Really not sure where to post this, looked all over and checked for dev tags but not really sure, feel free to move this where it belongs.
I'm a high lvl crafter and have done much study into the moon cycles. I have been running through Eorzea and noticed the moon, which appears to be in a waning gibbeus from the pic, but my widget shows moon in half moon cycle.

I believe reading that Hyalderyn (sp?) has a total of twelve moons, maybe the representation on our desktop is a cummulative between them all? Other than that, yes i have noticed it.
Edit: ObeiKinstar, you are right, somehow in my mind i had mixed up a couple of posts and a dev. letter that spoke of the twelve moons (he meant our next twelve months). I have to admit i was wondering how i came to this conclusion aswell and was looking at the sky to find those elusive other 10 ;). -

It is a bug. The widget shows the phase wrong. -

Some people assume that moon phase does something for you in this game because it did something for you in FFXI, yet the Dev team never said it affects anything. From my personal experience trying to test the moonphase and stuff I have literally seen 0 difference while crafting between different moon phases and I think there is other elements at play this time around if not just a random number generator.

The moon phase widget is right, but the graphic is wrong in-game. I've studied it since Dodore's spawning conditions are based on the moon phase.

X = Fog, rain or mist..
The theory is that X will = the same weather condition for an entire moon phase so during say "New Moon" it might go back and forth between clear and mist until the next moon phase -

I'm sorry but I need to debunk this nonsense. Dodore's spawns have nothing to do with moon phases, I've been there and killed him plenty of times so I'm sure and I can confirm moon is irrelevant since I have also fought him on every moon phase there is.
He has a rule to his spawnings; once he starts spawning he will keep on spawning on and off every weather change wich is every 8 in game hours : 8:00, 16:00 & at 24:00 and he will continue spawning for a number of hours (real time, not game time). The moment you see a weather change from sunny to rain and no miasma that is when his window has ended and he will not come back for the same numbers of hours you saw him up. -
