Not just you. When I start the launcher, the banner and news ticker load, but where the boxes for account and password should show up, only a loading message stays for a long time, that will eventually be replaced by "please restart the launcher" and if you keep waiting, it will eventually throw a message box with an error, either error 7 or 10.
I can load up the square enix website, but when I click on support it hits a timeout.
Edit: Seems I caught a lucky break and after a long loading time I finally did get the login window. Ingame everything seems okay, but the support website and login server seem to still be difficult to reach.
Maybe the DDoS-ers moved from NA to EU today.
Found an article, while not exactly the issue, it is related and may offer a solution.

Well... thank you for the attempt, but one of the problems we have is that we can't connect to the square enix support site, so we (or at least I) can't see whatever you linked to.
Yeah, all the same for me, too, same error message, and also including not getting to the support page - it stays on the white page trying to load forever.

Same problem in Germany. We are already in contact with the support but with no solution. I even had to use a vpn to login to the forum and support Center. Couldn’t load the page without
The problem is that ff14 uses a global login server for processing logins. That server is located in Japan. My traceroutes to it (from German Telekom) are routed via the US and are heavily dropping packets (pings won‘t even reach the server). Looks like SE problem.
I'm also unable to login form Germany since yesterday. It's a differrent issue as the start post, but something went completley wrong.
Same problem here. Germany, Telekom.
Same problem here. From germany. Using a VPN solves it mostly. But you honestly shouldn't be expected to use a VPN just to play FFXIV.
The problem is that I don't really know who to call or give feedback to.
Should i call or complain to Telekom or to SE?
Same problem here. Unable to login unless I use VPN- I had to use it even to login on FFXIV website and forums.
I'm from Poland, T-mobile which I believe belongs to Telecom as well. Seeing so many reports from Telecom customers makes me think it's on their side but who knows ~_~
Problem still persists, if you can't use a VPN you just can't login...
A little update I read over in the German forum: Apparently the issue stits between the German Telekom (and it's sub-companies like Magenta for Austria) and Japan at a company called NTT. Apparently another customer of NTT is overloading the "peerings" (whatever that is) to Telekom, causing the issues. They are saying they're working on it, but can't give an estimate, since it depends on NTT and not just themselves.

Maybe SE should start asking themselfes if they have continental local DCs and gameservers/worlds in their respective continent if it isnt a catastrophic redundancy planning fail to have login servers for the launcher only once cental in japan.
Even if this Problem will be fixed it can happen anywhere at anytime again in every country outside of japan. (Europe/USA/Australia..)

The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. It can be a result from certain security/privacy changes on Microsoft Edge. Other times, it occurs when an application running in the background causes interference, such as anti-virus software, firewalls, media players, web browsers, communications software, etc.
Please make sure all background applications (including anti-virus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference before attempting to log in.
You can also try Right-Clicking on the FFXIV launcher icon and select “Run as Administrator.” This option can also be set permanently by Right-Clicking on the FFXIV launcher icon, selecting Properties, then under the Compatibility tab, check the box that says “Run this program as an administrator” and clicking OK.
Within Microsoft Edge, click the "Settings" option on the top right of the browser (under the three dots shown) and go to "Privacy, Search and Services" and go to the "Tracking Prevention" section. Make sure it is turned on and select the "Balanced" option.
Additionally, if any settings have been changed overall, it is best to keep things at default which you can perform manually by using the "Reset Settings" option under the "Settings" tab. Lastly, please ensure that Microsoft Edge is up to date by using the "Settings" > "About Microsoft Edge" option near the bottom left.
If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, there may be a communication error.
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
▼TCP
54992 through 54994,
55006 through 55007,
55021 through 55040
*You may learn how to do this by visiting http://www.portforward.com/
Find your specific router's brand and model number from the 'List of Routers' and you will be provided a step-by-step guide on how to access these port settings.
Otherwise, your ISP may forward these ports for you.*
If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your computer directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the computer for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.
If you continue to receive these same errors when you are connected directly to the modem, then the problem lies with your ISP. We would recommend contacting your provider and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access on these ports.
