This is not a f2p or a b2p thread, this is a simple question I want SE to answer, how do they expect me to justify giving them money, when I can't come home, and login?

Maybe the ppl who's crying for no additional server can answer your question . . . cuz I myself cant justify it . . .
White Knights ride in!! Explain that every MMO launch is like this (it isn't... also that makes it worse not better)
They explain its not yoshi fault (actually it kinda is...)
They explain that you should just not play the game (funny cause we can't...)
The point is valid and it stands unanswered by SE.
I'm just going to point out that besides paying for the game itself, you shouldn't be paying for it yet. Come back and ask again after the payments are needed. If things are still broken then, you'll have an argument for not paying.
Actually that's the 9th for me, close enough to be worried.
You can't really justify it. That aside you don't start paying any sub for a month. If its still broken don't start subbing.
Would be nice for an extension of the trial period to match the server problems length.
The game includes 1 month of game time (which you paid for the game) so yes you are paying for it already if you used your code. And don't say that month is free, because it isn't it is part of the package deal when you buy the game.
If you had a deal of buy 2 get 1 free for 3 dollars, you didn't actually get 1 free you got 3 for $1 each. Hence you got the game for a portion of total cost as well as the play time of 1 month for part of the total cost.
Honestly. . . . I would be fine and none bitchy about it if SE mod comes out and said. . . "OK GUYS WE'RE TRYING SOMETHING OUT (some form of detail) HOPEFULLY WE GET THIS FIX IN A DAY OR TWO (some kind of time frame)" So far what their only solution is to limit players from playing the game? Id rather they take it offline and really fix the server (if this whiteknights really believe the server can stand all this). Then come back on when it's all good to go.
Lets face it Diabol 3 and Sim City 5 had this problem. . . . Those are none mmo games. They fixed it with more servers. SE knows this but they're being cheap. White knights believe that o it's a waste most ppl will just abandon the servers after 3 months anyways. Believe me more ppl will abandon this in 1 month if they cant even log in.
i myself had no problem playing since EA, but if i was on your position, i would wait and see until the free 30 something days expired. If problem still persist, it will be stupid to pay for a game you cant play
what blows me away is servers that are locked to new characters are still full.
they let them fill beyond capacity and cannot support the amount of people who play on that server.
I guess its a good thing they give you a 30 day free trial. The argument will be well founded once your free play time is over, if the issue is still presenting itself.
Until you "must" pay a subscription fee, the argument is trivial and based on a "what-if?" situation. There's a good chance that the server issues can be resolved within the coming weeks. So, wait it out before you make the argument. Play on with the free time and have some fun!
Quit worrying, and just enjoy yourself. And remember, it is only a game. If you get frustrated because you can't get in, there are plenty of productive things to do in real life, try again once you calm down. This way you won't feel like you wasted your day, you actually accomplished something, even if it wasn't what you wanted, you won't feel as bitter.
It is true, that positive people have a better life quality. It is all about the steps you take to keep yourself happy.
I am logged in and will never log out. AFK all day baby

If anyone else had issues and are still having problems with the game then the best possible solution is to not buy the game, wait it out or get a refund.
The problem is that those 30 days aren't "free". They're built into the cost of the game. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that the problems are fixed just before the sub fee kicks in. If my friends and I knew that I wouldn't be able to log in and they wouldn't be able to create characters on my server, we would have waited to buy the game until the problems were fixed. We would then have had the actual, full 30 days included in the price of the game available to us. (Not to mention with the whole time value of money and opportunity cost concepts. We could be doing something else with that money now.)
So, no, it's not fine as long as they fix it before subs kick in. This first 30 days is still time we paid for (not to mention legacy players only get 14 days). And honestly, if things continue as they are now right up until that 30-day point, there are people, myself and my friends included, that won't be playing the game.
The problems themselves, though, pale compared to the lack of communication, as well as the seemingly unequal treatment of NA/EU compared to JP. Yes, we got two apologies, and it's great that they're sorry, but we have absolutely zero word on what they plan to do about it, other than continue restrictions (which some could be forgiven for inferring as "We're just going to keep these restrictions in place indefinitely, and eventually enough people will stop playing that it fixes itself."). By contrast, JP servers start having the same issues (ironically, likely in part due to being the only stable option for NA/EU players), and within hours, they get assurances that more servers are being added to the JP data cluster.
