Servers Locked Again..!!

I really don't think I can bring my self to click a refresh button every 3 minutes for another weekend...

Moogle was already closed when the servers came online... which means I cannot play until SE decides to open it. All my friends are on Moogle.

Fun fact: regular servers are closing up BEFORE Legacy servers, as opposed to what happened on beta phase 4 (specially JP servers). On the other hand, they are handling congestion MUCH better than on phase 4, so who knows... The wait may be shorter than you think.

Same here, I am the leader of the FC, everyone is on Moogle, but I can not enter.

They should have kept the limits lower during BETA and to avoid this. This really sucks. I am playing since 1.0 release and I was never this mad and annoyed ....

Open it up already! 1h20m gone and Moogle server was not open for a second as far as I could see!

They are locking character creation? IF they are that blows hard.

Honestly, what's the point of early access if you're just gonna lock servers? waste of money.

Definitely a bad move. All beta characters that don't have a retail code applied to their account by the 30th should get deleted to free up space instead of being in limbo on SE servers indefinitely

They already told you that the servers won't be available for char creation because they are to full. there won't be any char creation till a couple of days. choose another server that is not so full. Sucks for you but I hope you get more luck next time.

They need to lift this lock ASAP. For people wanting to play with friends in a server that is locked this is the same as not having the game you PAID for.

You gotta wait for the new players without plans to filter to other servers first. It's inconvenient and unlucky but necessary to avoid population issues on any server.

Choosing another server isn't really an option when all our friends are already on the world that's locked. This is a really bad way to handle this in my opinion. They should at least let us create the character and then put us in a queue. Leaving players to spam the refresh key until it unlocks is just bad design... We basically cannot do anything until they lift the restrictions. So what's the point of EA?

It's interesting how people are supposed to "suck it up" because they cannot create character on the first day of the EARLY ACCESS.

I agree that server lockdowns need to be lifted ASAP, lots of new players were not able to play the beta and are waiting to join their friends during this early access.

No it is not. SE have NEVER guaranteed that you'd be able to log onto a specific server and play with specific people. It isn't SE's fault that some servers are more popular than others.
You're frustrated and I can understand why, but this problem is simply unavoidable. There is only so much space available, and once it is full, it is full.

It's not acceptable, period. We paid for this, why should we move to another server with no friends then pay for a transfer later? what is wrong with you people.

unlock the servers and use the queue system ffs.

I think this is only partially true. Otherwise, they could not add processing or storage power to the server to alleviate congestion (like it was done for beta phase 4).

This is a multiplayer game. The main reason Im playing this game is because it is cross platform and that allows me and a group of friends to play together. I think it is a reasonable expectation to be able to play with you friends in a multiplayer game. Not being able to do so kind of defeats the purpose of the game. So for a lot of us this is unacceptable, comparable to not having the game at all. A game that was preordered and payed for in full before release on the promise that on this day I would be able to play this multiplayer game with my friends.

It's stupid... there are probably like thousands of unplayed beta characters on moogle and people who have paid money for early access can't get early access.

I have friends who have spouses joining the game who can't play with each other cause of this... Not to mention the friends who I personally talked into getting this game to play with me. I can't believe this... My 20 friends and I get locked into full servers to keep us away from new players, but now our friends who want to join us get locked out... Come on SE, this is BS and you know it.

Really, there is no way for anyone to justify this. For example on moogle when I logged in (yes i have character from beta 4) the queues were as huge as 15 players, and it was like hour after the server was already restricted. In MMO it really is the same as not being able to play the game at all for people who would play the game with their friends. It's not a solution to say to them that "go play on other server", as they would have to start it all over later or pay to SE to transfer their character to server they wouldve wanted to play on in the first place. Its absurd that a server is locked right away on the first seconds of EARLY ACCESS. SE really f'd this up.

I don't think they understand...the people waiting to get on the locked servers are not just going to go to another server. They will wait or give up on the game altogether.

They should just lift all restrictions on character creation and let the very high queues sort it out. Those who got lucky in BETA 4 and were able to make characters should not have preference over those who were not so lucky or recently purchased the game. Everyone should wait in the same queue.

I like how there's more JP servers than NA/EU, considering the western world apparently has way more players.

Actually wait no it's not. But still would adding anymore to at least NA/EU help?

It's called "early access", not "priority access". This procedure was already made clear beforehand, and all the complaints in the world are not going to change it. Continue banging your head against a brick wall here, or go back to the game and watch for a door to open..... I'd prefer to watch for that door ;)

You know what the best thing in all of this is? The fact that as usual SE probably don't give a s**t. They've always treated customers just as a money in their wallet. Their customer service is horrible, as we can see it now again. Is it because of japanese culture or what is the problem? When it comes to for example Blizzard, they have always been so much better when it comes to customer service. And they have like 50 times more customers.

I think there were exactly the same number at the start of phase 4 but they added a couple extra to the JP region because of population

I totally understand what you're saying, but I still don't accept that this is SE's fault. You and all your friends, IF you so wish, could all team up, start again and join a new and uncrowded server together. SE can't let everybody play on Moogle server. They just can't. Why don't you have a chat with your friends about playing elsewhere? If they start over they've only lost a day or 2's progress, but you all get to be together

Now i wanted to create a character on a Server that's not full yet and SE tells me the following

"You can't create any more Characters with your Current Account"

Wow i do only own my old Legacy Character. Thats 1 !! Are you kidding me SE ?

This happened to me before, you should not have to delete anything. Try logging all the way and back in...just hope that server doesn't fill up in time that takes.

If people plan to have a group of 10-20+ friends all trying to play on one server, it makes no sense to try to jump onto the most populated ones on launch day. Make a separate character on a different server for now...there is no need to do a transfer later; you can easily make a new character when the server clears up. It doesn't hurt to have more than one. People need to calm down and just handle playing on separate servers for a day or two until the populations on other servers start evening out. If they can't deal with it, then they should request that the rest of their friends move to one of the newer servers such as Lamia or Faerie rather than exacerbating the population problems further for other players.

Why is not a legitimate option for you to ask your boyfriend to play on a different server with you? You can still join him on the other server once it becomes less congested.

Still no word on server locks. It would be nice to know if the servers are going to get unlocked before official launch..or ever.

My friend wasn't able to play in open beta and now my server is locked out, I would really hate to have to reroll to a new server just so we can play together.

The servers are going to be intermittently locking for the next 4-5 days minimum. Please stop making a new thread about it every time it happens.

There were posts by Square Enix indicating that they would be implementing locks on high-yeild servers. None of this should come as a surprise to anyone who had put effort in researching. Nothing prevents anyone from playing on a different server, even temporarily until the locks are released - if they absolutely must enjoy the game with a locked out individual immediately.

Is it bothersome? Absolutely. Is it pathetic/horrendous/inconceivable/etc? No. It is not. This is launch, SE made the decision to encourage players to roll on newer servers. They were faced with a challenge between two significant inconveniences and they made a decision you did not agree with. That is all.

Let's unlock the servers that are already at capacity so the thousand(s) or so people on the server can't play due to lag but everyone else can get in who also won't be able to play. Makes sense to me. If they could do without the lock, they would.

When they allow players to transfer, they should just give everyone a free one so people can go to their friends.
