As the title says it would be great if you could implement this so I can distinguish between the the HQ items in the actual item search list and not have to guess from the prices.
Oh and while on the subject of item search please add filters and sort options so I can sort items by Rank, Class and things like that to make locating things even faster.

Being able to distinguish between a normal and +1 +2 +3 should have been done with the implementation of the search system.
This is Waaaaay overdue to be put in.
and a lot of my items are high quality to sell -_- I'm never going to even be able to use the market system for the most part =( -

I know this isn't a complete fix but for a while now people have been using the last digit of the price to identify HQ items.
For example:
1000 Gill = NQ
1001 Gill = HQ +1
1002 Gill = HQ +2
1003 Gill = HQ +3
It does help a little bit for now until we get a proper fix to this problem. -

I'd like this to be put in as soon as possible. Price history regardless of availability. HQ visibility. Search filters. Quick price check @ retainer instead of running to the end of the room and having to remember all the prices for items back at retainer.

My suggestion would be to keep the star system as follows:
Item Search Counter:
In the list view of each item, add a small column to the left of each item and have it 4 slots (pink,blue,silver, and gold) stars.
Then when you click on the actual item to see a list of prices and where people are, have the appropriate star color next to each item:
Pink Star - NQ
Blue Star - +1
Silver Star - +2
Gold Star - +3
This will take all the guess work out of what items are HQ. I realize that most HQ items will be prices more, and also that some people are using the 10001, 10002 etc. system but it is not an exact science.
Addionally on the market ward map, right now there are pink stars next to the each retainer, and also a pink dot on the MW map. That can also be adjusted so a star with the highest quality item is replaced. So in other wards if a retainer has a +3 item, and that item is currently being searched, then you would see a gold star.

Instead of going straight to would you like to place star above head option, insert a window that asks the quality of item that you want to search. I think it's because it was set up that way to begin with. The mods would look for the most popular topics and get the developers to give feedback on it. Fair enough but it means threads like this one in corners of the forum rarely visited get ignored. I think once people are done crying about the battle system, the job system, the UI and other things people will notice these issues more.

I'm one of those asking dev's to post server situation on the JP forums and they haven't responded to that, some said it's probably if they gave out details it will let the hackers, RMT's exploit the system... although I was asking for more general info without disclosing any server information... but anyways... devs are trying hard, I know they are so we have to just hope for the best.Quote:

Since the server is the issue for the HQ/NQ problem (along with everything else) Tanono saw on a lodestone diary about having the price show if its NQ or HQ1,2,3 for example:
It's temporary fix within community but thought it was pretty good idea. Although I know there will be a** holes that will put item up making think its HQ3 and making player come look at their bazaar... I think it's a good start for now for this one. Implementing proper Auction House seems much much easier than repairing existing system.
Just admit you made a mistake and simply get rid of Market Wards.

If recently released MMO has market system WORSE then 8 years old prequel - that IS a complete failure.
The truth is: biggest FFXIV's problem is FFXI.
Market system, battle system, party search, chat log, areas design, MUSIC!, crafting, gathering, and whole game concept...
... they're not only bad - they're worse than in FFXI. That's a serious problem.
I can understand, that SE didnt want to make a FFXI-2. But seriously, making FFXIV different than FFXI is not enough. It needs to be better than FFXI. Not only FFXI fans require this. The market does. Im pretty sure FFXIV would be called a crap even 10 years ago, even without comparing to FFXI (well, probably graphics would save it back then, but not today). When compared to FFXI, it is light years from being regular crap. Honestly, how many people, do you think, would still play this game if it wasn't signed by Square Enix and it wasn't FFXI sequel? Well, it is signed by SE, and it is FFXI sequel and I still don't see too much crowd. Except overcrowded Market Wards of course :P
The second biggest FFXIV's problem are DoH and DoL.
First of all DoH/DoL being actual jobs is a mistake. They should be side activities just like they were in FFXI. Well, with addition of gathering skills, which FFXI didn't have. Tools, additional armour pieces - too much mess in inventory, especially if you rank up more than one DoH.
Second thing - too many synthesis/gathering attempts needed to rank up. Should be much less drops from mob, much less drops from gathering, much less synthesis needed to rank up (but with much less synthesis mats on the market), and in result much less items on the market (they might actually have some value, and crafters might actually sell them for profit instead of just NPC them).
3. DoH leves - they kill the market. If you grind on leves you not only don't buy materials from other players, you even get more materials from completed leves. DoH leves kill the market.
4. Synthesis/gathering process should be one click. Same situation as with AH in FFXI and MW in FFXIV really. Synthesis/gathering in FFXIV and FFXI give same result but in FFXIV the whole process is much more annoying. Doesn't matter how precise you are using your saw or pickaxe, you still getting random synth results/gathering drops, so why bother.
5. +1 HQ is enough (and some fancy names for HQ items please, not silly +1) Less items in the game = less mess).
6. Repair - seriously, who need it?
The third biggest FFXIV's problem are RMTs.
SE focuses on fighting RMTs more than on making good game. That's why we didn't get proper search tool (cuz of RMT in FFXI, who used "/sea all" command and sent a /tell, to every single person on server), that's why we didn't get proper market system (easier price speculation), that's why we DID get surplus [R.I.P.] (so it would take longer for RMTs to recover after ban), and that's why we DID get gathering fatigue (anti-bot).
If I had to choose RMTs or fatigue + retarded party search and market system - my choice would be RMTs - let them be.
