Rival Wings and CC would benefit greatly from a daily roulette. This would bring more people to the modes.
If they're afraid there is too many roulettes, perhaps there is too many for lvl100 duties.
It couldn't hurt!

Like, more daily challenges yes.
- In exchange, since SE seems to have decided as far as Stormblood that raids should be just trials, then why do we need a different roulette for trials and raids? They're both the same. Merge those up, or go back designing actual raids like coils or alex??
- Why do we still have a guildhest roulette since nobody runs this as it has terrible rewards? Either bring the rewards up to date and bring back a type of content that guildhests actually represent, or just get rid of that roulette??
- Merge expert with level cap dungeons?? Not like people have been absolutely sick of going through the same two dungeons for years.
They could even make a whole new tab at the top for Daily Challenges and add the other PvP modes to Frontline.
I’d definitely do CC (casual) more often if it was a roulette… as it is now, I only really do it when it pops up in my WT or when I’m grinding out series rewards. And I’ve still only done 1 single match of Rival Wings, because it never pops and I hate having to travel to try it out when I don’t know what I’m doing. lol
How is there too many roulettes? literally the more roulettes the better it adds choice, it adds reason for me to log in a lot of the time if i wanna grind tomes for relics I don't wanna spam the level 100 dungeon for that.
We need more roulettes, more choice not less.
I'd say by "too many" it may refer to Expert being split into Expert & Level Cap (for some reason... even though they're the same thing?) which gives us this extremely awkward, literally only 2 duties btw, roulette that you only run for tomes and it's super easy to get sick of because there's no variation. I love roulettes too, don't get me wrong, but that's the one I won't queue unless you point a gun to my head lol
More PvP is always good imo. Rival Wings desperately needs a reason to be run besides mogtomes, and even during that time it feels difficult to land a pop. In Chaos I've had no trouble getting pops for casual CC even at quieter hours, but a daily reward never hurts!
I would love if there was a daily roulette for both CC and Rival Wings.
Oddly, I don't think that RW needs a roulette of its own. Rather, SE could tone Frontline down to a 48 player gamemode (16v16v16), and have RW/Frontline exist in a roulette together. Sometimes you get a 16v16v16 Frontline, sometimes you get a 24v24 RW match. You would be able to queue directly for one or the other, if you're looking to farm achievements.
Not sure CC needs a roulette. I think the issue is more that... most players just don't like PVP. They're in CC, not for the actual PVP, but to complete some goal or another, be it getting XP for the not-BattlePass, or working on an Achievement. Once they get their R25 for the Series, they'll leave the queue until the next not-BattlePass, and there's not really much SE can do about that. Adding a Roulette either means the player thinks 'this Roulette is not worth the time' and it stays ignored, or 'it is worth the time, and now I feel like I HAVE to do it', which just breeds resentment towards PVP as a gamemode because they feel 'forced' to do it. Personally, I find it difficult enough motivating myself to do the daily Frontline for XP whenever a new Series rolls around
Hot Take (but not really): IMO EX Roulette should contain EVERY Dungeon, Hard Mode Dungeon, Variant Dungeons (not Criterion), every Trial, Hard mode Trial, Guildhests, the MSQ Dungeons (Castrum/Prae/UltimaWeapon), all of the 24mans, every Normal Raid except Coils (for obvious reasons).
If that can't be done (eg because they're scared people will leave over and over to fish for 'fast duties' like Guildhests), at least let us have 'every Dungeon and Hard Mode Dungeon'
EX Roulette would be a lot more interesting, if it had a lot more variety. Having a literal coinflip as to what Dungeon we're going to be doing for Tomes today is very reductive, and throws a ton of old content under the bus when it's still perfectly serviceable. I'm pretty sure I've not done Fractal Continuum Hard Mode since Stormblood had it in the EX Roulette, for example.
This would also help polish players' knowledge of mechanics, as they'd get to see certain mechanics more than once. A lot of players don't react to Pyretic and keep hitting the enemy through the debuff, because they get to see it like... twice, in the whole story, and so they never get time to familiarize themselves with the concept. Same with something like Acceleration Bomb/Extreme Caution (Baelsar's Wall 2nd boss, A10, etc), it's easier for a newer player to just eat the 'fail state', go flying into the sky for a second, and brute force through the mechanic rather than learning what it does and how to avoid it, because chances are they're not going to see it often in the future, if at all, so why bother?
CC doesn't need a roulette unless the bonus is awarded for winning. Otherwise, all you do is attract the same people that begrudgingly queue Frontline and you're faced with more people who would just prefer the round end sooner, by any means necessary.
Casuals are already a cluster thing of premades killing every game or people who don't have their bars filled with abilities + press nothing. Ranked are the only thing people care for, but unfortunately it's dead and nobody wants to play with 10 same people every single day lmao.
As for rival wings, nah. The mod is pretty boring just like frontlines. Nothing they do will bring people back. Only reason why rival wings are working is because of mogpendium and community of 10-20 people that force themselves to make a queue on their private discord. Otherwise it would be perma dead.
Mentor roulette has entered the chat.
No, but seriously, I agree Expert desperately needs a bigger pool of duties to draw from. You're not an expert because you can run two dungeons xD and people will leave for any reason under the sun regardless, though I would say it's best to keep guildhests out of the roulette since they're not particularly challenging or rewarding, they have their own dedicated roulette with a big enough pool of duties to draw from and as you say, people will be annoyed if they don't get a guildhest.
Haha, guilty about the Pyretic! :D though if it doesn't manage to kill me, I will continue to ignore it. When I run as a healer I love to dump a bunch of shields or heals so the DPS can go crazy without dying.
One I don't see very often is the "specific amount of people" stack markers. They look different and somewhat similar to the double buster too, so I often see people dying in the rare cases it shows up. You can find what I think is literally the only time this mech shows up (?) at the Aetherochemical Research Facility, Harmachis boss during it's Anti-machina transformation. It's so specific because the stack must be exactly the marked person + 1 player or everyone inside the marker explodes.
