classes should not be able to cross class skills. Instead Classes should receive class only skills, 1 ever 10 lvls like jobs. But unlike jobs class's will share these skills. They would be generic skills aimed at increasing survivability for solo and small party play.
some skills that class's already have would become job skill's to make room for these class only skills.
when you change to a job your stats would be changed dramatically to suit that job. You would lose your class only skills and receive job skills. Since you just lost 5 class skills you would get 10 job skills instead of 5 making jobs that much more independent then classes.
jobs would still be able to cross class 2 subs.
maybe these class onry skills can be quested and bought from various nps. maybe there can be 10-20 skills you can purchase but only equip so many. w/e.

Seriously, I think there's potential with classes and jobs having distinct purposes with solo and party play. its all about managing the survivability of the classes against the proficiency of the job. And I can see it playing a large role in PvP strategy, customizing your class can make for some nasty surprises for the unready(nuking PUGs, "Red Mage" setups, etc.). -

all they need to do its when you become a job you gain the same amount of job skills the class has you still can only equip 25 skills @50. and job skills will on be used on that job.
