Bought PC version twice, 1.0 and 2.0 and now confussed.

Hi,

Not sure if I've messed up here, basically I bought FFXIV (PC Standard edition) when it was first released, so I already have an account setup, I didn't play it much so didn't have any high level old characters or anything. Then when I found out about FFXIV ARR and was invited to the beta I managed to sign in with this old account and play Beta test 4, was impressed so ordered the PC version of FFXIV ARR (Collectors Edition).

I redeemed the Pre-Order key fine on the old account and managed to play a bit on the Early Access, now however I have received my game key and I don't know how to enter it. I seem to have an active old account which is showing as 'Standard edition' and says it has 14 days on it, and I also have a code for a 'Collectors edition' which should give 30 days free.

So I guess the question is, is there a way to add the 'Collectors edition' with the 30 days free to my existing account please ?

Afaik 1.0 accounts cant add an ARR key, they were intended to upgrade their service account(which was given ARR) instead if they wanted the 2.0 Ce goodies.
Anyhow, you'd want to be trying to add it on the mogstation thing.
PS: I might be wrong though, so do give it a shot.

why even add it? can't we keep playing already by just having 1.0?

Ermmm - because OP purchased CE so to redeem the CE items ...

you should be able to add it to your existing service account and it will apply all the bonuses to it. be certain you do this, and not hit 'add service account' as this will set up a new account.

Yeah, it's probably me being a complete thicko :p but I can't seem to see any option to add it in this Mog station thingy. I can see an option to add a 'New' Service account which I guess I don't want to do, and I can see an option to enter a 'Bonus Code' which I tried and doesn't work.

I've raised a support request just in case it is more than me being a dummy, it would certainly be nice if they would allow us to add to an existing account so I could get the 30 days added plus the CE, I guess I could always create a new account, but then I'd have to start from scratch again :( (I know, I know, I'm only a level 9, lol).

If I'm not mistaken, it's not possible to register TWO pc version od the game to the same service account hence all the Legacy and non-legacy v1.0 players ordering actuall the PS3 CE versions to be able to attach the CE items to the same SE service accounts.

Welcome to the realms of SE's "user friendly" account management system dungeons ...

I'm in sort of the same situation.
I have 1.0 and in my ultimate wisdom I decided to buy a CE degital. I applied my Early Access code to my 1.0 account and I was able to play. Now I see on the MogStation that my account is standard and have 14 days more to play. I received my Activation Code for the CE and I have no where to enter it. I can only renew my sub, upgrade to CE (which I have pay) and some other unrelated options.

I can't see anywhere any option to enter my CE code. I'd hate to lose 40€. I have already opened a ticket but with the amount of tickets they're getting now, I will probably get a reply in November :(

There no option on mine to add the ARR to my 1.0 account. The pre-order and CE items came through moogle delivery atumoatically though.

The SE account system is horrendous. I pre-ordered the CE because I wanted the CE items. I don't care about carrying on from v1.0, I bought it for like £5 in a sale and played it maybe once.

So because I had version 1 registered to my account they've now 'upgraded' me which means I carry on playing on this service account (the one I've been playing on through early access) and don't get my CE items or I create a new service account, have to start a new character and lose my pre-order bonuses but at least I'll have my CE items...

Wut? O.o

Seems like the only way to make use of the new CE purchase is to register a new service but I don't really wanna do that or spend another 15€ to upgrade my 1.0 to CE when I have already paid 40€ for it due to SE lack of information towards their customers.

@Shori: Did you used to have a 1.0 CE edition or normal one? If you had a CE edition, then that's the way you got your CE items already.

I had a standard account and purchased a digital CE from the SE store which I will now probably not use and waste my money. I can handle disconnects, overcrowded servers, downtime but I cannot handle losing money like this due to their systems being limited. Other games' account management pages allow to apply a CE license to a normal account without having to upgrade from their silly upgrade function.

I'd advise sending in a support ticket and hanging tight really, I'm guessing the intention was that you guys dont need to rebuy the game, but they underestimated how much people want the Preorder goodies!
Most likely solution I can imagine is they just find a way to let the code be applied.

I am having this same problem. :( It is unfortunate if I lose the money because I was interested in the pre-order goodies. There was no option to pre-order just the upgrade, which I totally would have done.

I have a similar issue. I bought the CE code for the items, early access, and piece of mind because they had not put out any info on upgrading to CE for a couple months. When I log in to the MogStation I have a service account named Final Fantasy XIV 1.0. SE put out a list today, and valid service account names for registered games are:

I also only have the 14 days of game time and I have no characters listed with that service account.

I can not update my credit card on my account. It tells me that I need to contact support. I'm sure the system is already crazy, so I just put in one ticket and unloaded all my issues.

Otherwise the game is fun. They're just making us work for it. ;)

Cant add my CE cdkey to my 1.0 account, it tells me to upgrade throught the payment method. That will be fine if i wouldnt bought the collectors edition for 40€ lol . I send a ticket and still waiting...

Which is laughable because it makes no sense. They didn't even bother to read my ticket. They just sent me a canned response and closed the ticket. GG SE!

No option for me either. I had 1.0 and bought the 2.0 CE edition. Only have option to upgrade now and no where to put my key in. Can't get refund either.

Same here, but I bought the digital CE not knowing I could spend the $20 US to upgrade to the CE if I already had the 1.0 standard edition. I'd settle for the 2.0CE upgrade and $30 in crystals, since I have a penchant for buying stuff from the in-game stores... so weak.

I've done the same. I pre-ordered the CE of ARR thinking I could use the code it came with to add the in-game items to my V0.1 character.
Looks like the only way to do this is to do a digital upgrade.
I didn't read anywhere that this was the case waaaaaaay back when I could pre-order the game.
Feeling a bit robbed to be fair.
No way am I starting a new character, put too much into my old one >.<

Got a nice shiny box tho....and a fancy art book...............just no in game items.

Girlfriend has a 1.0 account with pre-order items and early access but now have CE ARR code and can't find anywhere to redeem it to add it to the current service.

Really need some help.

The only known "solution" to this is to use PS3 SE instead and link it to the same SE Service account. Maybe those with physical copies will manage to trade it with someone else (if you have still all codes unused)? I've purchased PS3 CE + PC Standard and can play on both so really don't care much on which system I'll redeedm the CE bonuses.
