It's too late for dynamis. They already already bought up lots of land for their bathhouses and and steamy clubs. Remember us. Remember that we once lived without gooners.

Why now? This has been an issue for a while. I know several people who wanna write paragraphs of steamy smut but can't find anyone who isn't just trying to sync a dance and goon, if you catch my drift.

Wait, people actually still RP in Balmung? Last I heard the reason it was permanently congested was due to all the Wanderers and Travelers clogging it up to AFK in syncshells, attempting to "sightsee" all the ERPers that moved on to other locations, or off-world entirely... are there even any natives at the QS still, that are like "actual" natives and not lv1 alts made for reasons that are definitely not playing the actual game..

Look, I get wanting to defend people's right to enjoy themselves, but if empathy is the argument, then it should go both ways. Dismissing people who disagree as "prudish maggots" isn't exactly empathetic—it’s just shutting down opinions you don't like. There's a difference between criticism and persecution, and acting like every disagreement is some kind of moral attack kind of defeats the whole point. If you want respect for your views, you’ve got to give it back, too.

I got a bit too aggressive there, perhaps, but I feel the point stands, it is a sentiment born out disgust, it is judgmental, and it is trying to shut down others, it is an (admittedly much lower stakes) version of the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_tolerance, a concept where to be tolerant, you need to be intolerant to those who are intolerant, to simplify it to a small fault, essentially, the guy who swings first is in the wrong, and you cannot allow too much empathy to those who display lack of empathy, lest you will allow their behavior to flourish, that's where I am coming from with that attitude.

Somewhere out there are people having fake sex and I am personally offended by this.

seems like it's all private groups/fcs these days because of all the sex tourists. think even the pearl lane holdouts ended up disappearing. only option for spontaneous public rp is to go to mateus. other than that, there are the events like grindstone or w/e venue of the week.

There are things that should not be tolerated, like sex in the street, what people do in the privacy of their own homes (or those of other consenting adults) is their own business but when they do it in the public square that's everybody's business and everybody has a right to object to it.

Your playing a game with bunny boys and girls, cat girls and cat boys.. were 99% of the outfits in the game is basically Victoria secret sexy outfits, maids etc and you complain about erp? That basically the point in this game consinder how bad pve is..

The story has a lalafell man sexually harassing cat girls, a woman who was sold by her family ..in msq has basicly a s... slave.

Your first dungeon legit has s.slaves in a cell for pirates...


You should give up on not wanting to see lewd stuff when that is around 99% of the game built into it.

Who cares let them have their fun. If you're going out in a virtual neighborhood to meet other virtual fantasy characters to have virtual imaginary sex via cringe emotes with them then you must be so far down the social ladder that it doesn't even qualify as a meme anymore.

The thing is, I don't consider what they're doing as "having fun." I think they're basically just using the game to get their rocks off. Which imo isn't even playing/enjoying the game. They're just using the game as a tool to jerk it. And I also don't think these people are enjoying themselves. They know whats on the other side of their ERP partners screen. These people who ERP on the regular are having the the most guilty and self-loathing of nuts. Its just bad vibes and has nothing to do with me being prudish.

By the way if you see it happening in the streets you can easily report it and they take it very seriously. However the report I made was not because it was happening in the streets (personally never seen that despite having thousands of hours on Balmung), it was from some traveling non-RPers who kept using the /slap emote on my character's ass and talking about it. Took less than 10 minutes for them to wind up in the goal.

Phew boy. Alot of things to take apart here. First thing, they are having fun or they wouldn't be doing it now would they? Second off, a lot of the people who ERP are already done with MSQ and many of them have also beaten all of the current raids and content the game has to offer. To say that people aren't playing the game that they are logged on, playing, socializing, and having a good time in is a WILD assessment. Also, who cares what is on the other side of the screen? Would you not talk to someone if you found out they were ugly or disfigured outside of the game? That is an incredibly judgmental take. I have no idea what you look like and frankly do not care but I will talk to you all the same almost like you're a person just like me.

Maybe, just maybe, people like having fun in a way that hurts legitimately no one. Maybe people play the game and ERP to take a bit of a break from reality. Almost like... that is what gaming is made for? To call people "Guilty and Self loathing nuts" for enjoying themselves is incredibly judgmental. I sincerely hope this is not a sentiment you carry around with you in life.

your wrong for a few reason, many people erp just to kill time or to add to their character story I mean in one game I erped not for myself but for my characters story to grow and evolve. There also the fact ERP doesnt always =sexual content lol it can involve extreme gore,torture and other fun things like that.

In fact the amount who do it for themself is lower than you realize, many people are just doing it to get gil or if they the one paying to burn through gil since there isn't much worth in gil outside of housing lol

Welcome to the internet, that's personal proplems and not single person is doing it in /say or shout they may stand or be in that space in party chat but they aren't saying it to were those level 1s can see. Also the lalafell that sexually harassing cat girls is in a level 10 spot right outside of limsa a level 1 could easily go to. Also here's the truth the cold truth the game is rated for drugs,smoking and sexual content. If you expect to not see that then you need to Uninstall the game its built into the game

The game is rated for teens actually you can find the rating online using your search engine of choice.

It's no good you waltzing into this thread with the "think of the children" theme, while elsewhere you have been advocating for more tacos despite never having eaten one!!!

Difference is made, if it's two consenting parties, and a private area (such as perhaps a locked housing area). However, openly sexual behaviour or inappropriate chatter should not happen in public. Even if the game story has mature elements written in it, such as murders (or a lalafell lusting after cat girls), they are not often very graphic, and it doesn't mean that players can role play inappropriately among or toward other players. That's not something anyone needs to expect in game. That's a different matter.

The game is also rated for 13 years and up, so.. that's just after elementary school (1-6).
