Sick of White Knights?

I'm a single MMO'er,

I enjoy long nights leveling along the beach, I commit to one MMO at a time and I am quite dependable once I commit. I've had some long relationships in the past but nothing has really come along that grabbed my attention since I drifted apart from my last MMO.

I feel I'm ready to commit again. I know we have already had a relationship and you weren't exactly what I expected when we got together but I still saw the potential for a great relationship. Almost 3 years have past since then and you say you have grown up a bit, that you have changed. Well, I may be foolish for thinking this but maybe, just maybe, things will be different this time.

We have had a few dates here and there during that time so I'm beginning to see the MMO you are going to become. You're starting to look pretty darn cute! Sure you aren't perfect, that's what makes you so much fun! I know right now you are still in rehab so I'm willing to wait till the end of August when you graduate from the program, then we can start going together on a more regular basis. I want to help you grow and I hope you can be the best MMO that you can be.

I'll be here for you SE, waiting, watching, and wishing you all the best on your speedy recovery.

IMO Whiteknights are the ones who attack others for being upset or frustrated. The issue is they're not letting people speak their views and opinions, not what exactly those views and opinions are.

Best exemplified with "Don't pay" "Leave" "Good we don't need you' "You people are toxic"

Ending in the lovely and ironic : "Our gaming community will be better without negative people like you around"

The term white knight is dumb and not even accurate. These people are just sycophants who will suck up regardless of what happens and praise anything with no standards.

I'm not sure which extreme type of player/poster is worse for a game and more annoying: The haters who will be critical of anything and can never be pleased, or the sycophants who (if it was up to them) would have us still be playing 1.0 because everything is always good and fine and nobody should ever be critical, dislike something, or have any standards.

It's really amazing though. The fact that so many "white knights" exist in this community and have been defending the horrible mess since 1.0 is really a testament to SE's ability to build a passionate fan base.

Seems like the OP meant "knight in shining armor," not necessarily white as long as it's shiny. :)

It a way to dismiss another persons concern, just like the term "Troll" or any other term to marginalize people. It just needs to be reclaimed :)

Also people nowadays don't even know when or how to recognize a Troll , now they're calling ''Troll'' or ''White knight'' or some shit to everyone who aren't agreed with their thinking .

I got called Troll in this forum because I was just having fun on a ''Funny thread'' or just giving me opinion and I was like all wtf D: why?.
On my part , I'm gonna keep supporting this game like I did on the 1.0 even I couldn't played too much because I got busy with my studies but I keep paying just to support the game because I knew I was going to play again someday.

If it will stop you people from crying about it all over the forums, then I'll gladly shoulder the errors for you.

I am very pleased with the game so far, and am very happy with the job SE has done. I guess I'm one of the few veteran MMO players that understands launches rarely go smoothly, usually due to server issues. I am also very understanding, of the fact that they will fix the issues, I will get to play, and a few days of issues is nothing to be upset over.

With MMO's in general, if you try to play it the day it releases, it's best to expect issues. It's just how things go with MMO launches (usually, there might have been 1 or 2 that launched rather smoothly). Call me what you will but I am no fanboy, nor was I a defender of version 1.0. I just love the fact that everyone working on this game truly cares, and it shows.

The main point to take away from all this is that, is it really worth being so angry and vicious towards them? What does it gain? I have been upset over MMO launches, including 1.0, but that never warrants such hate. If a game truly displeases you, move on.

I never did understand the mentality of "i'm not satisfied or unhappy about a particular thing so i'm going to behave like a total asshole until i get what I want." When my kids throw a temper tantrum, they never get what they want. At least not from me.

The funny thing is... those white Knights DO need us... how else is the game going to keep running if all the dissasatisfied customers up and left? Simple. It wouldn't.

Just like people have pointed ou the "extreme" white knights and how they are kind of ludicrous, so are the overreactions of the majority of the "black knights". I just wish people would keep a cool level head but apparently I'm asking too much of the internet.
