Wonder if Corsair will be the job that stems from Musketeer. Corsair fits the whole Pirate Motif and I think I saw some npc in a CS with a Hexagon. Corsair has some good draws for party support
I cant think of any other Jobs..Maybe Ranger? But that seems too much like Archer. Then again Bard came outta no where. Hopefully in the live letter tomorrow we'll get some Musketeer info. Unless Summoner will be the only new class at ARR Launch. :cool:

There have been things like Gun Mage and Fusilier for Gun-wielding classes as well. Doesn't have to be Corsair.

Merylwyb is a musketeer or its job equivalent ^^ ( GC page says her weapons are death penalty and annihilator). Leads me to believe musketeer will be a dual wield class/job.
Would love to see corsair (its a shame i never had the time in ffxi to level it). However if they do in fact implement it i have a strong feeling it will be different from the XI incarnation.
COR came along much later in ffxi than it will (assuming it comes out with ARR). Right now i feel if they do COR like XI its gonna take away alot from BRD. going by the 7 current and 1 upcoming class/jobs another party buffer isnt neccessary right now.
Once again, i would love to see COR but musketeer to me sounds like its gonna go into thf. Maybe if they do go ahead with the whole multiple jobs branching from a single class then i could see that happening in the future. All im saying is dont get your hopes up for COR as it was in XI. Look how they did arc into brd when the logical choice would have been ranger. They made that change based on what gaps needed to be filled. -

Mediator was a buff/debuff class and i think bard is kind of too much along the same lines. it would be fun to see, but looking at existing skill sets i don't think it really adds anything interesting unless it is primarily a debuff class.
and they could re-introduce engineer/mechanic for that. They could give them 'aim' abilities to work as debuffs. Aim head:blind/silence aim arm: pacification/amensia Aim Leg: Heavy/bind Aim Body: Stun/DoT etc. etc.
I'd love to see some cross classes that involve DoL, DoH and DoW/DoM. Right now the three are very separate. you can pick one and do just that and have a pretty good time. but for those of us that like to do both, it'd be nice to see a battle class spawn from our efforts in DoL/DoH.
I personally would love to see chemist make another appearance. and be our new healing class. but again, that's close to bard as well. -

I hope it's different than it was in XI, or it will be pretty pointless (or BRD will).
The whole gambling part of them was cool initially, but once you got a gun to DD with, landing 11's became annoying, and they were so much better than lucky numbers so you pretty much had to shoot for it.
I'd still like some gambling mechanics perhaps, but not make it re-rollable. In fact I'd be sad if they added corsair without a gambling aspect. -

I don't really feel like seeing Corsair again honestly. That was something unique to FFXI's world, and I really think they could draw something different for FFXIV. I like the idea of Gun Mage, and some of the other gun wielding jobs we've seen in past FF games, even calling it Gambler and giving it a different theme than pirate would make it new. I recently made this thread in which people voted for their favorite jobs. The results can be viewed here. out of (ironically) exactly 500 votes so far corsair only had 15.
It seems to be the case that SE is adding jobs based on a equal parts combination of what people want, and what the game needs. As such it's very likely that when your favorite job is added it may be nothing like what you're used to, such as the case with Bard.
If it's true that SE is trying to give people what they want, based on the 500 votes so far from our community, it's safe to assume we may be seeing RDM next. For all the fans of COR they may be unfortunately stuck waiting a while. -

I agree with with some of the posters that The cards and quickdraws and dice maybe dont fit in the same world. But Gun chemist sure. Machinist sure Gun mage sure.
