and besides trading in melded gear how else will we get tomestones for this stuff

Unknown at this point. This could be just for 1.0 players who have spent alot of time and gil melding gear and a way to redeem there long hard work in creating there sets.
Might just have to run dungeons to get darklight like the old days. -

There are most likely other ways to get these tomestones; the list has new gear not present in 1.0 and crafting mats required to make the Lv70 crafted sets, and AF+1 is also listed so highly doubt these things are just limited to 1.0 players. I remember Yoshi-P saying we would get tokens for dungeons that we could save up and trade for gear if were unlucky with drops so this might be it; the real question is how much tomestones we can get at a time. The tomestones used for AF+1 is limited to 300 a week so its gonna take quite a while to get a full set.

There's a lot of reasons why you can figure this is the case. The location of the NPC and the fact that they are obviously not beta-only due to the other stuff she carries, the fact that you can hold leftover tomestones, the fact that camp revenant's toll has quick access to a lot of high level dungeons, and the fact that there is a section for tomestones in the currency tab. -

Cant give an exact number because it depends on the rarity of the materia and the number of rare materia melded to a NQ/HQ piece.Quote:

Ifrit/Garuda/Titan Seals & Totems can be exchanged for tombstones
Odin/Behemoth horns can be exchanged for certain items as well -

I can only asume that some tomes are for cracked materia and redemable for darklight and the other tomes are for the people who cant beat a dungeon and will be able to trade for a lesser verson of darklight. -

Also note that on the currency tab, tomes of mythology (AF+1) has a "0/300 This Week" note... while philosophy (darklight) has none.
Which makes me think philosophy is either unlimited or only available for 1.0 players to make use of cracked melded gear,
while mythology has a weekly limit from endgame raids. -

I've done some trade in materia and melded gear. Only gear melded with cracked materia can be traded for tomb. Cracked materia can be traded to a new materia of the same tier.Quote:
