2.0 leveling won't be focused on grinding on the same monsters repeatably like we are now with 11 & current 14. It will be quest based, so maybe it won't be needed outside of dungeons & storyline quests.
I think if i wanted to level every Class, i would probably run out of quests.
it would be cool to have it for every group content so you can find easily players to do it without rushing .
In the game demo he said you'll be able to level sync with your friends to help them complete quest content... So yes, we can level sync outside of dungeons.
Huh! I can't believe that I have not even considered DoH/DoL in all the discussions about content based leveling. Ironically, I think where we SHOULD have more content based leveling is for DoH/DoL which we haven't heard much about, although the blanket statements about content based leveling might be intended to include those classes as well. For DoW/DoM, I certainly don't mind more content based leveling but I love grinding parties so I don't mind the current system at all.
i don't think content for DoH / DoL would be good , crafting is something that should be a little boring but help to have better gear and other things .
I think it works well in others mmo , you see some silver while doing a quest , you mine it and when you have done all the quests in the camp you craft some items .
In 1.0 you can't do this because you need to change your gear entirely every time you want to gather something , i hope they add a system that auto change your stuff when you want to mine ( and remove that slow , boring mini games )
if they add quest for DoH / DoL it will become boring , what people want in FF 14 is kill big bad monsters and epicness not have quest such like , go gather me some woods ...
Or maybe if they add some farm creation and stuff it could be funny ...

Are you like... making some compromise that you think is "necessary for the game" or something? Not everyone in XIV is into "killing big bad monsters". There *are* people who spend almost all their time crafting and enjoy it. I don't think it's quite appropriate to be so willfully suggesting they make that aspect of the game "a little boring" for those who enjoy it.

Crafting will always be a little boring , of course there is peoples that like that but these people won't think it's boring i speak for peoples that wants to fight and not craft 3 times more than fighting.
I don't think there is anyway to make it no boring at all it something that break the rythm of the game .
All I want for crafting classes is something like simple crafting & advanced crafting.
Simple would be just bringing up the recipe and press "attempt craft"...something like that, dare I say it from FF11. EXP will be based of your current level and you have no chance of HQ and there will be a variable failure rate depending on your level and attributes.
Advanced can be like the current system we have now where you can focus on quality, using different craft abilities and craft actions.
Yes there's hasty hand but we all know that's just for quickly making up craft materials, not for exp.
For crafter content we get quests to learn some good recipes for our recipe book.
But the main exp source would be still from crafting stuff.
I'd prefer the simple crafting be something like from WoW and if you have the materials on hand you can click a button and queue up however many synths you have materials for. Simple crafting should be simple, not having to manually start a synth every time.
Advanced crafting should essentially be what it is now; focusing on certain actions to get an HQ.
Simple crafting for NQ and average exp (like Hasty Hand)
Crafting with skill for HQ or better exp
It can work
