FF14 Client Shutdown after Successfully Login
I have been unable to log in to FF14 since yesterday. I pass the authentication part after entering the userid, password, and the one-time password. However, whenever I click on the green play button, the client window will pop out as usual, but instead of loading ff14 client, it will immediately shut down together with the launcher. I don't think there is even an error code shown. The shutdown was so fast that it couldn't even load the SE logo.
My last successful gameplay was two days ago, on 28 Jan 2026.
I tried to repair the game, uninstall and reinstall, reinstall DirectX, update graphics card driver, but the same thing happened. Then I tried to narrow down if the issue is with my old graphics card, so I installed Where Winds Meet and tried to load it. I can load and play WWM, so I'm at a loss now.
Is this the right forum to reach out to the SE technical team?
FFXIV Shut down after successful log in
I wanted to make another post about this just to signal boost, but I'm having the same issue as a previous thread in this forum:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...29#post6788429
I can successfully log in to the game, but when i press the play button, the game opens then shuts down to desktop without any errors, no "not responding", no error codes or error logs, just a very clean shut down.
Tried (all failed):
- Full uninstall + manual delete game/My Docs/AppData/SquareEnix folders + fresh reinstall (3x).
- boot64.exe as admin + Windows 8 compat + disable fullscreen opt + DPI override System.
- Single monitor (DP 1080p).
- Defender/Firewall off + exclusions.
- Clean boot (msconfig disable non-MS).
- DDU NVIDIA clean + driver reinstall.
- SFC /scannow (repaired files) + DISM RestoreHealth (success).
- Configs wipe + folder rename.
- Display settings and resolution tests in control panel + windows settings.
- Reinstalled FFXIV patches.
- Tried with VPN.
- Disabled and shut down everything else in task mgr.
Specs:
- Windows [winver result, e.g., 10.0.19045].
- i7-8700 @3.7GHz, NVIDIA [GPU model/driver ver from Device Mgr].
- Dual 1080p (DP+HDMI).
I'm completely at a loss with this, and I'm starting to suspect it's not a user side issue but on Square Enix's side
