Incorrect Region: This Code is Inapplicable

OK, SE, I get that it is launch day, but seriously I've been on hold with your phone support for NA for well over 4 hours now (Talk about patience! I have it, but it's wearing thin.) The code that came with my physical collectors edition is invalid, and will not apply to my account (This code's region is inapplicable). I tried your chat "support" no luck there either. All I get anywhere is "All available customer support representatives are currently busy"...yada yada yada. I tried sending you guys a ticket on Saturday, when my EA code wasn't going through (Luckily, a buddy had an extra code that applied [thankfully] to my account).

The problem is I moved from the EU to the NA region (Now living in bright and sometimes stormy Florida...yay!). So I had to order the NA version, but my account is still EU. Honestly, SE, would it be that much to ask that we could switch our regions like every other option in our accounts? I can, after all, switch my state, my zip code, my address...and everything else. What gives?

All I'm asking for is a little bit of help. Not even 5 minutes of a representative's time.

So I bought a copy from a store via e-bay, turns out they sold me the PAL (EU) version and I'm NA so I think I'm having the same issue. Any resolution, break through yet? I still have my original 1.0 account that I'm playing PC version with, but I bought PS3 CE to be able to swap between platforms. Loved it during the open beta.

Breakthrough? Its only been a few minutes. Like I said, I've now been on hold with their "NA Support Center" for neigh on 5 hours (based on the count kept by android's dialing pad).

support chat keeps kicking me out of the queue when i get to the single digits and i have to start at the back again, i just need a NA preorder code, they gave me two for other regions and sony refuses to fix it saying it squares mistake they need to replace it. if i can't redeem it i don't get the items. i already missed early access at least give me the hat and doll (T~T)

Good luck with this. I have the opposite issue. I was in USA region for FFXI, but now am in Australia which comes under EU. I spoke to EU live chat last night who told me that they will not do Region changes, so the only options are to
1. - buy a new NA collectors edition of the game so I can continue playing my early access characters (that was a whole other issue...my pre-order code didn't work, but SE counted it as redeemed anyway, so a US friend had to get me a US pre-order code). Oh and the NA Square Enix site will not let me buy a NA copy anyway as my IP address is wrong for that region.....
or
2. - make a brand new account and apply my physical EU collectors edition code to this account. This would mean losing my characters, my pre-order bonus items, but most of all I would no longer be able to play with my son and partner as that server is closed to new characters.

That something so simple as a region change is not possible is beyond my comprehension. I still don't get why this artificial regional locking exists anyway.

I also have an EU (CE) code but it's useless as I have an NA account.
