My gobbue mount that I got in 1.0 was not in my inventory, or do I have to wait for a certain level for my mounts to open up?
Also, my new characters that I create do not get Hermes Shoes, I think that is what they are called, that I got from linking my FFXI account and FFXIV account.

i have the icon but when i click it, i get that message about not being able to call him.
getting a little ticked off about this, especially since my in-game tickets regarding it are not being answered. -

Mounts can't be called until you have the chocobo license... If you had 1.0 chocobo license, you should be able to find the chocobo whistle, use that, then start using your mounts. -

I suppose the chocobo license should rather be a "ride a mount" license.
Anyway, you indicate you see the Goobbue in the Actions & Traits -> Mounts so you'll be able to call it once you get the chocobo license.
You can get that after joining a Grand Company through a quest called My Little Chocobo. -

isn't the "riding license" only available after the Ifrit fight and then joining a GC?
i think that's why i opted for the gobbue originally in 1.0, thinking i'd be able to carry him over to ARR. -

The ifrit fight and joining a GC really isn't that far into the game so it's not a terribly big burden, I got my riding license at lvl 22 and doing it solo. Yea, I couldn't ride my gobbue until then either. I'd double check the calamity salvager, the horn was at the very bottom of the list for mine. Worse comes to worse, I'd submit a GM ticket about it, it might just be in error.
