I couldnt done quest today because they killed an NPC :/
Thx for the picture VanWulfen.
Just like i thought + noticed myself, NPCs disappeared at Camp Tranquil & Emerald Moss.
At both camps the NPC that let you favorite the Aetherit are gone.
The Behest NPC not poped at Emerald Moss aswell.
And in Tranquil the Chocobo + the 2nd NPC for Caravan are gone.
Any other camp where no Sabotenders (Cactuar) are seem fine (for now).
It seems like the npcs are not really disappearing, it is just due to how many characters are on screen because of all the sabotenders.
I was in a party earlier and couldn't see party members that were standing right next to me at a cactuar infested camp. Nor could they see me. We walked a little ways from the camp and suddenly we could see each other again
SE already knows the issue with how many things can load on the screen at once and they do this???? ugh
I have a hard time believing this was intentional. Unlike the Imperials, Atomos and the Elementals, Cactuars are passive creatures. Spawning dozens of them does literally nothing but lag the area and cause NPC/Player display issues. No one is in any danger because of them (aside from maybe their own stupidity lol). It just doesn't fit with the whole "The world is ending and nowhere is safe" theme.
Yeah, this seems like a rather bizarre choice, if it was intentional. I don't remember Cactuars in lore being attracted to the aetherytes in any way, so them being here with Dalamud approaching is just strange rather than disconcerting. Having them all get enraged and aggroing people would be a little more suitable, but I would have issues putting these high level creatures right on top of camps.
What is next, I wonder. Perhaps some super cool Dodos will start chilling by the camps? Sylphs? Moogles?
I did notice a level 67 cactuar named Sabotar near Black Brush when I logged on earlier. Well, at least I think I got my answer. >.>
I wonder what this has to do with Dalamud. O.o
For those chanting that it's useless because they aren't agressive.
Wait until they becomes treants (It's obvious logic that catci will adapt to the forest and become treants)
Not sure English name but those cactaurs going to fusion and turn into Jambotaur and gonna be bigger than Giant Buffalo lol.
Would be funny as hell if it did happen w
they are also at camp horizon, they hit hard ^^;
lol i wonder whats SE trying to do... i exped earlier at cedarwood and there were no eles
Frustrating because the battlewardens aren't popping in these camps and some of us still have behest achievements to be working on :(
Desert creatures migrating to the forest?! This is not good kupo...
They're all over Halatali too. It's an issue because there are so many near the aethereal gate, it lags heavily. Sabotender and Sabotender Del Sol, all lv70+.
I suspect it's part of Dalamud's effect on the wildlife, but look on the bright side; at least these are passive. It could be diremites, peiste, antlings or djigga if SE were to do a repeat of Cedarwood. For the time being at least, Cedarwood seems back to normal.
People cried for drastic changes to occur to the in game world, and so it has begun. The world is going craaaaazy.
Secret Final Boss of the Seventh Umbral Era: Jumbo Cactuar.
1 million needles plz
They are there simply because its getting more hot, lol
Is anyone from SE going to reply to this post? I'd like to know its being looked into. I'm already pushed to complete all the behests in time and now further delayed with battlewardens not popping.
SE has nothing else to do with this mobs. They put them there as a precaution to aid us in getting rid of RMT botting. The rmts frequently use fire and fira to complete leves. Now a word of caution to my fellow players is to not aoe near them. Only few jobs get such moves anyways so it's really not hard. I noticed on my 3 machines at home less lag and fatigue trying to walk after they were put in place. Especially near Halatali. I can't speak as to why others are having the opposite affect, just what I have observed for myself. My real shock at first was not them so much as the DAMN IMPERIALS. Yesterday I tried to help someone do a faction leve near broken water only to find once the leve progressed near Zaharak and we had our 9 to 10 targets of Amals to kill, It was laced with IMPERIALS. Made doing this leve with 3 not all to easy. Not impossible but definitely sucky.
As for npcs not popping up. One thing is try and wait it out. If that don't help relog. I have found even before when Garuda fight was brand new. I one have to relog to get npc's (this case aetheryte) to show up.
There's also the lore behind Cactuars accross most Final Fantasy games... that they come out in large numbers before a disaster, as they're likely to survive it. They're essentially the cockroaches of the Final Fantasy world lol.
after meteor has fallen, the shadows of thousands of sabotender will be seared into the ground.
Well technically the current world is coming to an end and to make that effect look true they are making certain mobs appear in mass quantity around specific aether points. Though it can hinder play that is not the design behind it obviously, but it is a hint of lore. Why do said creatures gather at Aether points? I think I understand why, but do you? (Though I don't generally follow the lore or story in FFXIV because the massive wall of text and no voice overs on big scenes thank god for 2.0)
stop being gimp and kill them!
The reason these are here is obvious: replacement refs.
