Given up...
Giving up. People are either waiting for the launch to die down so they can get in or have tried the game and are moving on.
I enter in my e-mail everyday just to see if SE answered me. No answers of my ticket until now. Then, I enter in the forum to see if theres a way to solve my problem. Theres none. =\
Im giving up...
its pretty sad the only way you can get online is for people to give up man what a failure
It's a shame that so much hard work and time and money went into this rebirth, and yet its going to be completely botched by the most important thing in an MMO. Stability, server space, infrastructure.
Way to go guys. Look on the brightside, third times a charm, right? If they can afford it.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Server Reborn, Coming Fall 2015.
I've also given up. I cant even get my launcher to update and ive been trying for 4 days now and im sick of it. Waste of money.
At this point people have either refunded and left, or are willing to wait for when it's fixed.
Given up and moved on.
Really?
That's cool since I can log in without issues now. Yesterday I played from 18.00 CEST to 2.00 CEST tonight without any problems.
Eh, phase 4 proved that the load on the systems was going to be high. It was hard to know how large a load it was going to be. It was understood in the test forums that if the load stayed high constantly during the early access that they were going to have to make a decision quickly to resolve it.
My money was on that it was not worth expanding, why accommodate for those fickle players that will be on for early access or only be around till the first payment they have to do and be gone from the game. That's lost profit to me the ones that want to play this game I would expect to hold out till all the freeloaders are gone.
I was pleased enough to see that they got a queue in place in such a sort time after what phase 4 proved.
I'm sticking around, I love the FF series and this is no exception. Sure SE are having issues, but is that really a reason to spit your dummy out and start crying? Some people just have zero patience and cause trouble at the 1st sight of a problem, FF is better off without those players.
Checking few mins everyday...hoping to see Tonberry open to create characters...not gonna sit there 24 hours again spamming refresh button on that Sunday...I felt like it past a year after that day...
Some have spammed '0' for hours to no avail, others have logged in within the first several or literally first try when upon booting the patcher.
It seems a dice game for if somebody logged or space was made available the precise moment another attempted to enter their server.
Here in the states, we tend to expect resolutions to problems immediately where as it seems clear SE is not hustling in the slightest and just gradually tinkering with server flow and capacity. It seems inevitable to increase their maximum volume allowed, until then we must endure what appears attempts to save money and incrementally improve performance. One shtick I find on all of this is, early release should be prepared for more players regardless of the angle one takes, I feel, and by intentionally inhibiting log in at a lack-luster pace for the sake of keeping those in happy, when thousands upon thousands others wait to participate in their purchases, seems highly unacceptable and pathetic.
It's been stated many a count an AFK boot and raw server space should be implemented immediately before more lack-luster time is taken to analyze for perfection, and I agree completely.
That said, I'm simply elated when I can actually play that it all fades away until problem arise, if they do, and I cannot log back in. Such is mastery of the game itself I think, that it only enhances our fury when unable to play. I'm positive SE is aware of this but, why they don't take necessary action, aside saving money as the only reason I can fathom rationally, is beyond I at the moment.
I hope you are not expecting to get access to a server that is blocked for new entries that is currently in an attempt try and balance server loads. If you got friends there you are better starting a character somewhere else and when world transfers come try then, that way they can try to keep server loads balanced. Which has always been a large concern in many MMOs first starting, remember Aion even had a very complex system dedicated to server load balances.
Given up......moving on.
Yeah, I can agree with an AFK boot. To say that they have not made any effort is stretching it. I had stated in the test forums that I believed a waiting queue was the easiest for a start. The fact they listened and put that in place for early access which was only days to move and get up says a lot to me.
Most 3rd party companies I work with their development and testing length before releasing to a production system has always ranged from 14-30 days depending on the complexity. Writing a queue to enter a game is far less risky than writing code to remove people from the game. I would not be surprised if they are working on it now, and for the love of god I hope they do not release it without good range of testing.
I mean a program that kicks people out I can imagine multiple of horrible scenarios that could happen with this. To expect them to have it ready yet after what phase 4 proved is unreasonable. The fact the queue is in is proof enough they are trying to move fast but safely.
