can manage to get into that (which I can tonight), all the worlds have restricted account creation. Luckily my beta account exists on aegis which happens to be full. So far I got to log into my account once last night post midnight for a few minutes. I don't want a refund I just want my 30 day trial to be extended by the number of days it ends up being impossible to play this game. Even the forums are torturously slow.
Lol, demanding refunds when playing on free subscription time (Yes, they're extending your 30 day game time).
lol gw2 was horrible at launch, the game was broken and riddled with bugs and issues that after a year still arent fixed, Trading post was down and in maintence 90% of the time for over a month. None of the events worked, and still dont work.
Swtor's launch was the only good thing about the game. Despite the few hiccups from thousands of players logging in at once.
Although I do agree that Sqenx dropped the ball on this one
Let's compare FF14 to a more recent MMO: GW2. I was able to login on the 1st day. It was sluggish as hell, but I got in. And guess what? The next morning it was all sorted out. They had overflow instances. A bit annoying to match up with friends but you could play the game and level up your char.
Anyone know the method to get a refund if you did not buy from SE? I got my game from GMG.
If there were such a thing as a flawless MMO launch overreacting threads like this might actually be validated. It's the nature of the beast for MMOs to experience bugs and major technical issues at launch no matter how much you beta test and prepare ahead of time. Even well into the game's lifespan it's a constant battle against bugs and technical problems. GW2 that people love to bring up had horrible problems at launch and it's having problems to this day. WoW, as old as it is, always has problems cropping up here and there. FFXI isn't perfect either.
There are things SE probably could have done better (like communicating), but if it wasn't one thing that went wrong it would be another. The launch really could have been flawless and people still would have found something to bitch about anyway. Besides, SE is actively working on a solution that we should have early next week if they stick to their timetable. Be patient and it'll get better. Or go away and make room for people who know how to be reasonable.
Anyone who comes on the forums and demands a refund is a troll.
Sorry this is technical support, not billing support :)
ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) Y U NO USE BILLING SUPPORT?!
Therefore you may NOT have a refund. Have a nice day. I know I will *sips coffee and logs in*
It's been 5 days still waiting to play http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r...ramManager.png
I do believe that we should give SE a chance to fix issues but then on the other side why on earth was the server stress test so short? Why was phase 3 or 4 so short? The problems in phase 4 wasn't solved a week later which indicates that they needed more time to test it.
SE should have learned something from other MMO launches and tried to avoid all those problems that the game has had since early access.
Tried uninstalling/reinstalling it ? If it didn't work, try installing the game under a different user account on your PC. If that doesn't work, and you have a spare partition try installing a fresh windows on it and installing the game after. Basically im sure theres an install condition you could find to have it working. If theres no error message, the image seems to be missing the web content, maybe its a firewall issue ? Did you disable your A/V before installing it ? Tried running the installer as "Run as Administrator" ? Could be that there is software interfering when you're installing it, that's why its worth installing it under a different user account with maybe AV/FW disabled.
I've tried everything: Disabled both my AVG and windows firewall, Turned my AVG internet security off, reinstalled it several times since launch day, then I tried running it in compatibility mode and it worked everything showed up started to install the game and then lost connection to my internet( which is very common cause our ISP sucks in our town) then I restarted my computer and then it started being blank again so I run it in compatibility mode again and this time it didn't work.
All in all I just want to play the game, it was worth my 49$ but it just refuses to let me install. :'(
Except there's no 'stupid mistake' in MMO startups. Would you rather they spend ridiculous amounts of money on extra servers they'll only need for the first month, only for them to gather dust as the login rates settle and dwindle? No smart business would do that. Every MMO has a proportionately larger # of people logging in at once up front during launch as opposed to the actual # of players once it evens out, and thus we see these issues happen in most MMO launches. It's expected, and, really, there's no economically smart way around it.
I think he paid 30$ for the game, not sure, just assuming, I could be wrong, maybe he got it free.
Also, regardless of the technicalities, aka, it works, but the service doesn't, I think he shares a legitimate concern with thousands of other users and since we live in a system where money talks maybe if a large amount of users started asking for refunds things would be fixed faster... maybe, just maybe ?! What do you think?
PhabeJewell, in your case... The game is fine. You have a routing/firewall issue.
Check the iptable chains in your gateway device and yell at your ISP.
AGREED! I'd love a god damn refund! This is absolutely asinine. Now my ps3 is telling em 'you do not have an account for FF14. Would you like to link one?' THEN when i do it tells me to buy a copy from PS3 store. F" THIS F*CKING GAME!
LOL returning things you're not satisfied with... LOL!
Honestly, the launch week is the most exciting time for an MMO. All of the momentum and buildup of anticipation - and then not being to log in or create a character on the same server as your friends, knowing that tons of people are playing RIGHT NOW, and you can't do shit about it. I'm sure a lot of people had made plans to play during this holiday weekend or even took some extra vacation time to really dig into the game. I bet they really enjoyed spending their benefit time trying to log in to a server.
So yea, I'd rather just say 'fuck it' and get my $30 back and go do something else with it.
This is total and complete BS. I paid for a game and I cannot play it. I can't log into a single world.. This is outrageous. Hello? Anyone home? THE GAME CAME OUT LAST TUESDAY - WHAT THE HECK IS THE PROBLEM!!! Who do i contact about a refund? Need my money back. Would the Better Business Bureau be able to help here? What kind of amateur hour crap is this?
listen world of warcraft fagets Yoshi made 90 million dollars this weekend he could care less if you hate him or the company he works for lol
Playing on free subscription time? I'm not playing on any time because I can't log into a world. Wake up dude. This is disgraceful. Really. SE should be EMBARRASSED. I thought they were a polished, upstanding company - guess not.
Butthurt much? You're not the only one experiencing this problem. I'm having this problem too and you don't see me freaking out over it.
