Make savage weapons cool again!

I started raiding in p9s-12s, and I haven't gotten one cool weapon from my time doing savage.

PLEASE make weapons cool again like in p8s, like why dont the M8S weapons have a cool jet burner effect for example? They look so bland for something that's a reward from finishing a raid tier, no one wants to farm these weapons except to be geared for ultimate.

I'd rather farm p8s and p4s than current savage tier OUGHHHH

Tbf in general savage gear looks awful since abyssos and asphodelos. Dungeon items look like they have better quality at times.

Huge agree. I've actually recently been going back to farm P8S because of how cool the weapons from that fight look, and tonnes of other people have been doing that too. I've had to wait less time in Party Finder for a fight from Endwalker, than a fight that came out in Dawntrail. That's the power of a cool looking weapon, people are going to want to get them.

I say we go one step further. I'd like for the armour from these fights to NOT have the firey glow on them, UNLESS you get the Savage version. Again to incentivise people to go back and farm older fights. One of the core aspects of any MMO is making your character look cool. I think we should reward Savage players with better, more unique options. Hell, let me trade Ultimate totems for glowing armour as well as weapons.

M8S is the first tier that made me want to actually farm savage glams.

This thread just shows me how subjective these things are, to me, the Abyssos stuff is hideously gaudy, like I actually dislike seeing them way more than any of the modern gear that people whinge so much about, and peak raid gear design was Edenmorn.

I personally think Abyssos gear is hideous, but I quite like Edenmorn and Asphodelos. One man's trash is truly another man's treasure.
Agree with the weapon glow thing. Sometimes I just want the weapon without the glow, so it works for everyone!
I think both weapons should be dyeable to keep glamour options open. I think the grind for the normal mode weapon is appropriate and it's okay to let it have dyes but not the glow.

I would be totally fine with that, if the compromise was all the gear sets were dyeable from the start, and the cool special FX/better stats is what you got from Savage. It might also encourage them to get more creative with the FX too! And on the other hand, I didn’t particularly care for the fire effects of that tier, so it would’ve been nice if Normal was plain and Savage got the FX.

But imo they really need to get to a baseline of all new gear being immediately dyeable, with both channels. I’m beyond annoyed at having undyeable gear (especially from dungeons!) in the expansion that hyped up dual dyes as a feature. I’m still going to go back and do old Savage for the mounts, weapons and just the fun of it anyway. But Savage should get something more exciting than dye channels. lol

And what I’m saying is that I think the special FX would be a much better incentive, than something that is pretty much standard in just about every other game. If the dress from Anabaseios was plain for Normal and only sparkly for Savage, that would be a much better incentive than something that imo we should already expect as a given. I’d definitely run it to get the sparkles, other people would run the tier before that for the flames, etc.

There is still the mount for showing off.

And its also worth to note: 1 expansion old savages are trivialy easy to complete. So on that end, i dont realy see that much of an issue if at some point it becomes easier to obtain them.

Its to me quite a waste that a lot of savage gear, once the tier is over, is essentialy going to be almost non existant. Even if its easier to get these, most people only used it to show off they completed the savage tier, or didnt bother using a glam on it. Some ways to make these obtainable for non-savage players isnt a bad idea at all. But i would like it if the requirements do make it harder.

For example, we already have the alliance raid tokens for upgrading tomestone gear. What if at the x.55 patch they make it so you can use the 3 tokens to get 1 of the books for the weapon? Its still quite a grind to get these then (although, if you stock up on these, you might already have them). The relic weapon is going to be superior at that point anyway.

No thanks. One occasional armor set with glow VFX is bearable, put it on all savage gear and the game ends up looking like some trashy p2w korean MMO, in some aspects it already does.

That's where it gets subjective, as with all aesthetic choices. I found the gear this raid tier to be the most generic "cyberpunk clothes" that we already have multiple of at this point.

This is the unfortunate reality. Since everyone sits in the cities, and you can't use your mount there, you rarely ever see them. The only time people can even show off their rare mounts is during hunt trains, and nobody is paying attention there.

It's a stupid reward. Give us something better than just being able to dye the ugly gear from normal.

To the OP, I've noticed they've been lacking with both Savage weapons and the relics in terms of impressive appearance. They haven't tried to make them nearly as unique and almost look like something you'd find in a dungeon.
