ok i know in 2.0 that questing and running dungeons will be the primary way to level your classes/jobs. i want to preface that this is not a gripe post on that even though i don't like the idea. what i am wondering is how will questing be handled?
are we planning to have a linear questing system where you have to do all of the low tier quests before you access the new quests or a more open system where you can start with the quests that are your level? i've been asked quite a few times in game and can't give an honest answer because i just haven't heard anything on them.
the quests are they going to be like the gc, class, and job quests where no matter your level you have to do all of the quests previous to them? in other words i am all capped classes, but once cap is raised will i have to go back and do all of the quests previous to r50 to gain access to the 50+ quests?
or
the quests are they going to be like the leve quests are setup where i can start at the quests that are the level of the class i am questing? since i am 50 can i start on the 50+ quests once they come into game?
any rep or dev response would be greatly appreciated as i've heard this question many times in game and would like to alleviate the fears from ls members and other friends in game.

itll likely be just like WoW (as with everything else in 2.0) where there are tons of small quest chains, and the requirements will be that you have to be like.. at least -3 of the quest level, and start from the beginning of the chain. which can be 1-3 quests.. or be a long one that leads up to the area's dungeon. but either way, pretty much every new "camp" has their own chains. questing is a silly/repetitive system and a lazy way to deliver story.

The only thing known for sure is from one of Yoshi-P's recently translated articles that there will be a quest chain that'll eventually send you to a dungeon.
I personally would prefer that most of the quests chain together since that should give them the ability to make them feel more story-centric, but the pessimist in me thinks most of them are going to be go kill x amount of things or get x amount of drops from certain monsters. -
10-16-2012, 03:02 AMdarkstarpoet1i'm not a big fan of questing being the best way to exp and only getting very little exp from actually fighting mobs in the world, but it's more of a question on how they plan to handle it. my personal preference is mob grinding, but i would prefer to see multiple ways of leveling that are just as efficient as the other. that way if i get tired of questing i can go grind mobs and still get comparable exp or if a camp for grinding is full i could go do quests and get comparable exp.Quote:

not to mention, the only efficient way to level with quests is to grab and do 10-20 at a time in bulk... you really want to sit there for an hour trying to read up on all of that crap? keep the story in the story missions at cutscenes. -

i believe leveling would be one of the biggest things people may want information on instead of what they are getting with being told "ok we are adding quests" and that's the end of it.
edit: at this point we have more questions than answers on the types of information they keep putting out. everything is vague and leaves multiple ways that people can assume it's going to be done.
