We are forgetting the other "Jobs" in FFXIV: ARR.

Scroll down to "Coming Soon." We have DoH and DoL of the armoury system that should be listed there, but are not. Are we forgetting this image?

And I don't think that's the Japanese name for Botanist. I have had this little sheet handy for a good while, and Botanist in Japanese is Botanist.

That was a list for when the game was first released with all the classes that were planned for the game (from the Tanaka era).

Could the Botanist class be upgraded to the Harvester job (or advanced class, or maybe just AF for the class)? That artwork I posted above sure does make it look like it could.

What is everyones thoughts? I kind of find it VERY strange that those two sections on the new FFXIV website are grayed out with no information.

maybe that's the jp name for the class, but its been stated its the BTN af.

Because that list is older than Janet Jackson's boobs. Whatever Tanaka intended is beside the point. While it is fun to speculate on things, this might be counter-productive since there is so little we know. Remember that these forums are very fanboy-centric and that they have a tendency to run with obscure and vague information as if it were fact.

Huh, I didn't know that the hat was released. I have not seen it or heard about it. But I did know that the "Harvester" picture was Botanist AF. I just didn't know why they would label it as Harvester, unless that's the gear set's name.

That list actually shows the correct names, but if you compare the left column in JP and the left column in EN, you see that 園芸 = botany.

They are missing the JP names for the classes (the middle column is in english except for "unarmed"). Not that they really needed them, because adding a 師 on the end gives them the class name. eg 園芸師 = botanist as you see in the picture.

I realised that I probably didn't need to post any of this after I finished typing it.

They put harvest on the concept art because at the time they released the picture of the af, they didn't want to reveal too much information. Even with this, it is easy to see that this will be the af for botanist with the cutter's hat being equipped and it being only useable by a botanist.
