It is not only the earring. It is the gamedisks from Final Fantasy I - XIII, too. A real Final Fantasy collector box ^^

Its actually not that bad of a price for all 13 entries of the main series and a load of bonus goodies in a beautiful anniversary box, the in game item is merely one of those.

But i am not surprised at all to read "lol SE 450 dollars for ingame earrings", many people here don't take the time to think for a second before they write.

Dang, I might get it if I didn't already own/have access to all those games.

Because no other company in any other country in the world does this -- Guess what? Japan doesn't get a lot of NA developed games localized to Japanese most are fan translations of PC games.

Also you misread that Phase 1 alpha testing. It is stress testing to ensure the servers are stable and the same mess doesn't happen again like it did with Beta and servers crashing all the time. So U MAD?!?!! I would rather they get the servers stable before I waste my time getting on for 30 seconds and the server crashing. Unless thats what you want to do, by all means go to Japan, get in Phase 1 Alpha and do that because that is all that will happen in that Phase is DC/crash the hell out of the servers so they can find the weak spots and fix them for Phase 2 and the rest of the world. So if you are not American you must be under the age of 22, and grew up on the Internet and Globalization where everything is just handed too you, which is all the same problem that is going on in this self-deserving world we live in.

Wow, what a great way to taunt us with stuff we'll never get 'cause we'll never pay $450 when all we REALLY want out of there is the earrings.

I am not overly worried about getting the mog earrings, they will be a 1-10 lvl earring again useless right after lvl 10 and I also know that the rest of the world will get it too, but I can also bet that it wont come in a package that is 450$ because Westerners won't pay that much for the items admittedly as shown in this forum. So expect it to come probably in the new ARR box set or something. The reason it is in that box is because Japanese just buy those expensive items all the time, its a serious business to them. Also I can't believe there are people getting so up in arms over a DIGITAL product... (me included because I am having this pointless discussion, because no matter what I say or anyone else or you say, it won't change anything) I for one want to get that collection not for the earring but for the MANY. OTHER. ITEMS. that actually have resell value in it.

And on that note I am not going to argue that point anymore. I to want the earring for my character, and guess what I know I can get it later down the calendar before ARR releases. I am not going to flail my arms about (metaphorically) because an in game item was announced in a region first before NA or EU, because I know it will be coming our way eventually.

The difference with other games is that NA+EU sales for FF titles (main series) are way higher than JP sales.

Whereas western games in Japan barely sells at all (in comparison to NA+EU). So yes, the decision of NA companies not to localize their game in Japanese makes sense. The other way around for the Final Fantasy brand however doesn't.

It's understandable not to have everything localized/available everywhere. (Lot of SE games/merch never comes outside Japan), but when it comes to a brand like Final Fantasy, the overseas audience is as much important if not more important than the JP audience now. We make this brand live. Not only JP players. If Final Fantasy meant nothing outside Japan, it wouldn't be as big as it is now in Japan.

(I'm not mad etc. I don't really care, wouldn't purchase it anyway, but yeah more like trying to explain that saying "NA companies does it too" isn't a valid point when it comes to FF.) Would still be nice for hardcore fans to have something available outside Japan :)

I'm not sure if they'd make a new system for this but I know with other promotional items (Asuran Armguards, Garlond Goggles, etc), they weren't used on any specific character. Instead, only newly created characters after applying the code could get the item.

You do know it is a ripoff right ? The only 2 games there that cost any money and nowhere near $100 combined are XI and XIII, XIII is $20 as a greatest hit collection, and XI bundle is around 40-50...... PS1 games are worthless, and so are ps2 games, So really you are paying about $100 for 2 games, and 300+ for a box.....

lets ignore there is more than just games in the box. Also the games have unique Amano artwork on all of them, so they are not worth the same AT ALL to the other games. They are meant for collection purposes for those that want it. If you don't want a limited edition copy of a game then don't buy the set. But for us that want limited edition art copies and art books and plaques and such, we want something like this :D!

Just like we wanted swimsuits this year.... oh wait..

They were going to sell us real life FFXIV bathing suits! DAMN! I would of all been over that, oh wait... lol ;D

I wouldn't worry though, the earrings are probably like 5 hp 5 mp and stop working after level 10

Holy hell thats a lot of money for some flare(pun intended). I think i'll save $400 and get the regular version, along with The Last of Us for ps3 and some other new upcoming awesome titles.

Some ppl like to collect things. Where as other ppl dont like to collect things, you have to realize where as buying this seems completely stupid to you other ppl might like it as a collection, or if for some reason someone hasn't played all the final fantasy games yet. I for one know lots of ppl that are going to buy this and never even open it up!!!! It's just to say that they have it. I know paying $450 for something you will never even use. Like I said some ppl like to collect things. You just have to put yourself in there shoes. Some ppl just think differently. Its like some ppl will spend over 20k on a car and wont spend more than 200 bucks on a computer. I think thats crazy to spend that much on a car i would never spend more than 1k on a car, but I dont just call them stupid I understand that some ppl like to have a really nice car. But where I would never spend over 1k on a car I will spend well over 10k on a nice computer.
