Are you afraid? I was!!!
All I see is people without linkshells. You should invite them to yours.
People like you are creating a hostile environment for new players.
Odd that they really like that particular Aetheryte crystal...
Correction...servers are full...servers are not accepting new players...
They exist and because a realm reborn is coming out they are hoarding for what is to come...
I could care less about them really...I get everything from my LS and generally for free or make it myself. This was just scary...I hope they make a free company and name it The Cult of RMT.
I just want some extra laughs.
From Square with love.
Identical state of affairs over on Sargatanas, has been for months.
I'm kinda hoping that when we all get "taken out of time" before ARR starts, we can't take our gil with us. But then that's probably because I don't have much gil.
I don't.
Now... if only I could equip my pickpocket skills... XD
wrong.... they are not players. they are workers.
You'd have to be astoundingly ignorant to not see that most of the people on that screen (not saying all) are working for RMT. Everyone knows about them. I find it amazing that SE doesn't just sit around Cedarwood waiting for the next unsuspecting RMT to come along so they can ban them. I mean, if a government knew about a specific public (and I do mean very specific, down to a few square meters) location where every pickpocket in the country went to at some point, why would they not monitor the area constantly?
They don't just hang around Cedarwood, they're also at Bloodshore and Bearded Rock. I think they go to La Noscea because it's easy to get around (unlike the Shroud) and because there aren't as many people at the camps to report them (unlike Thanalan).
I reported them as RMT once, but I couldn't fit all of the names into the comma-seperated username field. xD There are that many of them.
its cause SE make money off of them right now. that person that owns all those bots is paying 9.99 per character which is 79.92 dollars a month. then assume they actually have a character they might play on thats another 9.99, 89.91 a month. id highly doubt they get rid of that. after 2.0 is when they probably do anything cause theyll wanna try to get some money out the game.
They are ever increasing on Hyperion too, lots and lots with names like sdsdsdsddsdsds or fgfgfgffgfgf one runs and a missive train of lalafels follow
I just don't see why most mmo companies can't just hire 1 to 3 people to work as GMs, and police things like this. Pay em minimum wage, and give them banhammers. There's no reason for names like these ever. Even if you just temp ban them for 3 days with a forced name change it would be a start. Could have a permaban after 2nd name change warning.
I think they'd actually make more money if they banned those. First off, the regular players would be happy to see the bots gone, and are more likely to play a game where bots are far and few between. However, the RMT aren't going to just give up when their first wave of accounts get banned. They'll make new ones. Which means buying the game again, paying the service fee...
I think this explains the dire situation a little better. Location: Camp Skull Valley.

Send in the clones!
well you would be correct, if the game didnt bomb at start and make everyone quit leave se to make very little money off the game in the first place. It wasnt the RMT that made everyone quit. Hell they were taking money from 11 to try to break even, but it wasnt helping so thats why they started the P2P again.
Honestly they arent that big of a problem yet anyway. They arent tell bombing yet like in 11. Thats probably cause they know theres no one thatll buy the gil yet cause its so easy to make. But at 2.0 when and if the new lazy people join theyll be the ones to buy the gil.
Oh no!! The Wesdafs Sadffdadsf gang again!!
Isn't that the Dalamud cult we had to deal with a while back? Lol they are harmless unless you actually buy gil from them and put getting yourself banned otherwise they can only abuse the 40 char on screen limit at this time hahaha.
If only atomos were here...
Actually...I know the secret about the RMTs. You see, they don't stop them because...
SQUARENIX IS BROSALE!
It all makes sense. They lost a lot of money on this game and then had to turn around and make another version. No matter how successful ARR is it will still be teetering on a loss. The solution? Get players from both sides with RMT! I bet ARR has been done for months now and all the devs are slaving away levelinking.
I am not too concerned about RMT for ARR. Yoshi-P and the team seem to display a good enough understanding on what they should be doing when developing an MMO. RMT shouldn't be an exception.
If it gets to the point where I am flooded with tells to buy gil from Brosales...
Every MMO on the market has RMT for that particular game for various things from money, to items, to power leveling, and so on. The picture is an unfortunate reminder, but it's far from being shocking or even a surprise. I don't think I really needed proof.. I just assume RMT is in any MMO that I play. I try not to think about it since there's not a lot I can do about it.
It's in the name of the all mighty dollar. The pay SE for the accounts, they farm a faction leve all day/night long for karakul fleece and build up money for 2.0 starters, 2.0 comes around, SE Bans Gilsellers removing a huge sum of gil from circulation and SE profits in the process.
These threads are still happening?
Yes, just a bunch of people without linkshells and faceroll-keyboard names, and wearing newb clothes, all looking nearly identical and all the same class and level, who all stand around and link leves while only ONE goes to finish the leve. Oh yeah, nothing suspicious here.
I'd like to know why whenever a player sees a bunch of characters with randomly designed names they assume they must be RMT? Has it ever occurred to people that these are characters created by traditional players or linkshells to quickly leve their own members. Maybe it's players trying to determine stats. Whatever it is... Most of them stand their doing nothing (@ cedarwood). And there is always a high profile ls player nearby (BGLS on Durandal).
I have almsot the same pic that was taken I think outside limsa. Have name of the lev 40 that was killign the mobs as the bots checked in and stood there and leveled off the leves. SOem woudl portback get more return and repeat. hounded him awhile tilkl he eventually logged.

Still will violate terms.
It shoudl be obvious. Why? Well think about the gil generated by each new chracter and they can delte regenerate characters, run base quests, and genrate high gil from the rewards. Delete, reroll them fast. THose characters in my photo alone. Cna fast leve, run the payoff quests with 1 high level, and generate 800k each within a day of acceptable level.
THat thar party Will make about 5 million gil. WIth noticable 4 groups that guy will push 40 mil gil in that period.
Pushign more now wince FFXI was dropped to almost no cost with 30 day free trials.