Whether intentional or not, SE is giving a very bad impression to its non-JP players. On a related note, I'd love to work for SE's English PR team, and get paid to do almost nothing.
They need to offer refunds. They did not learn a single thing from XI or 1.0
And yes, the 30 days is included when you purchase the game. It is not free time offered by SE and it is not beta time. It is time that you paid for, and most every sub game has this. Even if you buy the game a year from now, you will still get the 30 days free time.
The game isn't bad, but it's not worth it. And if they are so stupid that they cannot fix this easy problem, then I have little hope for the future of the game.
Boot afks, add a queue. Problem solved. Making people purchase a game and then not even let them create a character on the game that they just purchased? I mean really? Really?
The fact is, those 30 days are there for you. whether you believe its free or not. So if you feel that the game worth the wait then give it a go, if not then maybe the game is not for you.
One thing is for sure though.... if the game is not fix by the time that 30 days expired, putting more money into the game would be utterly stupid >.<
This has got to be one of the dumbest things I have heard in a long time. This is not a "free trial." Had people known that they would not be able to even create a character, or be able to log into the game, then they never would have bought the game in the first place.
Wait it out? No, people should not be told to "wait it out" to use a product that came on the market today. The world doesn't work that way.
Yes there are other things to do in life. But I don't see you out curing cancer either, or doing anything else productive for that matter.
Your logic is just.... Well they say a sucker is born every minute..
Issue number 1 : No response from developers concerning the issue
Issue number 2 : The 1017 error (if it is an error) reads " This World is currently full. Please wait until an opening is available and try again." How are we suppose to know when an opening is available? Where is the queue system? Why can't we wait in line?
Issue number 3 : Since log in has been severely restricted and the servers are at "full" capacity, why is there not a afk kicker running? If people are not active kick them so that others may log in.
This should be a very simple thing to address to pacify the community. Why let your customer base become more and more frustrated by not fixing the issue and leaving us in the dark ? Are the number of people playing really so high that losing so many due to frustration is really not that big a deal? How hard would it be to take 5 mins and write a post simply stating that the issue is known and being worked on?
You know, I have some major money coming in the next few weeks, I was planning on spending it on a year of gametime, perhaps I'll give it to SWTOR instead... I just don't know anymore.
I agree with those that would be satisfied with better communication. The apologies are nice but when something like this happens, people don't want an apology, they want a REASON. Once we have a reason then we can understand and once we understand we're not all speculating and getting angry.
If you were actually paying the subscription fee and this problem lasted well past the first month, I'd say you couldn't justify it, but as it stands, you are playing on a free 30 day subscription. I'm not saying that not being able to login is acceptable because it's not. We all bought this game; however, you can't really justify/not justify something you're not doing as of yet.
The achilles heel of Square has always been customer service. Its actually comical they haven't learned a damned thing yet. What makes me even more disgusted is how they have a great stable of development houses keeping them afloat with amazing games like Sleeping Dogs, Deus Ex and Tomb Raider meanwhile they shit the bed with their in house productions of crappy Final Fantasy after crappy XIII spin off and then have the nerve to say the sales for their Canadian and American houses were below expected as if these companies are the ones dragging them down and not Squares in house titles. These guys are lucky to have Eidos and United Front keeping them afloat to continue to screw up their own in house developments. Maybe thats why they havent learned proper customer service, because they haven't felt the financial strain of customer dollars being pulled out thanks to their publishing cushion.
I am buying the game WITH ITS 30 DAY SUBSCRIPTION. What else do you think I'm paying for - a client that can't be used on its own? Would you pay $30 or whatever it is if there was never any game to be had?
They need to fix this, the game is awesome the log in boss is absurd. It will only help kill the game in the end, by pushing away customers.
Holy crap a queue just popped up for me while trying to login into Goblin. They must've read my post from 20ish min ago... As I type I'm logging in!!! woot!
the 30 days isn't free trial time, its included in the base cost of the game
we paid for it and cannot use it. its like saying, 'buy the game we will give you an in-game mount' then the mount isnt there for 3 out of 4 weeks.
if they want to use that excuse then they should extend it at least another 2 weeks AFTER THE 1017 ISSUE IS FIXED before we have to subscribe.
they have no excuse for allowing servers to fill beyond capacity and leaving them that way.
