FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, System Requirements

I am in current need of a laptop for school/work everyday things. But the big point is it needs to be able to run FFXIV: A Realm Reborn at MAX settings. Below are the specs I plan to get, please give me your earnest opinions.

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM Mobile Processor (4x 2.3GHz/6MB L3 Cache)
Memory: 8GB [4GB x 2] 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM Corsair
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M 4GB GDDR5 Video w/ NVIDIA Optimus
Hard Drive: 256GB ADATA SSD - SingleDrive
Sound Card: HD Audio with THX TrueStudio Pro
Network Card: Killer E2200 Gaming Networking
Internal Wireless Network Adapter: 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi + Bluetooth Combo

That is, it is more than plenty enough?

You should be in very good shape. If anything needs improvement I would say up your processor, how ever it has a very big cache so depending upon the coding of the game I would say your CPU is either mediocre or killer. Seeing as how there mainly changing it to run and coded more like western games i would put my money on the killer side.

I was also thinking along the same lines. Either throw down a bit more money to make sure laptop lasts at least another 5 years or sit tight and cross my fingers.

I would sit tight. Mainly because if they code it right when it comes out that means your cpu will be killer. If they code it wrong than go out and buy a new CPU. If you go out and buy a new CPU now when the game comes out one of two things will happen.
1.) It turns out your old CPU was good enough and you wasted a bunch of money for nothing or
2.) It turns out you did need a new CPU and you made the right move in buying a new CPU (How ever FFXIV ARR doesnt officially come out for like 4 -5 months and i can grantee you the CPU you will buy right now will be much cheaper in those 4-5 months meaning you can buy the CPU you want for cheaper, or get a even better CPU for the same price.)

His CPU seems to be good enough to me (I have an Intel Core i7 2600k 2nd gen) Since the game's engine is optimized, he shouldn't have a problem running it at all (I'm thinking probably mid-max settings at the most)

I recall hearing that ARR would use fewer system resources. My laptop has an i7 chipset and an NVIDIA geforce GTX 460m gpu. I can run the current game quite well on standard settings, so you're probably in good shape.

Nice specs, you'll probably be more than good to go. Like everyone has said, if ARR is done right, it ought to run better than 1.x. I'm currently running with an i5-2410M CPU, Nvidia GT540m, 6GB RAM, MSI laptop, and the game runs alright on the default settings.

oish my laptop is an i3 processor with an nvidia 520m 2gigs of ram my desktop is an i5-2500k running an nvidia 660ti super 8gigs of ram charged o.O don't care if I can run it on laptop much but it would kill time while waiting in between classes at school~

The only possible issue you'll have is with the mobile graphics card.. Will you let us know how it runs the current game on here?
