What Logging Back In to 1.0 Feels Like

Logging back in after over a month felt like the following:

*Like coming back to your house knowing full well it burned down months ago, yet it's still standing.
*Like entering your favorite mall after closing time days before it gets torn down.
*Like suddenly returning to earth after the rapture, and nobody's left.
*Like the guy in Twilight Zone who survived a nuclear holocaust by accident because he liked to hide in the bank vault to read. (one of the earliest episodes)
*Like visiting Disney World as an adult, having been there once as an impressionable child, and finally acknowledging it was just a carnival ride all along.
*Like opening a box of your old toys to play with them before your parents throw them away.

Any other analogies? I'd love to hear them. Please keep it clean, though, and no trolling.

Haha I was thinking how much I'd missed my chocobo. The personal ones in XI aren't as user friendly.

*Like playing a 2year old offline game.

It's like eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, without the jelly.........(hard to swallow)

Not being able to spam jump

*It feels like the aftermath of a riotous party at a fancy hotel and that the gatecrashers realized the last one left would be stuck with the bill.

I guess I was more looking for the "this place used to be so active, but now it's not" type of analogies. Serves me right for thinking people might be anything but negative on these forums.

Like taking a deep breath, then having someone snatch it away before you can exhale.

Its like holding a bag full of dog poo in your hands, but you don't freak out.

It's like the movie The Langoliers minus the reality noming balls.

Empty world that resembles where you just were, devoid of all life. :(

It's like that faint taste of smoke after burning the autumn leaves, or my graphics card reaching 98 degrees Celsius.

Loving the battle system, and hating the servers.

Like waking up from secret nap place at work to find everyone turned off the lights, locked the doors and went home.

It's like the sun set the second I logged on, and never came back.

* Like throwing a huge party, forgetting the time, and showing up after everyone's gone home.
* Like revisiting your childhood home after years and finding it abandoned before someone plans to tear it down.
* Like returning to your elementary school after graduating from high school and finding out they closed it down with intention of later building a brand new one.

And for the totally pointless ones...

* Like eating the most delicious burritos you've ever had, farting in a jar, saving it for years. Eventually you open it up again and realize just how bad it was but it brings back fond memories of those burritos you enjoyed.

FFXIV is like a delicious burrito but the hidden effect it had was like a horrendous fart in the aftermath. Returning to it now you're reminded just how bad it stinks to the farts you'll have from that new burrito they're offering soon, but at the same time you're reminded of how wonderful that first burrito you had truly was. That my friends, is FFXIV.
