So about the next patch (1.17)

7 days into the month, and still nothing in the 'testing in progress' section for 1.17

Can we get some info on whats going on and what we can expect? (besides the easter egg hunt)

It's been a long stretch but we should be getting something substantial anytime now.

It's gonna be like shaking a soda bottle, keep shaking and eventually it's gonna explode all over you.

But seriously though I'm looking forward to this next patch, time to see how big these changes will be.

Some amount of information would be nice. You remember how much in advance we got information on the Nov and Dec patches? Why did it change all of a sudden?

Thats what I am saying. They should at least have posted what they are testing right now. there is nothing so far.

there is info. instead of 1 large patch its in 2 patches 70% 1 patch 30% in another. We do know that we are getting an auto attack and that around this time we are getting the 2 mnths of battle adjustment as well as the dungeon content as well as more quests etc. so there is a good chance that 1.17 is the start of our battle adjustments since we see they are going to increase the size of effects. As well as change the incon also.

I much rather do wait and see instead of ppl over speculating things and being dissapointed.

Probably just the companies + the usual stuff. Larger than the Feb. and March patch, yet most likely smaller than the upcoming May patch (which should have the battle adjustments if their schedule holds).

We have a rough idea of like... 2 things they are adding whereas for the Nov and Dec patches we have full outlines at least a week ahead of time

It would just be nice to know something substantial you know?

We've had the outlines a week ahead of time this year too.

As a rule of thumb- everything from letters I and III should be implemented by May. If that's not the case, they fail and there's nothing to see here, move on.

at least we'll have easter event!!

Look for 1.17 to be the easter event and the V2 mob data icons plus some user interface tweaks. Don't expect much more. It's going to be pretty disappointing if you get your hopes up.

Look for 1.17a to be a technically-we-were-telling-the-truth-when-we-said-it-was-in-preparation-for-PVE-content kind of thing with next to no impact. Like...sleep potency has been adjusted. SP gains for 8 man parties have been adjusted. The way X behaves in an instance has been adjusted.

For all we know battle adjustments maybe in 1.17 (some of it.) along with easter event. then 1.17 is the rest of it. may is the rest of the battle adjustment + content.

We don't know. (that is just my guess based on evidence) If not oh well every change is 1 step closer :)

I am just tired of this anticipation. For real, I wanna know how the battle plans are coming along. I could care less about content, I wanna know how the game is going to change. Some kind of insight: pictures, videos, another letter outlining how battle will go... You know, the future of the game :/

Everyone knows about that, but I mean what are they actually testing in the upcoming patch. before they released 1.16a, they had almost exactly what they released in the 'testing in progress' Forum, so we all knew more detailed of what to expect. thats what we want to see.

I'm usually patient, but seeing FFXI having so many updates this week is getting to me.

Yeah I try to be patient and optimistic as well but seeing all the juicy things that FFXI is getting, all those update teasers this week... and no news for us on FFXIV yet. Kinda disappointing.
I know it's a different development team and I know the FFXIV dev team is busy with redoing the basics, but 6 months in some of us do kinda wish that these silly changes to the basics could be done already so we could get actual content for once. Like those voidwatch battles FFXI is getting, seems fun. :)

Actually it would be a few days before April 19th. It sometimes takes a day or two for viral news to spread.

Oh so it's some made up important date.

Meh, they said 1.17 was originally due for end-of-march. Then there was a 2 week delay. So here we are a week into April with 1 week left until the deadline, in theory.

If they don't at least announce a date by the end of next week (1.1.6 and 1.16a were both announced fairly suddently before launch), then I'll probably start to wonder what's going on.

Edit: You can go ahead and ignore BR, he's been talking about the 19th for a while and it's fairly uninspired and dull trolling.

I think it was stated in Yoshis 7th letter that 1.17 was delayed beyond the 2 weeks. We wouldn't have seen it before April either way.

Man, I remember back in the day when MMO's would go neigh on 6 months without any major update and people would be happy for the entire time just because a Dev said "We're working"

Now a days its been less then a week and "OMG WHERES THE NEXT UPDATE!" my god gamers have gotten shallow.

When the game isn't good enough to stand on it's own, yes, the updates are important.

If the game was fine then there would be no problem and we would be playing happily. It isn't.

I aslo see this as what we are getting. I do not think we'll be getting any content like Companies maybe just some lame quests.

FFXI just got a roadmap for the next 12 months. I hope we get something like that here too, people are really anxious for more info.

Indeed, even more-so considering this most likely means XIV is to get its own test server around the same time as well.

But what is sad is that XI got three(3) new bits of information today for an update to be released next month, WHY ARE YOU FAILING YOSHIDA? 1.17 INFO NAO, who cares if it's not released in 2 more weeks!

OMFG.... They can make a 12 month expectation map for XI, but not whats going to happen next week for XIV?

This is all, obviously, a cunning ploy to get people to leave XIV alone for a few months, and reactivate their XI accounts.

In the case of one bearded-tarutaru BST, they were successful.

I haven't played XI since last September, but that roadmap has me all giddy inside, true story.

That FF11 roadmap made me the want to back to vanadiel lol.. °_°
