Will I get invited to beta?

Hi, I have been waiting for the beta invite and haven't received any email yet, but I just remember now on my application, I checked the box for the reason for beta invite is "I want to play early", instead of "I want to test the game to improve it".

Shoot.

Did anyone do this? I have a bad feeling that checking that option may have sent my application straight to the trash folder. Please if anyone know anything, let me know if that was for survey purposes only, or was that to weed out applicants, and if anyone else did what I did.

I don't think they would release information on what answers have more likely of a chance to get in... otherwise everyone would just select the "correct" answers.

You might just have to wait and see buddy. Sorry I can't be more help.

I don't think anyone knows what the "right" answers are. Part of me thinks a good portion of the selection is eenie-meenie-minie-moe.

If your Legacy, then you will get in regardless of what your application says. If your not then you may have shot yourself in the foot with that one =(.

if there was one arbitrary question (not related to specs or experience) that was designed to weed out applicants...my money would be on that one XD but obviously nobody knows anything for sure. GL though :(

You could say you are working for blizzard and want to test and copy the competition - still getting into beta with legacy.. XD

Well, your getting a little too technical :P. If there are any cases like this, if SE found out and it wasn't allowed that person can be sued for spying and attempt in theft. ( Maybe lol) XD

I'd be willing to bet that very few people who are not legacy will get in to beta 1. There are just so many legacy player, I'm not sure it could support it. We're going to be restricted to the Black shroud again which means its very unlikely there will be more than one or two thousand people per server.

I'm sure you will be fine. Beta wont start until after the 22nd anyway so invites might not come until then. I'm sure SE is well aware that many who signed up really only want to start playing it early. (they would be naive not to know that). Who knows for the first phase who (besides legacy members) will get in. I'm not expecting an invite until phase 2 anyway.

They are going to start with a couple servers but yeah they definitely are going to have a nice server population - at least if all legacy players respond (as they should :D). So I doubt there will be very many non-legacy players.

Phase 2 though... :)

Looking at his Alonzo Vivas char history it seem he may not have legacy. Not sure if he keep on paying and not playing tho which in that case he have the invite. but seeing how he not reply to his own topic we may never know.

I bought the original game Sept 2010, and I never deleted my character even though I login on and off periodically, and as of July 2012 I was logging on still. So I think I have Legacy, but when I saw the application for beta testers, I applied anyway since I didn't know legacy would get instant access.

Did you pay for at least 3 months while the service was requiring payment? Easy way to check if you have it is in your account info, it will show the logo in the options somewhere iirc.

Do what ispano said and see if you have Legacy if you see a legacy icon.

Select services ---> Final Fantasy XIV

and if you see https://secure.square-enix.com/accou...xiv_legacy.gif

then you have Legacy

Hycinthus, there used to be two ways you could check to see if you have Legacy status (now there's only one) - the main way (and now, the only way), is to log into your SE Account and click on "Select Service' and then choose FFXIV.

On the next screen if you have Legacy status it will show a small Legacy icon beside your FFXIV account (clicking on your FFXIV account options will also show 'FFXIV Legacy' listed under 'Permanent Options' on your FFXIV account as well).

The second way was if you had Legacy status the Legacy icon would also be shown on the character selection screen in FFXIV 1.0, but naturally that's no longer available. ;)

Wasn't the best option to pick but not sure how it'll change your application.

im gonna be real disapointed if 1st phase beta is restricted to a few hours a day and a few days a week.

It will most likely be 3 days a week for 2 weeks and probably be 8 hours each time. After sometime ( 2 weeks I figure or less depending on how things go off the bat.) it will go 24hrs. It's only at first, it's not a forever deal.
